FIRST TIME HEARING Queen - Under pressure (Live at Wembley) BLACK AMERICAN REACTION was a SUCCESS‼️🔥🔥
#QUEEN #UNDERPRESSURE #REACTION - Розваги
I think when he said "fuck you" he was referring to the fact that he kept making it harder for them but they did it anyway. Tongue in cheek and they loved it!
Barbara Saracini He said it affectionately, he loved the fans!
@@arwenodinson8803 - Totally said with affection. RIP Freddie.
The "warm up" battle he did with the audience contained a lot of the lyrics from this song
Said with love :) Freddie's famous call and response! Freddie could command a crowd!
Freddie respected his fan. Fuck you is not hard word
Well, it’s not a rock bands way to get the crowd hyped, it’s Freddie Mercury’s way;)
Freddie liked his audience to be involved. He wanted the person at the back of the room to feel like they were in the front.
Also, Freddie had a cold so this is him not at 100% :-)
My mom got to see them live in 82 and she was in the far back but she still felt like Freddie was singing right to her. :) They really made you feel part of it.
@@sunlightfire5925 I am so jealous :-). I never got to see them live. I have a lot if DVDs though :-)
Sassy Sally Shenanigan's Story Time Further.mgmt this point of his career...he suffered terribly from nodules in the throat.
The 'f### you' was a compliment to the crowd for singing so good, typical playful diva attitude
Your white man with the fro made that break down :-) John Deacon aka Deacy...he is amazing. He also wrote Another One Bites the Dust. Sadly, he put his bass down in 1997 and never played in public again. He felt that Queen ended when Freddie died and couldn't face playing with another front man. He also created an amp for Brian May the guitar player, so his guitar could make different sounds. Truly amazing person.
All true, except John did give Brian and Roger his blessing for them to continue, if that's what they wanted to do.
Brian May has a bigger fro so that was confusing.
William Jordan and Brian May’s fro is the real deal, natural curls... John Deacon had wavy hair, but this look is a perm.
Check out a video of Brian May speaking about the history of his guitar "Red Special". Once you see what went into making this guitar, you will have a further appreciation for each unique sound.
I’m Weak For Deaky it was the 80s. We ALL had perms. 😜
The vocal improvisation is something that just Freddie did he found it fun to interact with the audience and usually did it at every concert at some point in the show
Queen Somebody to Love live in Montreal '81. You will not regret it 😁
Queen is the best band that ever existed.
Freddie Mercury the greatest vocalist and frontman ❤❤
Esther Ruesink my all time favorite live performance of any band.
You know, I'm in my late 20s and I cant argue with it. My childhood was littered with car rides to queen cds. No one can ever touch Freddie. He was the perfect singer.
Beatles. 21 number ones in 6 years.
Pls react to "The Show Must Go On" Freddies goodbye to the world. I'm an old Queen fan n I do enjoy seeing a new gen discover the magic. 👍
I just watched that thanks to you...... thank you
Dude, no joke, that is just a normal Queen audience. They started stadium concert's
John Deacon the bassist wrote the break down which Vanilla Ice stole and settled a law suit out of court
Yes, the members of the band always wrote all their music and lyrics
Melanie Carbonneau Further...they're the ONLY band to have #1 his written by ALL 4 members!
The song was a collaboration with David Bowie, John Deacon came up with the riff and just kept playing it over and over. They wrote the song based on that riff, according to drummer Roger Taylor.
When Freddie Mercury was performing early in his career his microphone broke from the stand and he just kept singing with it like that. And he thought it was cool so he continued to do that throughout the rest of his career. I was one of the special things about him. Check out there Live Aid performance from 1985. It is considered one of the best live performances in rock history! Giving you another piece of history. I recorded the entire Live Aid performance when I was 16 and the only part I remember is Queen. They stole the show. And everybody was in that show that you can think of from that time. Paul McCartney, George Michael, Elton John, Phil Collins, Madonna, Duran Duran, the concert started in the UK and London and continued in Philadelphia later. It was televised all over the world. Which was a big deal back in 1985
Also you probably know the song We Will Rock You and we are the champions. Check those out. And definitely check out another one bites the dust. A lot of people thought he was a black man singing. They are awesome
The gentleman playing the bass wrote that riff.
Christina Crowley and his name is John deacon
The guy with the afro(lol perm) is the bassist John Deacon. And Freddie alwats held his microphone like that. It came off in one of his first gigs and he carried on like that. It's an iconic signature for him ❤❤❤
This wasn’t a festival. It was a scheduled two night appearance at Wembley Stadium. Freddie always did a song challenge at each concert to get the crowd involved. This was a Queen concert.
