I personally think that not enough people have heard Vienna Teng's songs, and that there aren't enough videos on UA-cam with her music. So this is my contribution.
so underrated, she is a lyric talent, this song sounds like a real poem, unlike some pop songs which only catch your ears but souls

Vienna Teng is a brilliant artist. I hope we see and hear much more of her.
I got 2 album from Vienna this evening and I immediately felt in love with her voice and lyrics. The Tower is one of my favorite song from Walking Hour. It's just so goooooood.
"I need not to need, or else a love with intuition." I completely relate. I could be okay if I either didn't need, or if I had what I needed.
Her music is beautiful and her voice has this wonderful elagance to it. Not like Miley Cyrus or those singers. She is a true artist! I love hearing her songs, I always feel as if I coul just shut my eyes and fall asleep. Go Vienna!

Whenever I listen to this song, I am touched.
There are too many meaningful words or sentences in this world coming from some wise people or media. Actually, they are not that meaningful as they looks like.
There is no real right or wrong, all is about your choices and the following sequences. You choose, then you gain and lose. You are responsible for what you did.
Sometimes, standing in the shade and watching the world quietly seems to be more interesting.

This song- it's exactly what I'm dealing with right now, and it makes me think about what I need to do, to be "the flower trying to bloom in the snow" that makes it to spring- I have always been a tower and now... well, now, I'm being bombarded with canonballs and I'm just scared that what's left will be rubble I can't rebuild- I know things won't, can't, be what they were before, but I wonder if I'll even recongize myself when I rebuild

It reminds me of my memories. I am still in the same position as several years. I want to know Teng how to fix her situation. Someone reaches out to my weakness and won't let go. Reach out, but hold back? where is the one who can change me? I want to listen to it on live.

Thank you for posting, your right not enough people hear her music, and most of the stuff on youtube is recordings from concerts where the quality of the music is vastly deminished.

oh wow i just stumbled on to this beautiful song by listening to the song "lullaby for a stormy night". i first heard the song on an amv. and now listening to this i know that i am a new Vienna Teng fan :) i put this in favorites i love it!
I LOVE this song! Vienna Teng has a beautiful voice and this is a wonderful song :') This song also reminds me of the NCIS character, Ziva David. Someone needs to make an NCIS Ziva fanvideo using this song :D

@FirstIsa I'd have to disagree. Her music is just as, if not more amazing in a live setting, and a lot of the recordings do more than enough justice to that fact. Having seen her live (and even joined her on stage to help sing Soon Love Soon!), I can attest to this.
@Padloq Your post may not be received as well as you want it to because you have a personal connection to this person. ^^; Although I do agree with you 100%. Techscat wasn't even attacking the song or the artist at all - they were just offering their respectable opinion on it. I think that people are too conditioned to trolls to be able to tell the difference between constructive criticism and outright assault.

@anime4u1999 Are you serious? Why would you hate someone just because this song happens to not do a lot for them? He didn't even bash it, he just basically said "not my kind of song," but he gave it a 4/5 - you might notice that's a decent rating. Besides, it's silly to think that someone's taste in music defines them as a person. If you recommended this song to your best friend, and they said, "It's okay, just not my thing," and they didn't love it - would you hate your best friend?

Say, then, that you showed it to someone else you were close to, like a relative or another friend. If they listened to it and their reaction was basically, "Meh, not for me," would you really say "Fine, we're not friends anymore, I fucking hate you"? Do you really think it's worth hating someone for not liking a song?

The imagery in the lyrics is a bit too feminine for my taste. I'm a fan of the music notes she chose though.
Alexander Reeves Everyone has a masculine and feminine side. And the fact she says "she" doesn't mean the song is only for women.
Arguably, men would probably relate more since they are forced to set their own emotions aside. I think the people who could relate to this most are mothers/fathers and men.
Young women usually aren't stigmatized for expressing vulnerability. And I'm not a woman, but I relate to the sentiment of the lyrics, of someone who has been strong for too long, looking for a connection, but who now feels frail and alone and ashamed to state their needs.
