Really enjoyed your video about Reeflex Pro, 12 minutes spent told me everything I needed to use the App. It's a very comprehensive app where the Apple camera becomes supplementary. Thanks mate.
My favorite camera app is Camera+ 2. I’ve had the original version since 2010 and the new version has some great features like Macro and day time slow shutter. I really like its editing suite, Lightbox. It allows you to make adjustments to just the subject or the background even if you didn’t take the picture in Portrait Mode. Reeflex seems to hit the sweet spot of features for free and the $4.99 isn’t bad if you want to add Slow Shutter.
Really nice video impressive explanation of this app, but this app change is not good anymore! Can you suggest other alternatives and thank you for the video🤩👏👏👏👏👍
Hi sir great video i am i conundrum whether to buy iphone 14 or samsung ultra because i want to use pro camera settings. Samsung has inbuilt pro settings and it also has expert raw app, does this reeflex app work fine in iphone i dont know which one to buy.
Not on the app but yes (I believe) on the phone with lens use. My lens set is currently on the other side of the world on loan. So can’t check but pretty sure.
This is a great tutorial thank you. I would like to know whether you think that this app (which is excellent anyway) is still necessary or advisable even after the improvements of the native camera in Iphone 14 Pro? It seems that you can make all that even using the iPhone 14 Pro native camera. Or you sill advice to have Reeflex also on iPhone 14?
Having been a Architectural Photographer for over 48 years, I recently purchased the iPhone 15 Pro. The apps I have been working with can't give me the sharp depth of field that is needed for my style of architectural / landscape photography. I'm thinking the only way is to focus stack a number of areas in the image ... any help that you can give. David
Yeah that can be challenging, especially with the apps, that lean into depth of field (as opposed to the generic camera app that tries to keep everything in focus). You could focus stack, but you'd need to rely on Photoshop for that. Why don't you use a Mirrorless or DSLR anymore?
To achieve separation of the subject from the background! I didn't find where I switch to portrait mode - shallow depth of field=open aperture=nice bokeh?
Well it’s a phone app so the results won’t be as impressive as a lens but the MF function is how you determine what’s in focus. But that’s in the video 🤷🏼♂️
@@RalphMayhewPhotography yes yes I understand but the blur is just not enough. Compare to other photo apps or even the iPhone camera app is a lot better in this field and that’s a big downside on this app.
Hi Excellent information given by you sir, recently I have purchased this app for my I phone 13. I tried to take few pictures on the app using motion blur, I could not get the clear image entire frame became blur bit Information on two exposure and focus buttons will help me Thank you
This application is not for shooting from hands, as the shutter speed is minimal one second, you need to remove it from a tripod, or put the phone, but not from your hands.
Hi Ralph, love the tutorial, but I am having a problem with the app with I just purchased. When I hold my I-Phone 15 pro-max [horrizontal] landscape and take a shot, the picture transfers to my I-Mac but in [vertical] portrait position. This does not happen using Apple camera app or the Pro Camera App. I have contacted Reeflex many times without answers. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks.
White balance is probably the toughest thing to wrap your head around for two reasons: (1) the Kelvin scale is a weird concept because color temperature numbers work backward compared to what we think of as “temperature” (2) the Kelvin adjustment wheel is a _compensation_ control; the lower numbers on the wheel tell the camera the image is too red or “warm” and the camera cools it down (makes it more blue); the higher numbers tell the camera the image is too “cool” and the camera warms it up (makes it more red). The Kelvin wheel does what we want but not for the apparent reason; we just dial low for blue and high for red.
Hi Ralph, whilst playing with this app, I couldn't find a way to get out of the settings screen, back to the camera. Can you advise please? Many thanks. Terry Davis
So what makes it the best iPhone Camera app? There's lots of apps out there that give you the ability to shoot in RAW or control settings. Also to unlock slow shutter modes it's $20 AUD or $10 annually.
I don’t get the option to select the telephoto lens in the app. Is that because I have an iPhone 12, or am I missing something completely regarding the set up?
Hi Ralph. I’m in uk 🇬🇧 just bought this camera App. I noticed it’s like pinch and pull for zooming in, where do I find a numbered zoom level please is there one? What’s the max zoom one can use without losing quality? Cheers ❤
