I've been studying my Mother-32 for months, playing, improvising, songwriting - yet this video instantly taught me some brand-new tricks I'd never thought of. I followed along in rapt attention. This has been one of the coolest instruments of my life. thanks for the tips!!!
This is why I love the VC MIX knob. It allows us to increase the number of sounds in the most creative ways! Plus when it gets added with KB, this turns to beast mode!
Best modular programming video I have ever seen. This shows what non trivial and interesting things a modular can do over a conventional synthesizer. Well done!
Congrats guys! This is an amazing video! Also, keep posting more and more patches and how they can affect the sound - this is great for new musicians on modular - also would be very cool to have a video series with 2x and 3x mother 32, once u guys sell the racks and a lot o people is using more than one mother, would be really cool to learn more about how to perform better with multiple machines!
This is so impressive, and a testament to the very smart design of the Mother 32. You put together a great collection of voltage tools for us; thanks Moog!
I had been planning on upgrading to a Subsequent 37 because I wanted more voices than my single Mother 32 provides, but this gives me fresh ideas to experiment on. Great job, guys!
Sub 37 is just a single voice. The paraphonic mode simply assigns the 2 oscillators with the ability to play them separately on different notes. Multiple voices = Multiples of an oscillator, filter, VCA, LFO etc.
excellent tutorial...would really like to see series of vids breaking down the patch bay in-depth along with some uncommon patching paths to discover new functionality...also, a detailed setup of a generative/krell patch would be great!
Great stuff guys! I love getting ideas from your videos! Please do future videos covering your large format modular gear!!! Specifically interfacing/controlling Moog IIIC or other large systems with other smaller keyboards like sub37cv
Damn that's fucking crazy, I remember as a kid trying to figure out all the weird little tricks I could do with my dd-7 delay pedal. This fool took it to another level
just got my new cable order. its time to finally be able to try this patch.. only took me one year to commit to buy a second pack of those expensive moog cables :D
Impressive. In the future could you please explain how to add a 2nd or 3rd oscillator from a second mother32 or other VCO. What is best to connect the output of any of the 2 osc to ext in, or the output of the filter or VCA from another mother into the ext in, to make a thicker sound? Thanks again
for some reason my default assign wasn’t set to accent and this mother was fresh out of the box. Im just writing this comment to let future viewers know that if your kick drum is doing weird things you may have to set your assignable output to accent.
Wow. That’s seriously mind blowing awesome. One question: I’ve been using DFAM w the Mother 32; is it somehow possible to still have my DFAM synced with the mother 32 considering that you have used the assign out of the mother for other purposes? Thanks!
im going to have to watch this 30 more times to figure out why all this works...
Mind blown
BANGER !!!! More complex patches with a single mother please :)
Love the work here : still got lot to discover with my mama
Thx so much putting this up. Cool how an UA-cam vid that is a few years old still has a lot to offer today. This was cool.

No idea this was possible with the mother32 very impressive!
Same here, mind blown, looks like an afternoon sequencing is in order.
Most people who complain about the restrictions of the mother32 havent seen this video
I’m back from the future. Understand this patch more now and appreciate how clever it is. Sounds great too. 🤩

i like this easy very intuitive way of making simple music ready to storm the charts

Thanks Jeremy! We'll be coming with future videos interfacing multiple Mother-32's : )
Moog Music Inc *Antonio hehehe
Yes! Love this series! Can't wait to see more! Would love to see patching how-tos with multiple mothers!!!
Well, you just taught this old dog a new trick... Thanks!
This just changed my entire world.
This series has been great. It's inspired me to get my two Mother-32s back out after a long time on the shelf. Thanks!
just had to say love the Blood Meridian copy sitting there.
such a dark book to accompany this demo
He is dancing, dancing (to the synth jams)
This is so impressive, and a testament to the very smart design of the Mother 32. You put together a great collection of voltage tools for us; thanks Moog!
Excellent! Thanks for posting this!
That's sick - killer demo...thanks!!
4:05 add accents to initialize second sound in sequence
4:41 add snares
5:45 kb mode
There is no way I would’ve figured this out on my own.
You’re not work at their lab, you are all excused 😊
the way is YEARS of trying it out. I haven't really experimented a lot with the Mother, but whatever makes us happy :D
Really clever programming, I'd love to see you guys make more vids of innovative patching styles
I had been planning on upgrading to a Subsequent 37 because I wanted more voices than my single Mother 32 provides, but this gives me fresh ideas to experiment on. Great job, guys!
Edit: I still want a Subsequent 37.