In the early days of Queen, Freddie was messing around with the microphone and it accidentally detached. He went on as if nothing happened and it became his thing at live shows.
John Deacon, the bass player came up with the base line, went to dinner, forgot it, and the drummer, Roger Taylor remembered it. They met David Bowie while they were out, so they decided to go back to the studio and see what they could come up with. Under Pressure was the result.
A Queen audience would do ANYTHING Freddie wanted them to.
The only band in any genre of music to have all members who wrote a Number 1 song.
Don't sleep on the drummer's voice, either. Roger Taylor has a voice that is every bit as good as Freddie's.
Well, Roger Taylor can sing, but even he turned vocals over to Freddie.
Roger’s voice was great. You can tell he’s carrying some of the high notes for Freddie so he wouldn’t strain his voice. This is the last tour they ever did.
@@carriestaker3856, there is a reason for that; playing the drums and singing lead effectively is extremely difficult; I can only think of a few lead singers who do both.
He should listen to I’m Love With My Car”
Freddie's best live Vocal performance of all time, definitely react to it!!!
QUEEN SOMEBODY TO LOVE, LIVE MONTREAL 81'.
QUEEN SOMEBODY TO LOVE, LIVE MONTREAL 81'
QUEEN SOMEBODY TO LOVE, LIVE MONTREAL 81'
QUEEN SOMEBODY TO LOVE, LIVE MONTREAL 81'
So you think that he should react to "Somebody To Love"??
My man John Deacon created that breakdown, my little bass god.
no that’s not a „regular rock band thing to turn a crowd on“ it was an original Queen thing to turn the crowd on like this 😉🙌🏻🎸
Ice got sued for not crediting the riff in his song. he changed one note and STOLE this from Queen. He lost his ass over it. His half a mic stand is his signature. He always carried the top half of the mic stand because very early on he couldn't get the mic off the stand so he carried the top half and did so from then on.
I heard that it snapped at the base
@@savagekitten_destroyer9271 no he struggled to get the mic off and said fuck it. He took the top half the rest of the show and to 20 more years.
Ice didn't change a damn thing...he said a few years ago that he stole it and was just being an asshole when he was being sued. Rat bastard!!!
Yes, Vanilla Ice did steal this riff.
Freddy played with his audiences loke that. Made them feel part of what was going on.
The Basist (John) came up with the base line. He also gave us Another One Bites the dust. He forgot it apparently when Queen and Bowie went out for dinner, but remembered it later.
Freddie broke the microphone stand once really early on, and liked the handle, so he used it that way ever after.
Queen is pure talent. Everyone of them bring something to the group. Perfection!!
"i want it all" greatest studio performance by any artist. "somebody to love" montreal '81 greatest live performance by any artist. "barcelona"greatest opera crossover with rock by freddie and montserat carbella.
John Deacon (Deaky) was the bassist.
Brian May was the guitarist, and has a doctorate in astrophysics.
Roger Taylor is the drummer, singing along with Freddie while banging away on the kit.
All of them were multi talented, and each of them wrote one or more number one hits for the band.
Not to be outdone, Freddie wrote a few number one hits, and wrote some opera in his later years with Montserrat Cabilet.
He would often do the call back thing with the crowd to get them hyped up and involved. He was just an all around musician and performer.
He died in November 1991 due to AIDS, but continued making music up until around 5 or 6 months before his death.
I was at this concert, fantastic!
If you want to see an unforgettable performance watch their part in live aid show
Melanie Carbonneau I second this idea!!
no festival, just a Queen concert
Rover Waters this was Live Aid but Queen did turn it into their concert. I remember watching this as a kid.
N Hammock this is from Wembley 1986, a year after Live Aid which was in 1985, same stadium and this was a sold out concert and was about an 1 1/2 hours long. The DVD of the full concert is amazing.
yes . What Alexis stated . 1 year later and they played their Live Aid song with the band this time around.. those days were great for those who could go
I was happy going to see RUSH back in the day
@@gagirl0499 This is not live aid.
@@Mitzi_and_Luna Queen played about 1 1/2 hours but the full concert was much longer. Before Queen we had INXS, The Alarm and Status Quo. I think it was about 4 hours altogether, possibly more.
