Hey Shayne, I had to update my 6 year old android as it wasn't able to get the latest updates and everything was slowing down. I saw one of your vids and long story short and (expensive). I'm now the owner of my first iPhone, a 13 pro max loaded with Reeflex, Even Longer, Adobe Lightroom and Snapseed. The only thing I didn't have to buy was a tripod as I have an old Manfrotto 055c that i used to use with my TLR. I live on a farm on the West Coast of NZ miles from anywhere. So no light pollution and great scenery...can't wait to start shooting!
G’day! As a pomme I have to admit I love your channel mate. Learned a load of stuff I didn’t know. Because of your reviews I bought a Ulanzi tripod holder and I bought this Reeflex app before I’d even finished the video! £2.50!!! Brilliant stuff. Keep up the good work mate. Love from the UK.
Just purchased this app on your recommendation. Going to be trying it out tonight here in the U.S. clear sky’s in my area tonight. Fingers crossed I am brand spanking new to this. Thanks for all the great info you provided. I use the iPhone 13 Pro Max as well it does great already.
I’m pretty sure for 2.99 USD it’s a deal. The price of a cup of coffee. However, for us in Brazil, it’s 27.9 BRL, the price of a full meal. If it only did ProRAW in long exposure/light trails mode.
Shayne, great video, can I ask as just bought this camera App, what settings would you recommend as best for good quality every day auto shots, Heif JPEG or ProRaw please? One of my sons is a Shane! ❤
Good evening from Germany, thanks for broadcasting this amazing app. Do you by any chance know if it can also do focus stacking? Similar to what Olympus can do in their MFT cameras.
Hello from Canada, just wanted to start off by saying your work is just amazing. I look at beautiful photos and videos and I get envious of the great pictures. I am turning 56 next month and I have always wanted to get into photography for myself not to make money and I will be honest I find it complicated with all the settings etc. Thought about doing some classes but then Covid hit so I didn’t bother but would love to try it. When I see or read about all these settings, lighting cameras etc it’s a lot and just throws the enjoyment out the window for me. I myself have a 1 terabyte iPhone 13 pro max so I know I have lots of room for pictures and videos. If I could somehow start with the phone and it got less complicated then I would move on to a camera. Anyways enjoyed the video 🙂
Your awesome nightshots and long exposures made me buy the app, I already love it ! I tried night city landscapes but get dashed light streaks, do you know how to get continuous streaks ? Congrats for your channel
Awesome mate. Yes, you can get around that. Thats why I like the full manual controls on this app. Set the SS to 1/1 and it will be heaps better. You may need to lower the ISO to do so.
Great video shayne, i will be getting that app for sure, question the lightning photo was that taken on the motion setting for five minutes, we are having cracking storms up here might be worth a play
Thanks mate, its the long exposure preset pack. If you join the channel membership (join button below the video) you actually get all preset packs for free.
It sure looks like a great app. It will be better when (and if) they add the Raw long exposure. The Even Longer app does the RAW quite well. The developers indicated that are adding a bluetooth control capability and hopefully a burst mode capability. That would make it a great overall camera app.
For sure mate. Its something they are working on now. Its a toss up between EL and Reeflex. They RAW is great with EL, the lack of manual control isnt. EL has just added somethign that Reeflex is doing with the preview, I will be testing it out shortly.
Hi Shayne, I am an 83 year old UK resident viewing this video. I have just purchased the App, but I have an issue as follows. I take a shot, view the shot in my camera roll, then decide to delete it. I then get the next pic in my camera roll, and have to click back twice to get access to the camera screen. Am I doing something wrong, and can you advise please? Other Apps I have allow access to the camera on most screens, and having to click back twice, means I may miss a valuable shot. Many thanks. Terry Davis
First off all I love to watch your videos! It’s Johan here from Amsterdam Holland living in Canada. I did made a variety of long exposure photos with a Canon 700D and now I like to experimenting it with my iPhone 12pro. I still have to play around with this Reeflex app, I only wonder with the high IOS setting, doesn’t your photo looks too grainy? Then I am also curious about the Even Longer app, isn’t that a better app than this Reeflex app also because you can shoot in RAW?
No the noise it handled quite well. Both apps are good mate. At the moment Even Longer shoots RAW. Reeflex will soon. There are things I like about one app over the other and vice versa.
I use a few mate. Either the manfrotto one I have been using for about 10 years, or the K&F Concepts one. I have done a video all about tripods that i use mate. You will certainly find what you're looking for there.
Bought this due to your recommendation. Such a shame though that the company isn't really sticking to the 'spirit' and rather than adding the feature to the app, has instead brought out a different app for long RAW exposure which you have to buy all over again.
Great video, can you advice me whether is better ProCamera or Reexpose for long shutter pics? Seems (but I could be wrong) that with Reexpose you can only shoot in RAW while on ProCamera you can choose between jpg or raw, is that right? Can you clarify this to me? Great video anyway!
Thank you. I have even longer (basic), I'm in doubt whether buying the subscription (actually cheap enough) to enable RAW on Eveln Longer...having already bought Reexpose...maybe I keep Reexpose for RAW and Even Longer for JPG...just an idea.
@@ShayneMostyn I need your advice: if I take a long exposure pic with, let's say, even longer, at night but WITHOUT light trails, let's say a monument (illuminated), should I use motion blur (which is recommended for daylight use I think) or use Light trail mode? I’ve been trying Reeflex as an alternative to slow shutter, based on this video. One thing I can’t get it to do is save a long exposure photo as anything but a jpeg. And it won’t save the metadata to the photo. Any suggestions on settings I might have missed. It seems more involved and less point and click than slow shutter
you're not missing anything mate, its JPEG files for long exposure at the moment. RAW is coming in the future. I have asked the developers about the metadata. I generally dont look at it, so I wasnt sure. I dont think this is comparable to slow shutter. This is much more customisable.
@@ShayneMostyn thanks for the reply. I’ll keep on tweaking the settings to try to improve my shots. I just need to remember which one I used.
Hi, I bought the app and it is fantastic...As for the lenses and case; well I dont want to be the ˇbad guy˘ but i saw exactly the same lenses (most of them) and cases (color and material) with different brand logo on them on aliexpress... hopefully they are not just repacking same stuff and selling it a lot expensive....maybe if someone is buying them, could get one from aliexpress too and see if it is the same stuff or not...but anyway they sure look nice and promise a lot......would love to get them and play around....