All your examples are fantastic. my go to for when I get stuck in the ditch with my octomoog
Whoa, that's just sick! 😳Best Mother 32 video I've seen to date!👏🏾
This was the best I’ve seen... if y’all could post one on how to get a nice plucking synth sound that’d be amazing.. thank you guys
Intellectulux compleximus maximus - Well done and Thankyou.
THANK YOU! Even after a few months with the Mother-32 this helped me get the coolest sounds yet :D
So happy right now, this is awesome, big thanks!!
This blew my mind. I was fully unaware what the M32 could do! Time to go back to school on this bad boy!
Very nice! And Blood Meridian too! I'm impressed.
This was fun to replicate! And, BTW, 'Blood Meridian' (partially visible on the left) is one of the greatest books of our time.
Awesome. I feel like I leveled up watching this.
excellent tutorial...would really like to see series of vids breaking down the patch bay in-depth along with some uncommon patching paths to discover new functionality...also, a detailed setup of a generative/krell patch would be great!
Wow, talk about getting the most out of the patch bay. Stellar job!
Excellent! This will keep me busy for a while.
Wow. Amazing thinking behind this. Love it.
Very interesting, my friend. I see there is more to mom than I knew!
Very useful.The variation has expanded.
Thanks!!
Great stuff guys! I love getting ideas from your videos! Please do future videos covering your large format modular gear!!! Specifically interfacing/controlling Moog IIIC or other large systems with other smaller keyboards like sub37cv
Noted--Thanks for the feedback!
My jaw is on the floor. I'm going to do this and hope it stretches my mind.
This is great! I just had so much fun with mine!!
Great tutorial. The m32 is a stand alone instrument, awesome stuff.
This is awesome. Hopefully you guys can make a video with the Mother 32 and the Moog Minitaur via CV
Noted--Thanks for the feedback!
Blowing my mind right now
This is completely sick if you know its a monophonic synth. Well done!
paused every 20 seconds and repeated but i got through all of it eventually. the m32 is seriously impressive.
Same - but were you able to do it all with the amount of leads they give you in the box? I'm short one (unless I misread the demo).
Superb patching!
I would love to see and or hear some more demos post patch production. Different melodies and such.
This is fantastic!
Need more than 5 patch cables... I've ordered them. Nice, I look forward to doing this. I was all smiles and then boom I hit a brick wall.
Same here I need more cables haha!
please do more of these
Damn that's fucking crazy, I remember as a kid trying to figure out all the weird little tricks I could do with my dd-7 delay pedal. This fool took it to another level
Awesome video, please more complex patches for single unit!
This is brilliant and well explained. Thank you.
I’m going to give this one a try. Thanks for the video!
Wow. Amazing.
The Cormac McCarthy is a nice touch...
very creative use of the accent out cv !!
I basically came up with a poor man's version of this on accident... but having it explained to me really opens up a *LOT* possibilities!
Thanks!
Oh Mother32 - how deep is your love?! Constantly learning new stuff about it 🙏
Can’t wait to try this
Fantastic!! Also, I want to add that it also works perfectly on the Behringer Crave :D
crazy.well..back to work i guess.that was genius.
Thank you! This is wonderful!❤️👍
This one’s amazing
That was pretty ingenious I've got to say.
Thank you!! Amazing!!
Mind blown! Thanks!!!
Great!
If I had known I could do all this, I wouldn't have got a second one.
I jest. Now I want a third.
Have learned a lot! THX!
Great stuff!
There is no such joy in the tavern as upon the road thereto.
Impressive!!
Damned excellent. Got me thinking in a new direction. Lets see what I can make two M32's do.
Wow!
I'm interesting in seeing some ideas on ways to patch two or more mother-32's together
Great suggestion Paul. We will be releasing a video soon covering how to sync multiple Mother-32s. Stay tuned!
Fantastic Video Still
Brilliant!
unbelievable!
I had no idea! I have 2 mother 32’s - would love to hear what you can do with 2!
We've got videos with 2 Mother-32's on the way ; )
8:16 when it all came together, thank you
Really cool man.
amazing man
Ran out of patch cables half way through :(
just got my new cable order. its time to finally be able to try this patch.. only took me one year to commit to buy a second pack of those expensive moog cables :D
This is super cool! is there a way to get rid of the high pitched ring that happens on the snares?
Amazing... one of the best instructional videos on YT! This should sell more products.
Would love to see a tutorial on running two Mother sequenses in sync!
I own a mother 32 and I didn't know it was possible. Thanks a lot🙏 Could you make a video how to sync the Mother 32 to the Moog Subsequent please.
oh and btw it's the first time in my life that i consciously acknowledge the LFO for what it truly is...another oscillator.
holy shit this just melted my brain
Oh, I need this.
...do it :]
WOW, very awesome
7:07 wow. always plenty to learn and explore. it's a full instrumental
Impressive. In the future could you please explain how to add a 2nd or 3rd oscillator from a second mother32 or other VCO. What is best to connect the output of any of the 2 osc to ext in, or the output of the filter or VCA from another mother into the ext in, to make a thicker sound? Thanks again
Hey Adrian. Thanks for the feedback. We are working on a video that covers how to integrate multiple Mother-32s. Stay tuned!
for some reason my default assign wasn’t set to accent and this mother was fresh out of the box. Im just writing this comment to let future viewers know that if your kick drum is doing weird things you may have to set your assignable output to accent.
thx, right, now I have accent !!

U prob sold me on one now. Is this patch also possible on the dfam and on the grandmother?
That’s how you explaining patching!