Deaky, John Deacon most underrated bass player wrote that riff
This live performance is amazing! Freddie loved to get the audience involved and they ate out of the palm of his hand. The studio recording of this song also features David Bowie. You should definitely check that out.
Elizabeth Lofton He should absolutely see "Love of My Life" live! It didn't matter which live performance as EVERY signal one are suburb!
Motown 1966 I agree! I love studio recordings, but there is something magical about the live performances.
The two most popular bass lines ever were written by John Deacon. He wrote the song another one bites the dust which placed high on the r&b charts. He is also an acoustics engineer and built the amplifier Brian (guitarist) used to record virtually every song. Brian built his own guitar out of household items with his father when he was 17 and still plays it to this day. That's why they have a unique sound. Btw Brian has a PhD in astrophysics. They are the only band in rock history where every member wrote a #1 song.
Now, the other band you should listen to is The Beatles. The reason Queen and every other rock band exists is bc of them. In 7 years they created all of the expansive subgenres of rock. I recommend three songs I Wanna Hold Your Hand 1964 Strawberry Fields Forever 1967 Something 1969. They look and sound very different in each of their the periods.

durban73 37nabrud You absolutely hear their influence on Queen on their track "Good Ole Fashion Lover Boy" with the song from Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band's "A Day in the Life"... Especially the part were the alarm clock goes off at 2:19 on the song.
ua-cam.com/video/usNsCeOV4GM/v-deo.html
grandmaster flash wheel of steel
Motown 1966 That makes sense. Brian May has said the Beatles were the textbook.
durban73 37narud I think John owes Nile Rodgers some credit for Another One Bites The Dust.
The "fuck you" thing to the crowd was a compliment to crowd, said in fun, because he was "mad" at them for mostly keeping up with his last vocal phrase/challenge to them.
John Deacon, the bass player came up with that sweet bass line, and he is known for it.
Yeah - early in his career there was an accidental break of the mic stand... so Freddie just "went with it" - and it became a signature of his...
Brian May has a Doctrate in Nuclear Physics, Roger Taylor also had a science degree and John Deacon was also a graduate. Freddie went art school and designed the Queen logo.
Sally Taylor *astrophysics
@@imweakfordeaky I stand corrected.
Roger, I believe, got a degree in dentistry.
@@charlesorrell5186 Roger got bored with dentistry & ended up with a degree in biology.
For Mega fan's of any artist (myself a Queen nut) there is an immeasurable amount of pleasure in 'turning' someone, anyone, into a fellow appreciater (at the least) or fan, because we understand that journey and this, this my friend, is how people like Freddie and Queen and many other great artists spread love through the world.
These reaction videos are what the internet was made for baby!
I'm guessing the first white guys with an afro were the bassist and drummer in the Jimi Hendrix Experience band - 20 years before this (formed in 1966).
Freddie's the only rock vocalist I can ever remember energizing a crowd with vocal exercises. It seemed to be a staple with him.
If you like great basslines, Another One Bites The Dust and Dragon Attack - both by Queen, have amazing bass hooks. Although Another One Bites The Dust I think grabs from Good Times by Chic because they sound awfully close.
Itelkner I too thought they'd collaborated with Nile Rodgers from Chic (who did collaborate with David Bowie on "Let's Dance") on "Another One Bites the Dust."
white afro? art garfunkel from simon and garfunkel, much sooner than 66.
Motown 1966 I think John Deacon definitely grabbed from Nile Roger's bassline. Nile Rogers, in turn, might have grabbed a bit from James Jamerson's line in "Baby I Want You Back."
Gerald Hermann Ok, Artie gets the prize for being a trailblazer from, what, 1964 or so? My point was that Justin in this video kept saying that John Deacon was the first white guy with an afro. Amusing, but not even close. Started in the sixties not eighties.
Great reaction. thats why Queen stands up to this day cause their live performances are either just as good as or even better that their studio work cause of their pure talent and even now their works are a breath of fresh air. I suggest you listen to the studio recording where they collaborated with the great late David Bowie. If you loved this I suggest you watch the recorded live performance of Somebody to love Montreal 1981, he'd take you to church!
It's just something Freddie did before the song
when they were starting out, Freddy's mic stand broke. he kept up and the incomplete mic stand became kind of a signature.
