Climate Outlook: Kansas at 2C

  • There's a lot of variation across the state in the climate projections for Kansas. In this video I point out some of the challenges and strengths as we look to the future for Topeka and Wichita, with a few extra notes for our friends in Lawrence, KS.
    Kansas is looking at some challenging heat increases in these projections, but the drought trend is not anywhere near as bad as we saw for Oklahoma next week. This is not a pleasant outlook by any means, but I do think Kansas may have enough edges to hold, here. This may well be an outlook within adaptation range.

    "Dust Bowl" made my heart skip 😢 Prairie grasses specifically, have roots that go roughly 5' into the soil, hopefully people will consider growing it so we don't have another another one.
