The thing I like about the series is that they use all the details they revealed in the earlier seasons. This series has *no* filler, and anyone who says otherwise isn’t paying attention. I’ve watched the series over both in original languages and in English dub, and it’s a lot of fun catching stuff they come back later.
I agree with you!! No filler episodes. I have loved rewatching the previous seasons and noticing things I missed the first time around.
Shoto embracing his power further as his own was honestly great to see. I couldn’t be prouder. Also, something I can never say enough is how I couldn’t imagine being in Touya’s place in those flashbacks. Like, he burned himself up, and the next thing he knew he was several years older and looked completely different and had a different voice. And then he went home, only to realize that his father had essentially just continued on. All of Touya’s fears had essentially come to life.
Both points are so true! Shoto really came into his own and became his own person thanks to Midoriya's speech: "Its your quirk, not his." And Touya, the poor kid: all he wanted was his father's approval and kept hurting himself for it.

Very late reply but I think you misunderstood a bit of Dabi’s backstory as you watched it. AFO himself explained it a few episodes before, he has backup plans for his backup plans. The orphanage was his backup for Shigaraki not working out, a bunch of kids we was raising to turn into proper vessels indoctrinated by him to be his next body. Dabi was going to be another but he was too stubborn and burned it all down after waking up. So no they didn’t modify him, they didn’t get a chance to and wrote him off as a failure when he ran away. Endeavor never really told him he was a failure either, as bad a dad as he was he actually was worried about his kid still at that point so when Toya refused to stop, Endeavor thought that he would give up if he saw his father training someone else, l and mom agreed maybe having siblings would help him. He thought Toya was only trying for his sake so he’d give up if someone else took that burden away and he would be free to do anything else he wanted. Except to Toya’s mind it was never a burden and he felt discarded and robbed, it had the completely opposite effect. Comment already huge so I skipped a bit but yeah, and this is mostly from memory but the important part is he wasn’t really trying to replace Toya, he was just messed up and a kid and neglected so this is his version of what happened in his head
Ps. They only let him go because he wasn’t supposed to survive past a month without their help after he woke up, that’s where the shock came from when he showed up at the bar so many years later
I heard that we are getting a new opening and ending after episode 9 and it’s going on a week break 😢
