Thank you so much dear @trenor bravo … indeed I could reassure that since this 10yrs old video, I’ve learnt so much since then and continue to learn even more about my entrusted gift. Thank you so much for your very kind comment. I pray all is well with you and all your loved ones🙏🏾💖
This is God's creation and God's family for sure. God bless you Pretty and yours. Really awesome. I cry my tears listening to you. Blessings and blessings for generations.
High E is the last note she sings! It's also called "Mi sovracuto" and it's situated in the sixth octave of a piano (if you speak using american denomination) or in the fifth octave of a piano (if you speak using italian denomination).
What a dynamic, unique interpretation of this aria - a generous performer. I could only imagine how she'd sound in a few years. Why did some people take the time to sign-in and indicate a dislike even if she didn't hit every note - curious. Sometimes "perfection" could get in the way of a good thing. After reading some of the technical critiques of the performance, I understand what Keats meant by, "Beauty is truth, truth beauty," - that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know." Even Freni, one of my all-time favorites, had to start somewhere.
She's a beautiful girl with a lot of potential, but this music is for a dramatic coloratura soprano, and she omits lots of trills as well. She would be great with Puccini and Strauss though.
Thank you so very much for king comments. Indeed I agree with you with regards to the trills… I believe from this since then…my attempt of a tru trill have been most successfully promising 💖🤗
i just recently went to the met,to see her in l elixir d amore by the great donizetti!!she was very very good, her has growth since 2010 for sure!!she sounds much better she is a lovely young woman!!a soprano for our times!!thats i have to said.
most of the comments were ok buh to all the haters ur a bunch of hating ass wholes this girl can sing she simply sounds outstanding, plz dnt show your jealousy by hateing jus dnt comment if you dnt have anything nice to say!! sweety you are awsome and you inspire me to continue on with my gift in opera music!
Nice of you to admit that she has talent, having previously criticised her and damned her with faint praise. Your rather harsh comments, including the dismissive one about early Verdi are unnecessary and unhelpful. This is a popular aria sung by many of the finest singers and it is a charming (if not perfect) performance.
Her voice and the heft to it is perfect for this aria. Just slightly screeching to hit the high E. But not every soprano always hits the bullseye every time.
Very wonderful and very promising. I think that her more recent performances of Bellini and Rossini are a better fit for this voice than this. To my ears, she seems to over-darken the bottom of her voice here and, as a result, the top and the freedom of the coloratura suffers. However, this is an instrument with a great natural facility with coloratura, and I do think that, though not totally successful here, this E natural has a lot of good, RARE qualities. Looking forward to hearing more.
There are quite a few videos of Pretty Rende on UA-cam and some of them are quite impressive, including passagework and hiogh notes sung with ease. I don't like anything tro do with Bocelli or Rieu. She certainly showed up Bocelli in their duet.
Some people think that opera died in the 50s and that no today's singer can compare. You know like old people talking "but in our times....". You could probably find the comments from these same people who are nasty to her directed to virtually all contemporary singers. She has a wonderful voice. The videos from her recent Met debut are spectacular. I am so sorry I missed her Met performances, but I'll sure try and see her live as soon as she is back at the Met.
And my point is, someone as talented as Ms Yende (and someone with as much PR as Ms Yende) owes it to herself to sing repertoire that compliments her, not points out her weaknesses.
Tempo démesurément rallenti sans doute pour faciliter la tâche de la demoiselle ! cet air est hors de ses possibilités... elle est soprano léger , son médium est inexistant et ses vocalises très scolaires...
Obviously a beautiful singer. But this Verdi Aria is beyond her current technique. Hitting pitches is not mastering a piece. Perhaps later as she matures. Verdi is not for everyone.
This devilishly hard music to sing, but she has more than mastered it. Pure beauty. Pure genius.
WOW..She is very original, unique, and fantastic. She has a wonderful future. Thank you for sharing this Beautiful video clip. · Que bella voce.

It's a pleasure to hear this irresistible aria sung with such a voice, and to see how much delight she takes in the singing.
This is God's creation and God's family for sure. God bless you Pretty and yours. Really awesome. I cry my tears listening to you. Blessings and blessings for generations.
Thank you so very much. Your kindness in your words brings me great comfort 👏🏽 God Bless you too💖💖
So great thank you

Actually the last note is A. The high E is the one just before that. ;-)
She has Drastically improved since 2010 when this was recorded. Look for more recent videos as this doesn't do justice to how she sings currently.
Amazing

Very beautifully sang, very proud that she is a South African!

Why try to sing a high E if you don't have it?
Brava!

-Ttrès bien agilita,-Shi singing a Es in alto at the end-Brava -Thank´s for the posting "panovp -
beautiful voice ...beautiful women...
danke
My point is that even Freni, one of my favorites of all time, had to start somewhere.
Great colour....
Listen to the clip from the Met and hear what happens when you hear Florez after Yende has sung! (Bring on Brownlee.)
Wow!
Very good indeed, but she has to pay attention to the repertoire that suits her best.
wow, she's so gorgeous. and she sings fine too.
That´s amazing --she singing a high Es in alto-BRAVA
I hope you have a contract somewhere at a major house..... I really like your talent..
WOW!!!
And my point is, someone as talented as Ms Yende (and someone with as much PR as Ms Yende) owes it to herself to sing repertoire that compliments her, not points out her weaknesses.
excellent voice with good understading of the piece with nice pitch.
Tempo démesurément rallenti sans doute pour faciliter la tâche de la demoiselle ! cet air est hors de ses possibilités... elle est soprano léger , son médium est inexistant et ses vocalises très scolaires...
I don't think so.
YEAH QBV.
Obviously a beautiful singer. But this Verdi Aria is beyond her current technique. Hitting pitches is not mastering a piece. Perhaps later as she matures. Verdi is not for everyone.
So unsuited to her voice. Listen to Sutherland or Callas sing it
yes I think a lot of people here don't know OPERA and never heard how SHE should be sang
technique my foot....it simply sounds good. Reminds me of Cerquetti
No. this is the real McKoy.
Una Tebaldi un po' + scura. Brava., si farà!,
@Tony Dapano your jelly. Shut up and enjoy
she needs to study technique.
horrifying
Who is this? Not a major voice!Italian sounds like a language from somewhere?Fights to get into acuti -pitch?Uneven scale needs to go back to studio.
+John Schmid you don't know shit about singing.
Yep immediately back to the studio pleeeeease
Sorry, that's not her cup of tea.
it is not your cup of tea.
Yep... Only Maria Callas can do this the way Verdi wanted it.
you are quite right ! this is dreadful ! if you can't sing opera, no matter , then sing jazz!
