Cheers tug, I think she is all trimmed now, just trying to land in a 6ft wide piece of short trodden grass was difficult, definitely not flying at the bottom of the field again I will go to the top of the field on the downland where the grass is very short...jeff
@@Isleofwightr.c-ec2ef You did very well. 6' wide runways are very hard to land on with out the wind. I have done it more than a few times but with STOL type models where you can crawl to a landing. That Twin Otter is a great plane to be sure but not a STOL. You flew very well just to come that close.
Congratulations on the maiden Jeff. Nice little plane the Twin Otter, looks a bit like my Twinstar. You flew it well considering you were up against the long grass situation. Well done. Regards Aidan
Cheers jeff, she's trimmed up it was trying to land in a 6ft wide piece of short trodden grass, will fly at the top of the field on the downs, this part of the field is definitely bush plane territory...jeff.
As Martyn said, keep the flaps up on landing especially a windy day. It does cause bounce. Have a wonderful summer. Just received my FMS Cessna 182 1.5m🇦🇺🪃🦘
@@Bellairvideo Cheers Noel, yes and not quite enough throttle and to long grass, will fly at the top of the field next time, looking forward to seeing the cessna182 maiden...jeff,
😅Congratulations on the maiden Jeff - grass is quite wild and its a big aircraft - if those People got out of the way it would be a good path (no pun intended) to make the approach on, your last landing had flaps up - could be the cause of that bounce.. looks OK, hope no damage was done.
Cheers Martyn, the wind was affecting the approach and trying to land in a 6ft bit of short grass was hectic, the last landing you can hear a crack, that was the nose gear but all fixed, will fly at the top of the downs where thr grass is very short...jeff.
Hi, yes it was a bit hectic trying to land on the short grass bit and with a 7 to 10 mph wind but the nose gear is fixed, will fly at the top of the field on the downs where the grass is very short but both these runways are on an uphill slope so landing can be difficult landing on a hill...jeff.
Absolutely wonderful. Always a pleasure watching you and your videos.❤🙏❤
Congrats on the successful maiden Jeff, beautiful plane.
Cheers wayne, was difficult with the long grass...jeff.
Once you get it dialed in shape is a dream to fly Jeff. Great Maiden.

Such a beautiful model! Not the best conditions for a maiden but you flew it well!
Cheers Alex, yes, i need less wind and shorter grass...jeff.
Well flown Jeff. A lovely twin indeed. A very nervy time with a maiden but these dissipate after the first few flights.🇦🇺🪃🦘
Cheers Noel, yes she flys very nice , as you say we learn a lot from the maiden flight...jeff.

Nice Plane Just a bit of a nightmare to fly in that location and that large growth of grass right in your patch. 😵

A lot of puffing and panting 😂😂. Looks to fly nice 👍
