Comfort of seating posture, leg room, knee room, 3 people can comfortably sit on a long drive with loads of boot space, which is only available on cars like Hector and Harrier, but it's expensive. 4. My highway driving is 60% and city is 40% so opted for 1.0 MT topline which was worth every penny at that price, it was powerful enough with mileage and drivable in city. Learn from people like matt watson, etc who are known in the industry for remaining true to what they do inspite of collaborations and advertisement.
The Virtus is an extremely good car, other than the quality of the plastics on the interiors. While not as reliable as Hyundai in terms of things that can go wrong, the service has improved by leaps and bounds from VW, considering the car is 90% manufactured in India. Spares are cheaper, service is also cheaper, especially with the service package. It is a much more fun car to drive, more stable on the road, while also giving some crazy mileage figures that no one expected from a VW. It is a good car and hence deserves the good reviews. Great review & presentation. This is what sets MotorOctane apart from other auto review channels. And you point about safety - bang on. I was so tempted to buy Kia Seltos but the 3-star rating was a bummer. So narrowed down to Tata / German cars. Thanks for this review
My Virtus high line is just getting ready for me to pick up on this Sunday! It’s Friday night and I’m damn excited! The test drive simply got me there. I was looking for Hyundai venue, Tata nexon, Mahindra 3xo and then I just thought let me try this one sedan when I went to test drive taigun But VIRTUS got me! It’s something I’ve never driven before! Such amazing feeling
Recently, I purchased a Virtus and have driven it for approximately 5,000 kilometers in the past month. During this time, I have observed a fuel efficiency of 28 kilometers per liter.
I drive a Skoda rapid and fuel economy in Bangalore traffic is easily 11-13 and on highways we get 15-19 On a full tank on a trip to Goa we did over 850 km and this included very bad highway patches and the entire time we were basting the AC on high. And frankly I am fine with this .. am sure virtus will be same if not better.
Must appreciate the localisation that VW/SKODA has made for India. First time, we are witnessing feature rich car, more leg room and decent work on interiors from VW/SKODA. I have test drove the car and it's superb. However, to match the long term reliability of Honda, VW need to prove itself for quite long time particularly on the front of maintenance costs, mileage and service experience. City has set unmatchable precedence for this segment.
If you want to see most accurate review watch review of any small creator who has that single car. That content creator will give you most accurate review of every single aspect of vehicle.
I have test-driven the Virtus 1.0, as GT version wasn’t available. It’s a really good car, although I will be going for the 1.5 GT one only. I agree with the points made in the video, but I would still like the Virtus GT to have the following features: 1. Height-adjustable seat belts - a big miss 2. Electrically adjustable seats - More precise and expected at this price point 3. Electronic Parking break - adds to the luxury quotient, and declutters the central area 4. Soft materials on the dashboard and touch points - adds to the luxury quotient Even the cars at cheaper prices, and safe ones like MG Astor are offering these features. VW needs to up their game.
Tears literally started pouring out of my eyes after completing this video.. Rachit is literally hunting down his typical VW image. Finally a video solely focussing on highlighting the strengths of a VW car. Now I see so much of a difference in your review video when Virtus was launched and 1 year post its launch. Hands down a more mature review just like the pioneers Autocar reviewers and unlike the typical Rachit who used to make videos like '5 reasons not to buy a VW polo.'

