E-one VC60B Digital Insulation Resistance Tester
In this video we look at the E-One VC60B insulation tester from Banggood. This battery powered tester lets an experienced user test cables, motor windings, compressors, and other high-resistance electrical items for integrity. It can show when a dangerous situation is present such as a short to Earth. It can send 250, 500, or 1000VDC into the DUT.

Just damaging the insulation is not enough, failures usually also involve moisture or dirt to create a path which has an resistance high enough to not trip the breaker but low enough to get things energized which probably shouldn't.
When testing devices you usually also want to check the path between the plugs earth and casing so an RCD can operate properly - this however requires a specialized circuit to measure properly (high current to ensure a reliable path) which is missing from this device in comparison to a PAT.
Very cool little gadget..
Great review 👏
Did Temboo support with arduno Uno R3? How can i used Tembo sent email from arduino. would you tell me your coding sir, thank you
Great for checking capacitors also, especially if it will discharge them. Too bad we can't see inside it.
Can this be used for Audio cables and guitar cables to find breaks in the cable wire?
No, this is for testing your household products like a toaster, or clothes iron etc
@@learnelectronics ok thanks
Very cool. Who's the one guy that thumbs down all the videos? It's actually kind of hilarious.
Jared Gray haters gonna hate lol
Great tool for 3 phase motors at a really good price.
Yes indeed!
try to make a pencil line on a paper and the prob at both end on 1000v you should see a cool thing if its a good one you should see the arck going on the line
ray tru I will do that, thanks
Wat range batan
me pueden mandar un manual en español vc60b+
Hola
Quiero saber cuál es el valor. Admible para un motor
@@jaimemaldonado9523 hay varios modelos similar en Amazon, por algunos 40 Dollares, tienen diferentes "marcas" pero todos tienen el mismo # modelo. VC60B
Rotate then press
por favor lo pueden traducir al español ,estoy por comprarme este megometro pero su manual esta en ingles, soy de peru

You accidently left it in continous test mode at 1000V. Good thing you didn't touch the leads. I would not trust this device.
It's 6x1.5v AAA amazon cells. (c'mon)
This device is not superhachging supercaps.
funny how people think "danger Robinson, danger, life in Danger"
when they hear high voltage.
Knock yourself out, take a clickable lighter, or an arc lighter.. its gonna do jack.
same with this, it is a very small arc it creates if you shorten the probes, and floor the 1k HV
exactly the same with these protection zappers, people in the USA are purchasing to protect themself... they are way way more powerful then these, and they will still only tingle and not like Hollywood loves to display them.
Most insulation faults, in the real world, come from damp and/or excess moisture situations.
Scraping away or cutting the insulation, like you are doing here is no way to simulate a fault condition.
Much better to get a glass of distilled water, (which is an insulator), and contaminate it by the smallest amount.
Naturally occurring condensation across exposed conductors, due to worn or perished insulation, will usually be contaminated by any pre-existing dirt and/or oxidation of exposed copper and thus create a conductive path where normally, there should be none.
The output test voltages seem rather on the low side but you just gloss over this, which gives the impression that you do not want to upset whoever it was that sent you this tester, because you got it for free.
The battery level indicator shows that the batteries you are using are far from optimal.
This could be because you are using NiMh rechargeables which typically have a lower voltage, even when fully charged, than your regular alkaline types.
Unfortunately, we don't get to see what type of batteries you are using, which is just another problem with this review.
Is it because your batteries are low or wrong type that you are getting these low output voltages ? We shall never know.
Also, you accidentally left it in continuous mode at 1,000V which speaks volumes for your competency levels.
I'm sorry but for me at least, this review was a fail.
All the best.
I know you can do better.

Out of curiosity has anyone licked there fingers and tested body insulation? I've been told it's great for Ross River virus. Apparently! Lol 😆. Don't try it!
Stop using haters gonna hate, sounds like what a liberal would say
