I can’t like Courtney enough. Breaking boundaries and smiling along the way. She’s a humble, beautiful woman. 🎉🎉 hope she gets through the 2 events safely.
Was in utter shock a month ago when we arrived at our normal trailhead in EUG OR area and as we prepared to exit our car I see Courtney come around the bend in the trail with Cam Hanes...my wife suggested we should run to catch them to say "hi" ;) We did see them at the summit and got a quick high-five and huge smile ofc! Both of us were slightly star-struck.
Big fan of Courtney - she's the GOAT. And most importantly she's an amazingly kind person and a great ambassador of the sport. Having met her in person at Leadville, I can say it's not just a façade - she's a genuinely good person! That said, very skeptical and little worried about this,: I hope she doesn't get injured. I'm frequently racing 100 milers 3 weeks apart, and it's clearly not enough to fully heal and offer a peak performance. If you are slow like me, whatever, that's fine - but at her pace... I don't know, sounds scary to me... I'd almost rather see her switch Hardrock for Leadville. Being local now, AND with Camille Herron racing this year - I think it'd be epic!
UTMB organisers are insane, Jim W had to go to Croatia to race to qualify for UTMB 23, after finishing 4th last year, WTF........Courtney is brilliant on and off the trails of the world. And she's pioneering what women can achieve in the sport and bringing more people to the sport.
Yeah, I’d like to think they’d realise the significance of the ‘triple’ and how great that would be for marketing the race, but you’re probably right. For sure, she’s a fantastic role model! Thanks for watching.
I hope she doesn't hurt herself is my main wish. As for the attempt, she will do it only to compete with her "yesterday self" and not to prove a point to anyone. At least that's how I've come to know her. That's why she's the GOAT because accolades or not, she pushes the envelope and has taken the sport to a higher level than ever before. I will be watching in awe, that's for sure. I appreciate the effort you put into making this video. It's a big deal for an ultrarunning fan like myself.
Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it. Good to know other ultra running fans are enjoying the videos. Regarding Courtney, I agree. She doesn’t seem the type to be chasing external awards/accolades. She seems more internally motivated, just pushing herself to new heights. As you say, that’s why she’s one of the greats.
I watched this video and was so impressed with your content and insights that I watched another and then another. I like your honest and straightforward approach. I hope you keep this up. I've subscribed.
Fantastic analysis. Courtney is by far the greatest personality on the ultra running circuit. She also has the greatest range of ultra running abilities. She’s drawn so much interest to the sport.
I love Courtney and I believe she can win both of the races Western States and Hard Rock 😍😍😍 She‘s simply amazing 🙏🤗 I‘ve fallen in love with her spirit 🫶🏻💪 She‘s one of my greatest running idols 👌
Great to see the celebration of Coutrney...was taken a bit aback by the "hard to compare to legends in other sports" where every icon displayed was male. Surely Courtney is not the first and only female GOAT across all sports.
And she came in ahead of Mathieu Blanchard, second only runner to break 20 at the UTMB! Although he did run the Paris marathon and the MDS, and I don’t know much about ultra- fitness, so idk what this would mean.
Interesting. Dominant for 6 years now, won almost every ‘major’ race with CR at all of them bar WS. Wondering what more she’d need to do, in your eyes?
My daughter is running this, couldn't be more proud

UTMB is now about money...

Apologies for the nasally voice, I have a cold!
Also, is podium-ing a word!? 🤣

Well she did it. Won the first two! Now we wait and see if she’ll run UTMB. it’s very exciting to think about.
That Courtney is top 10 competitive with the men puts her on a whole new level.
And she smashed that Western States/UTMB double and won them both but also won Hardrock, she's an absolute beast amongst a sport of beasts.
Great video! Thank you for the coverage! Subscribed!
Thank you, I appreciate it.
GO COURTNEY!! 😁🎊🎉🎊
She’s made of something else 🤯
She is amazing smiling simple and humble and extremely 💪 😅😊
Great job

To go to UTMB 2023, she only (only 😅) needs to finish in the top 3 or being in the top 50 at the UTMB 100M world index
Looks like she did win, with a little margin on the previous course record…
And she came in ahead of Mathieu Blanchard, second only runner to break 20 at the UTMB! Although he did run the Paris marathon and the MDS, and I don’t know much about ultra- fitness, so idk what this would mean.
Easily the greatest.
Yes Courtney is great but way early for the GOAT talk...Years from now maybe, but nowhere near yet.
Who would you put over her?
Interesting. Dominant for 6 years now, won almost every ‘major’ race with CR at all of them bar WS. Wondering what more she’d need to do, in your eyes?
Nowhere near? I can’t think of anybody else except perhaps Ann Trason. If she’s not there already, she’s close
She is a goat because so far no other has done as well as her. All time means currently.
She won the Moab 240 in 2017 outright, she beat the first male by over 10 hours...