Bro, you shift a gear down, eliminate the turbo lag if you really want dive in, the thing is that you really need to understand the in terms of gears and their ratios and it really depends on how you shift the gears and you put the car in cruise under 1800 rpm you get good mileage age too, you have to think of the maintenance before buying the car,for me it's okay for the maintenance, you be good if you don't damage any parts and that too depends on how you take care of the car
Did a TD of the 1 L automatic today. Engine has a bit of a growl making it feel not even as refined as my manual 2006 City non iVtec engine. But power was sufficient to do quick overtakes and gear shifts were smooth and without a lag. Leg room at the back was awesome, ventilated seats good. No 360 camera or lane shift assist cam, suspension was bouncy - you’ll feel it more when u sit on the backseat. In short - it didn’t win my heart.
Drove the 1.5 GT DSG … WHAT A CAR !!! I Was smiling as soon as I put it in D and it moved forward. Super smooth engine and gear shifts. For some reason I found this suspension way better than the 1L and so did my folks in the back seat. Drove the Honda City yest and despite not being wowed by it, had almost made up my mind that I’ll buy it. The VW salesman who was in touch with me since the 1L test drive insisted I drive the 1.5 before booking the Honda and I’m so thankful for that. Will TD salvia also and choose between the 2. Looks wise I find the Slavia Lava Blue amazing, so if it performs the same I’ll go for that.
@@Amit_Khilnanibrother do you suggest the extra 5 lakhs worth for the 1.5 gt ( we were thinking the highline) we can wait 1-2 before buying a car so is it worth the worth a d the extra bucks?
@@vivansayshi totally recommend the 1.5 dsg … I was smiling all the while when I was driving it. FYI - I finally bought the Verna turbo top model. When my dad who is 5ft 10in sat in the Vertis his head would touch the roof so that was a deal breaker. As a package the Verna scored more but the drive was more fun in the VW 1.5 dsg. Another reason to skip the VW for me was the DSG itself … I have the VW polo and had an issue with the DSG for which I had to pay 45k repair charges. So can’t have 2 high maintenance cars in the garage. Super happy with the Verna DCT .. it’s been a month now.
@@Amit_Khilnani Isn't DCT just another name for DSG, and also a rip-off from the German DSG ?? Verna DCT, also a dry clutch is also susceptible to failures, don't u think?
I'm appalled😱, how come UA-camrs are not addressing the glitches so many VW/SKODA owners are facing & which is so much evident. I guess that is the reason why VW\SKODA are able to survive even with sub standard quality.
@Motoractane if the safety is so important to these people, why do they give indicator lever on left hand side of the steering?? You know how dangerous it is when driving in the city with changing gears?
Dude, that’s a very valid point. I have a Polo TSI which is an automatic, never really struck me that indicator lever on left would be a pain had the car been manual! Was contemplating Virtus manual but will have to rethink now coz I sure have been in situations in a manual when I’m on the highway - one hand downshifting gears and the other hand using the indicator.
I was on a highway with VW 1.0 TSI Manual topline, the same model as you see in the video, I actually got a chance to go against the venue 1.4 turbo petrol, the car was empty in the venue only the driver and I was with my dad in the Virtus, the moment he saw our car, he started trying to overtake, you can easily know, if a person is trying to overtake intensionally or not,and I understood how he got the Josh to gap a vw when I saw the turbo logo in red on the back of his car, hahah, I was in my fourth gear and never shifted a gear down or up,I literally smoked him, the venue was looking like an ant in the mirror😂, he's trying so hard to get hold of us but the moment he when he got half car length near to us, I floored the pedal and then left him in the dust again, 🤣my dad and I was listening some old classic songs of SPB, and was literally laughing to hell by looking at the expressions on his face😂,but he didn't stopped trying untill I again and again floored the pedal, patiently waiting for him to come near to us and then Boom 💥 again 🤣,then I understood he never got into a real race with a worthy opponent,me and my dad had lot of fun, and my dad was like , "chill, let go, you know he'll never get pass us,poor Hyundai" 🤣. And I also stopped as we were getting in a speed camera situation so, slowed down and changed my car the the left lane. Was fun never disappointed the stability in the corners when doing around 180+ kmph, was excellent. Little 3 cylinder engine has a lot more than I thought.

Confused between Virtus and slavia which one has best after sale service in Delhi ncr and less maintenance cost and which has best 1.5 dsg reliable engine. Kindly suggest
I live in tier 3 city. All the new sedans i see on roads these days is Honda even after release of Slavia or Virtus. Few Slavia sedans are seen though. The main reason for this is availability of service n maintenance n mileage. Most people look at above things than pickup n racing features.