You've got pretty much every Queen fan whooping in glee at your massive praise for John Deacon's bass line (that's your cute lil white dude with the "afro"!). Deaky was a GENIUS and wrote some epic bass lines as well as some great songs (he wrote Another One Bites The Dust which I'm sure you've heard). But he tended to fly a bit under the radar while everyone focused on Freddie's vocals, Brian's guitar solos, and Roger's drumming and vocals. So it's always great to hear people giving Deaky his just props. Oh, and Vanilla Ice stole the fuck out of this and got his ass sued.
GladiatorKnightGhost Deaky deserves love and respect - that he's getting more of it now is great. But when I hear that bassline for Another One Bites The Dust, I get reminded of how much he lifted from Nile Rogers's bassline on Good Times by Chic. Deaky's a fantastic musician and songwriter though, who deserves his due. I guess I prefer the bass hooks in Under Pressure and Dragon Attack, just as memorable. Then there's the fantastic You're My Best Friend.
Freddie did his omproves at every concert and his fans loved him greatest band ever watch the concert on you tube or 1985 live aid.
Lmao 😂😂 "is this part of the song, does this go with this"
Kristin Renee that comment made me laugh so hard
"*Greasing the audience*
This is not a festival... this is a Queen concert! They drew crowds like this all over the world!
Vanilla Ice stole the bass line from Queen and got sued.
Justin Davis it ruined him too. He should hace known better.
Your reactions are priceless!! I will definitely be visiting your channel again, and thank you for keeping QUEEN alive!!! ((Much respect))
That white man with the afro is John Deacon (bass guitar) the one responsible for that break down 😊
Fun fact when writing the song the band went out for drinks and when they came back John Deacon (the bassist who came up with the riff) had forgotten it and couldn't remember how it went! Cue panicking until Roger (the drummer) went "Wait! Didn't it go something like this?" *Hums the riff.* and then John went "Oh yeah, you're right!"
Nothing Freddie did was like anyone else! He created himself! Please just React! Really want your reaction! (P.S. Quite a few white men, and women for that matter, had Afro's in the 70's!) Also, Queen is pretty much considered the greatest rock band in history, and Freddie the most iconic frontman ever, no contest. These were 4 highly educated and totally gifted MUSICIANS! They could and did do it
all, including sue Vanilla Ice and won, because he STOLE their riff. Really enjoy your reaction. Please keep them coming, not only for Black people but for All people. Music unites us!
His mic and the way he holds it is Freddie's trademark ❤️❤️❤️
Jay when your refered to Freddie saying fuck you towards the crowd it was banter
All us queen fans know you need to wear headphones you'll be amazed what really sounds like. Amazing!!!
As a true Queen fan, I think you should check out the Group Pentatonix.. their fan base is enormous... They do the cover to Bohemian Rapsody , They make their own beats and use only their vocals... Get ready to have your mind BLOWN !! =)
I've really come to like your intelligent and thoughtful comments on great music.
The awesome John Deacon - Check out Dragon Attack!!!!
Anita Smith can this guy handle Funky Deaky, though?
@@imweakfordeaky 🤣🤣🤣Either way I would love to see the reaction - plus we get to vibe with Deaky - win-win!! 😁👍
Anita Smith true true... vibing with Deaky is a worthy goal of its own.
Should he do Montreal 81 or Milton Keynes Bowl 82 ?
@@imweakfordeaky Yes!! Seriously though, Milton is a better showcase of Deacon as he does a solo when Brian breaks a string and has to change guitars. However... I must say the performance at Montreal is seriously sexy!!! I could go on about why.... but I'll save that in case you haven't enjoyed it yet😉🎸
Anita Smith oh I’ve watched both!
Stuck on QUEEN I’m 63 years old and just glad I was a teenager in the 70 s
if you think this is the first man with an Afro you have never seen the bass player for Jimi Hendricks or the harmonica player in the band "War"
The Queen is a unique band. They are proficient in all types of music. Freddie can sing rock, jazz, pop, opera and everything else
Best vocal range of any lead singer ever. Could crush any note or octave.
Yeah, Vanilla Ice got into a little bit of trouble for stealing that bass line. The song was originally a Queen/David Bowie collaboration in 1981. 8 years after the song was a hit Vanilla did "Ice Ice Baby." He got in trouble and that's why if you look up "Ice Ice Baby" you'll see Queen and David Bowie on the writing credits even though they would never write anything as juvenile as "Ice Ice Baby."
His vocal range was exceptional , 4 + octaves. This song came out of a jam session with David Bowie. Both QUEEN &Bowie had hits with it. Theres a video of them doing it together. Bowie performed it with Annie Lennox at the memorial concert 5 months after Freddie 's death.
