      I've seen these bikes converted to a single round headlight and I must say it improves the looks (for me) tremendously. Great looking, beautiful bike with an odd headlight design. Every generation they make 'em look better, but it still looks like a predatory insect; Which does look 'cool,' but not pretty.

    If you get this bike. You will not be disappointed. I’ve been riding my dads 2020 and it’s a blast. I’ve got a CBR650R and compared to this it’s pretty lame. My bike is still fun but not torquey at all compared to the street triple. And the street triple you feel like your racing and ready to go at any RPM where with mine it’s only really actually fun and pulls in higher RPMs.

    Bought my 2022 R 3 weeks ago and have managed to already blow past the first maintenance. Coming from a long line of cruisers, all Indian, this bike is a whole different level of badassary. I was going to get an Indian FTR but I wanted to try a bike from across the pond and I haven't been disappointed at all! It's hard being nice to it until I'm past the final RPM break-in recommendation. This bike just screams light speed.

    Cracking bike. These are meant to be a better road bike than the RS due to more torque being lower in the rev range. I for one favour the move away from the TFT as Triumph owners have had issues with them failing. This would definitely put me of buying a street triple with a TFT second hand.

    The horn is in the proper position where your thumb naturally rests near it, unlike Hondas where the horn is above the turn signals and you have to look down to find it.

    • @kleinbottled79
      @kleinbottled79 3 роки тому +2

      Yeah Honda are the only ones that switch the two that I'm aware of. Thing is, after riding one for a while, I think Honda are on to something. In 3+ years of riding in Southern California, I've used my horn exactly once and in retrospect it was pointless. Pulling in the clutch and revving my motor is significantly louder anyways. The turn signals, however, get used constantly. Having your thumb rest naturally near the blinkers is nice, once you get used to it.

      The Street Triple is perfectly fine as a one bike does it all, unless you want to go off road anyway! I had this one for 2 weeks and rode it everywhere including commuting. No problems at all. @@coastalrider1155 I'm not a pilot so it's difficult to feel the difference between the Ohlins on the RS and Showa rear shock on the R. The TFT dashboard is beautiful but unfortunately the rev counter is difficult to read on the RS. Despite a bit less power, the torque is even a little bit more consistent at the middle range on the R and about the choice of tyres, the Supercorsa on the RS are better than the Diablo Rosso 3 on the R but the Diablo will last about twice as long. Finally, I'm doing some renovation at home so, with the difference of price, I can by a few stuff. 😉

    I've a 2020 Street triple R, I was gonna upgrade my 2018 R for the 2020 RS and after riding it ,it was definitely an improvement on the original RS and I was about to go for it when the dealer asked if I wanted to ride the new R first, thankfully I did and still found the R a better road bike with still better mid range, I do miss the TFT but the two way quickshifter more than makes up for it ,I also fitted bar end mirrors and a seat cowl.

      Interestingly, the new RS makes 2NM more torque 50 rpm lower than the R. So the RS now has more power and torque and lower than the R. I guess they really wanted the RS to be the best in all areas.

    Man it’s the bike I desperately want with each and every one of my sinews, but it’s too fucking expensive for me to afford. Almost decided to take a plunge with an expensive loan for a second hand one but finally decided to get a CB300R which is what I could actually afford 😅

    so to get the weight off your risks , just use all the 116 BHP and make the wind pressure push you backwards ?
    and then explain that to the policeman as he (or she !) gives you a speeding ticket, "But officer, my wrists were aching , so I had to go fast to relieve the pressure on them !!"

  • @GeraldGarcia

    Would this be a worthwhile upgrade to the current SV650? How is it on lower speed city riding and commuting? I mean 95% of the time I am not hooning, and I don't do track days so maybe I'm not looking at the right bike? But the build quality and performance can't be denied and it's specs, electronics and price is in the Goldilocks zone, that's why it's in my shortlist. Great review as usual by the way. I like your format e.g. the proper insertion of glossy b-roll. Cheers!

    I got the same bike and i love it. I can confirm everything you say.
    The only thing that is different are the riding modes, in only have 2, rain and road.
    I went back to the dealer for the first oil change and asked them, also told them that the website says 3 riding modes.
    They have checked it and they say that’s because it haves the same dash as the triple S.
    Don’t know what to think of this, is the sport mode better? Do i need to take this back to the dealer and make a fuzz about it?
    They are nice people and the they seem very honoust.

    Hi from France!! I'm hesitating between this bike and the honda 650r (both 2023 models). I am aware engine is different. First I thought of the cb1000r but what to do on simple road... Too much power I think. I owned a cb125r and it was such a cool bike, so reliable. I now have a sv650. I've heard Tiumph was not as reliable as honda and this triumph a bit harder to handle than the honda. What's your opinion? Love your review.

    Hey Dan, great video, no bs and to the point.. Could you tell me what the difference between 2019 r, and this 2021 r ? Is it rider modes or other ? Btw, you can spin the mirror bit around 90 degrees, it’s then about an inch narrower. I like em as they are, cats whiskas, rather a mirror hit than the bars..

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  2 роки тому +1

      Hey, if I remember correctly the 2019 R had more torque than the RS but less bhp. It also had a fancier dash. The new 2021 R has less power and torque than the RS and a much simpler dash from the older models. There's probably other changes to things such as suspension but it's been a while! Thanks for watching!
