Yes I am a Certified diver. Was on a rescue dive team on Fire Dept. Can't Swim. Not afraid of the water. I used a wet suit which weights are required. If I would have had trouble drop the weights and would go to top.
⚠ I don't know how to swim, but I did scuba in Andaman & Nicobar with an instructor guiding us underwater. I'm trying to book a scuba dive in Cairns, but they say you need to know how to swim. In your video, you mentioned non-swimmers can still do scuba with the instructor's help. I'm a bit confused on what is right and what is wrong! I'm planning for the first week of Jan and need to book everything fast. Can you get back to me asap? Thanks! 😊
Hi thank you for getting in touch, yes please note the main thing to try first-time introductory diving in Cairns is that you are medically fit with no asthma and not be taking any prescription medication. PADI also recommends allowing up to 24 hours after diving before flying. Please note if you cannot swim but you really want to try a dive there is a wonderful day boat in Cairns where the dive guides really do want you to have an amazing experience and even do the swimming for you underwater. They will link arms with you underwater and move you along. Please check out here - cairnsdiveadventures.com.au/tour/reef-experience/
Depending where you travel, the further the boats travel offshore in general the more fuel they use so in turn the more they charge. If you click on the Cairns Dive Sites map you can see where each boat travels too and see there prices when you click on the name of the boat. Hello yes please not JUNE / JULY / AUGUST are some of the best times of the year to dive in Cairns. These months are classed as our winter months so blue skies and sunshine, generally no rain with beautiful underwater visibility of around 18 meters. The water temperature is around 24 degrees and we can get a little wind of 15 / 18 knots South Easterly Winds. Please see our guide for all the different dive seasons in Cairns here - cairnsdiveadventures.com.au/diving-tours-cairns/dive-seasons-in-cairns-month-by-month-guide/
