    Very impressive performance. Only complaint regards the sound track. Practically drove me insane. I would have turned it off, but I wanted to listen to the radio work. Arghhh!

    I've been considering this flight school for a while now for my light sport license. Just need to gain the confidence to get started. How was your experience?

    Fun video but the music was too loud. A little in the background is fine but this was like a music video.

    Greg, thanks for the video. We are a small flight school in southern Utah and are looking to purchase an Alpha Trainer for primary flight training. A couple of questions for you: 1) What was your overall experience learning in the Alpha Trainer? 2) Have you transitioned to other conventional aircraft and if so, how difficult was it to make the transition? 3) Any other input you may have regarding advantages and disadvantages for learning in the airplane. Thanks, Scott F.

      I actually transitioned from a 172 to the pipistrelle. It definitely simplified some aspects but I found the landings to be more challenging in the pipistrelle, may have been partially due to switching to a school at Smaller airport with terrain all around it, but it felt like landing a go-kart. All and all i really enjoyed the experience in the pipistrelle and would recommend training in one. Saved me $40 an hour in rental fees and offered really nice views out the window with some experience switching to some modern avionics.

      I flew the same aircraft and it's an impressive piece of equipment. Reach out to the guys at Foothill Flight training. They're a good bunch of folks and I'm sure they would be happy to give you their thoughts. To Greg's point plane was fantastic, the smaller airport with terrain around it was fine but definitely my bigger concern (but frankly a very good place to learn good skills). An excellent school and an excellent aircraft

    Another great vid! Question: does the stall indicator come standard on the new Alpha's?

      Not sure, I just rent the plane from the flight school.

      I don't recall it being in there when I flew the same aircraft probably 3 years ago. It is a sensible addition to a phenomenal aircraft

      @@gregsmagic thank you, I will search information about this instrument....the name is "stall indicator" true ??

      Yeah it warns you when are approaching a stall.

    • @gregsmagic
      @gregsmagic  2 роки тому

      Actually the name is angle of attack indicator, but essentially its purpose is to warn you when you're about to stall the aircraft.

    So, I'm not a pilot and this is a genuine question, how is Cameron Park to Vacaville considered a long cross country? I can drive it in less than an hour.

    • @gregsmagic
      @gregsmagic  Рік тому +2

      Long cross country (flight to an airport at least 50 notical miles away) is a legal term used to define an experience required by the FAA to obtain a pilot certificate .
