So far this is the best bike ever ride. It has a lot stability. I justo was in a hightower LT C. I started jumping with that bike. But since I test Megatower. It was a big difference. To me is unbelievable. Now I can go down hill faster. Jumping a lot easy. For me claiming no problem. Is just preference too. Thanks for sharing your videos Im only 2 years doing mountain bike but I never realized how quickly I will be flying. To me is a dream
I absolutely love my 2019 SC Mega! It is my one bike. I also upgraded the handlebars, but I went with the one up 35's. The bars made a world of difference! Great review, informative and to the point. Keep up the great work.
Hi, Im looking at this frame, one is a 2019 green colour with air shock or a 2020 matt grey one with coil like the frame above. £300 difference between the two with the coil model being more expensive. Which would you go for? My current frame has a crack in it, but I am running a push elevensix which won't transfer over and a fox 36 with coil conversion to 170mm. I mostly ride enduro tracks etc rather than lots of jumps and bike parks. Thanks.
@@jonathanhowson6420 Absolutely... The steeper, the better. If you're going to match a shock to what the bike is designed to do, you may as well stick with Coil.
Also have a tallboy and agree with everything you say! Just for info it will fit a DPX2 rear shock happily, though clearance on the water bottle is very tight!
Mitch thank you for the review. I’m 6’2” and 220. This is the first review I’ve seen mentioning an XXL. I’m curious of your height and thoughts on size for me. Also do you run XXL Tallboy? I have a Tallboy AL1 that cracked at the chainstay so Santa Cruz is giving me a deal on a new frame so I’m doing research. Thanks in advance!
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Thanks for your reply, and I think the new headtube style is sexier, like on the new 5010 and NOMAD. And 170mm would be a monster eating up all the hits easily. Yeah probably the new and old Megatower would be roughly the same, but the current ones are just out of stock in my country, so I'd better go for the next new one in this case.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels I bought it late August & @ the moment I'm riding mine low & short. I'm gonna upgrade some parts on it soon starting with the shock and the link. I'm looking at a Cascade composites link & a MEG/NEG rock shox deluxe + canister or a push coil. I really can't decide between a coil or air shock. But as it is off the showroom floor in stock term this bike rules🤗
Cool bike - how do you choose between the tall boy and the megatower? It seems a lot of your videos are in the same geographic location/terrain. Keep up the great work 👌🏻

Congrats! I’m glad you’re enjoying your bike and progressing skills. Welcome to the best sport in the world 😀
I own a Megatower too. Very happy with it. Thanks for a great video 😎
Not a problem 😀
I just bought a megatower frame, but i will put 27.5 wheels. Will it be a problem?
No

Thanks buddy! Enjoy your ride! It’s amazing.
Great video! I would like to ask, which SC paint finish do you prefer from a durability point of view, the matte or the glossy. Thanks!!😁
Both are extremely durable… I would argue about the same. Hope that helps :)
Very Nice Bike - Got the same Color!
Good review!
Cheers! It’s the best!
Do your brake pads rattle in the front Shimano Saint callipers?
Nope. Nice even a little.
Such a sweet ride. I do like the guard for the tailgates and such, nice touch!
Definitely a nice addition.

Go coil for sure! It’s a 160mm enduro bike, not a lightweight climber.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels is this bike suited to really rough steep technically rocky and rooty tracks where the tyres are constantly searching for grip?

That’s awesome!! I’m sure it would change the bike for the better :)
Does the shock placement a mud and rock magnet?!!
No not at all... Plus it has the guard there if you’re worried.

I’m 6ft 3 tall and both the Megatower and Tallboy are XXL with 40mm stems.
I'm 6ft 1 and I ride a tallboy 4 in a size L. Size your bike by rider area distance (RAD) not reach.
@@jonanderson1777 True, but you’re probably at the very high end for a Large. Probably feels too small at high speeds.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels I'm also in the northeast of the us. We tend to have tighter less wide open trails so that plays into things massively
I suppose that makes sense. Although you still have the ability to shorten the rear end length to quicken up handling as well.
I am just waiting for the new 2022 Megatower so bad, it is said to have 170mm travel with new design like the new NOMAD. What do you think?
Dude, can’t wait! Although you can make the current Mega basically the same thing already.

I hear ya. Makes sense to me :)
I ride an XL MEGATOWER & it's the best but my only complaint is that it suffers from peddle strikes on the climbs over & around rocks.
Long and low?

A few of the Santa Cruz models seem to suffer from that
What crank length were/are you running when you got the pedal strikes?

Just by how much margin of error I want to have that day :)
Wayyy better color !! Have the same one with the air shock.
I just bought a 2020 in green. I would prefer the black colour too but I save 2k$ on the retail price so all good.
You can’t make a wrong choice that way!
Possibly the only bike that looks good in XXL size. Such an achievement by SC.
Haha! They all look amazing :)
Noice Enduro Bike!
🤗
2020
Same exact frame.
