Really came down to some key moments at the end there. Losing the oracle, sending both void rays home. Showtime had his outs, goddamn was it ever close.
His downfall has to be when he allows serral to continously harass his middle base and doesnt go all in when serral is out of anti air
In the original stream you can hear ShoWTimE shout "What the fuck dude?!" at Serral at the end and Serral gives him that cheeky smile of his as a reply.
This was, from start to finish, a masterclass of pure PvZ aggression
Serral is unreal. The most impossible comeback of impossible comebacks. Insane micro and decision making!

zero interceptors and no minerals means carriers are kinda not useful
@@hk-wt5iu yeah, and that is the most annoying part of Zerg army: combining with free units like brood lords, swarm hosts they can do infinite amount of damage without any resources in opposit of Protoss. Basically if you can't choke the Zergs fast enough then it will grind you down in the long run.

What an amazing and mind blowing performance from both players. Extreme precision on both sides and just the tiniest details made all the difference. Absolute blast to watch

Also I have no idea why he sacked probes the second time. He didn't even max out with the sack...

I know that showtime is on a different level but some of his decisions when advanced really hurt. That second probe sac, he didn't even max out with it. And rebuilding the gold base and then just leaving it, not once, not twice, not three times but four times in the late game just felt so weird. He has recall for his home base if his observers and scout see the enemy moving. Why not mine out the bottom base before you leave it.

Watching Showtime not attack for 10mins while Serral built back to max and lose the bottom base 5x was hairpulling to watch....
I mean, showtime can hardly attack into the zerg at that point. If Serral has the concave and the defensive position, it's very hard to win these fights.
Easy to say when there's no fog of war, though. That's life.
Showtime misplayed numerous times and this is the best game of 2022? Seral is a beast, sure, but if that is the state of the game, well I am not interested to watch the scene again. That was a boring match with another skytoss that still hasn't figured out how to win a lategame. On the other hand, it's a replay of SC2HL, tells me everything.

@@fragileomniscience7647 Carriers vs. Zerg are worthless, I'm amazed that we even see them at this level of play. Showtime would have better spent the resources on Stalkers, which says a lot about the state of late game Protoss.

Having run tests with stalker-phoenix colossus void combos, they even did well against the godawful lurker hydra corruptor BL combo.
Problem is:
The micro demand becomes insane. Try using phoenix gravity vs. lurkers while dealing with the hydras and BLs while blink microing, and microing colossi away and sniping with voids.
That is superhuman demand. Not to mention if you get sentries or templars.
Forget about microing drops by that point.
Meanwhile zerg has so many opportunities to screw one over and just controlgroup + A.
You know, if psy-storm did a proportional slowdown the longer units stay in, it would already help so much more without being too OP.
No need for zerg to cry, they then actually need skill to micro mutas.
As for this game, the carriers were a decision by greed, as Shows mine rate was nuts, and more were really not better, think about mobility, whereas yes, more stalkers wouldve been good.
And the observer management was short-sighted (pun intended). Either way, Show's ludicrously much better than me.

"Stalker-phoenix colossi void" is a trash army and not because of any micro demands but because it just sucks. Pretty much insta-lose vs BL, corruptor, ling.
Plus microing stalkers, phoenixes colossi and void rays is not very difficult at all even if you added in sentries(???) and HT which are both also very easy to control.
Also: "actually need skill to micro mutas". Obviously there's tons of skill required to micro mutas but it actually doesn't matter vP because phoenixes are pretty much a hard counter. The same way playing blink stalker disruptor takes a lot of skill to micro but will still lose against BL or Lurker.

Showtime just couldnt read the situation and it lost him the game. For 15 minute period all he had to do with push in with everything and win. as soon as serral tipped the balance he knew and immediately went on the offensive

showtime so poor at defending his gold base. basically guaranteed win if he doesn't keep letting it get killed. fucks off with his entire army to harass while it's obvious the gold base is the win/lose point for the entire game. odd seeing a game so well played, and then such a basic strategic error.

I feel bad for showtime, such a good game for him and then it fails in the final minutes of the game. Although i'm a serral fanboy, so i was pretty happy to see him make a lot out of nothing.

It seems the wall was paralysed with indecision by the latter half of the game. Bit sad seeing him picked apart for 15 minutes from a position of dominating advantage until he just had a meltdown.

I'm so happy at the state of P v Z, it's so much more fun to watch.
It's fun to watch Protoss building late game units only to be slaughtered by Zerg that have no end of counters to those units? Showtime outfought Serral for nearly the entire match, and had a huge income advantage but a few fungals and neurals were all it took to put an end to that.
@@cugamer8862 Guess it's a matter of perspective, I thought that Showtime threw the game hard by allowing those spells to land when he had high templars to feedback those spellcasters.
@@cugamer8862 And here comes the salty protoss player...... It impossible to beat skytoss as a Zerg outside of the top players. Showtime had the game all he needed to do was atack but instead he waited for over 15 min. And what would Zerg be able to do versues SKytoss if not even the best Zerg player would be able to beat it? I am a master 3 in Protoss and Zerg and a MAster 2 in Terrian...... NA d i am heavily dissapointed in your complain just cuz your a protoss....
Skytoss is litterally an A click while the zerg have to control 5 differents groups
@@helenagustafsson3653 I'm not a Protoss player, in fact I rarely play SC2 at all these days. I am a fan of the e-sport however, and I'm tired of seeing PvZ games where the high end Protoss units are completely eclipsed by Zerg units. TvZ doesn't have this problem.
Serral has a way of paralyzing the board for his opponent through constant counterattacks

I have to rewatch this game again because I was looking for best PvZ game of SC2. Sadly, with a fresh eye, Showtime made waaaay too many mistakes to allow this comeback to happen. He was sitting on up 50 supply with superior army at some point, but he refused to attack with main force for like 10 minutes, instead just throw away expensive units little by little, allowing Serral to gradually gain back army advantage. Serral obviously played incredibly from behind, but this is really most on Showtime screwing up.

I play World of Tanks and sometimes watch the online clan war battle matches. The commentators on the WoT games pale in comparison to those who commentate for the SC2 games. It is always highly entertaining to watch these commentated games.

Why does everyone have to overdo it with Serral. It was a good comeback but he was never that far behind that a comeback seemed unlikely.
Zerg has ruined this game since day one, never nerfed to a fair state. Even through years of static D forest and Swarmhosts killing the audience Bliz let that trash go all of HotS.