The vocal exercises were just Freddie. He did it whenever he felt like it. And his “fuck you” was tongue in cheek. They loved it.
that call/response was unique to Freddie. when you watch the film the crowd started it in the early days. the band was shocked. so they worked it in. it goes with radio gaga
He so did this in the dressing room prior to a performance to warn up. He incorporated into live performances to involve the crowd. They loved it!. John Deacon, the bassist, came up with the famous riff which Vanilla ice used without permission & ended up paying for.
No this is Queen's way of hyping up a crowd. Other rock bands use Queen covers for hyping up the crowd. 😂
The guy doing the reaction done my head right in
The half mic stand was a signiture move of Freddie's. He had trouble seperating the mic from it's stand one night early in his career, & it broke or came apart half way down the stand, so he went with it like that. He liked it, so he continued performing that way from then on.
The short mic was one of his trademarks, he was in constant motion for most of his performances.
Queen didn't create songs. They created anthems that are timeless
The person who came up with the "breakdown" is the bass player, John Deacon. Modest, quiet, the true composer of that rift.
Looked like he liked it off the stand and could handle it and moved around better without a stand Hope they doing a movie based on just documentaries They made every song 🎶
one of the greatest performer's ever.
It was the center part of a telescopic Mike stand. It came loose one time and he's carried around like that ever since.
First time seeing you react...you are so entertaining and fun!! Stay on the Queen train..will be watching.
Please consider..Tie Your Mother Down...Save Me ..Somebody To Love or Play The Game the live versions from Rock Montreal...they are superb and will kick your arse.
John Deacon the bassist came up with that. And the F.U. to the crowd is a playful F.U. meaning damn I didn’t think you could do it; but you did. It’s his applause to the crowd.
From what the group Queen shared is the bass player was the one that wrote the riff. I love rock and roll but Queen was more than that. Amazing vocals.
He's engaging his audience.. awesome
John Deacon, the quiet bass player for Queen, invened that riff with the guitar.
That ref is straight up QUEENS...
I just came across your channel and I love your reaction...sooo glad that I found you 😎
It's funny you mention "Two For One Combo", Freddie loved those! But man could he sing!
I enjoy watching the crowd 🥰
Freddie had a 4 1/2 octave range. Very impressive.
To my knowledge all their songs were originals.
With the exception of one cover. “The Great Pretender” by The Platters.
“Crazy little thing called Love” was a tribute to Elvis after he died.
“Somebody to love”. I believe I read was a tribute to Tina Turner.
“The Highlander Soundtrack”. With songs like “ Who wants to live forever”.
Their Discography is really unique and endless.
We’re all written by different members of Queen. Showing great diversity and development over years.
I have lost count of how many times I have watched this reaction.... I absolutely love your expressions and humor... I ready for the next one.. Not just to see Queen but to see your reaction and history factoids 😎
It's only queen who got a crowd hyped up like that never done before or since
Freddy always uses that mike prop because when they first started in the 70s in small clubs he could never get the mike out of the mike stand. So he took the top half of the whole thing and walked around with it. So he just kept doing it for his whole career.
No, a lot of white men had fro’s in the 70’s. If they had extremely curly/ wavy long hair, it generally turned into a fro. Brian May’s was impressive tho. Check out Neil Schon’s from Journey in the early seventies if you want to see a big white dudes fro!🤣
John Deacon. The Bass player. Was jamming he's usually really quiet and reserved. 😂😂😂
John Deacon, the bass player, came up with that "break-down".
The lead guitarist and his dad made the guitar he is playing he still plays it today. The mic was on a stand broke the first time he used it and he just keep using it.
Bass guitarist John Deacon of Queen, came up with this iconic riff!
'How 'ya doing? Let me take your order....' haha
I was there, about 30 yards from the front, wonderful day in sunny North London
He didn’t want anyone to feel left out.
More Queen videos...how about their performance at Live Aid... THE BEST
I subbed... too funny😆😆
I like that you put humor in your reactions. You are very entertaining. John Deacon was a huge fan of black r&b music. You can hear that in his playing. He wrote the "Under Pressure" breakdown. Their song "Another One Bites the Dust" was a #1 hit on the r&b charts in 1980.
Roger (the drummer) sang Freddie's part & Freddie sang David Bowie's lower register part. in my opinion Roger was one of the few vocalists in rock or pop that could keep up with Freddie. the dynamic between Bowie & Mercury was amazing, i just wish that they had been able to perform together before Freddie's death.