In the whole video...he emphasised that it's been 4 months to the car but actually it's 10 months old.....and the car is registered under Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd...
Ground clearance needs to go down...say 165 around.max 170.....that gives the real sedan feel....Now it feels like polo sedan with suv position....Rather than A Characteristic Sedan....Rest all power is good...!!!
Its from the trip start. Every time you set it to calculate the mileage from the start of the trip, it starts from 0 and slowly makes its way up to a settled average.
My average city mileage is 8kmpl. But the comfort and reliability this car provides, I have no problem with that mileage. If anyone can’t survive with 8 kmpl mileage, definitely go for other brands car which provides average driving experience.

With the name of review Motor Octane has simply advertised the Virtus. No doubt Virtus is a very good Sedan. But that does not mean that Virtus has no negative points. You people should share the negative points also. Following Motor Octane from so many years. You people can do better than this..
I have a topline version 1l , milage in cities like Delhi Ggn is 7 -8. Highways you get much higher but I seriously doubt the milage shown in their meter as i beleive they are tweaking it
Downside According to me is only things, which is if you look at the back profile, the underbody parts are so much visible which doesn't looks good, the rear of the car is too much lifted.
I took a test drive of 1L manual Virtus and the clutch was NOT light. Seems like I was experiencing the clutch of diesel polo. The driver said it's currently very new and the clutch will become lighter after some time. Can anyone confirm?

I own a virtus and have driven more than 9.5k kilometres.. On traffic I get 9-11 kmpl.. Highways - 14-16kmpl. Have stretched maximum speed till 154kmph and car was rock solid (Pune Banglore - Madhurai Highway). I think this machine can easing achieve more than 175kmph at ease.
I agree with u.
You’re absolutely correct. I am driving 1.0 AT and having great fun.
With 1.5 ltr, I have the exact same figures for mileage. Also, even with higher taxes in karnataka , I feel this car gives you a bang for every buck if you can afford it. So far, at 5k kms , I feel I'm fully satisfied
Absolutely correct! I am a proud owner of Virtus 1.0 AT. 5000 Km completed on multiple terrains. Feels fun, reliable and secure. Value for money and best in class sedan with super classy looks.❤
Excellent video ! Please do a long term review of Slavia 1.0 as well 🙏🙏🙏

Besides that, people can post whatever content they want. You are no one to compare. If you like Matt watson, then go and watch him. No two people can be alike.
@@ShobhitTechVideo can you read? Where did I say anything about virtus being bad or me wanting features above safety? I have a Nexon and virtus(1.0 AT Topline) at home.

@@Eltonoconnor Believe me I know what kind of vehicle virtus is better than you buddy. It's the best sedan in its class hands down right now considering all the parameters. The way it drives and the confidence it exudes definitely makes it worth its price tag and then some.

I was looking for Hyundai venue, Tata nexon, Mahindra 3xo and then I just thought let me try this one sedan when I went to test drive taigun
But VIRTUS got me!

VW 💚 vartus 23 kmlp NH in automatic 💚
City drive 14/15 kmpl
What is the fuel average for city use ? Any Hybrid engine expected?
Must appreciate the localisation that VW/SKODA has made for India. First time, we are witnessing feature rich car, more leg room and decent work on interiors from VW/SKODA. I have test drove the car and it's superb. However, to match the long term reliability of Honda, VW need to prove itself for quite long time particularly on the front of maintenance costs, mileage and service experience. City has set unmatchable precedence for this segment.
WHAT a great Review of a VIRTUS . i Usually don't watch your Channel Regular ly but this video was recomded by a known trust worty Person.

I have test-driven the Virtus 1.0, as GT version wasn’t available. It’s a really good car, although I will be going for the 1.5 GT one only.
I agree with the points made in the video, but I would still like the Virtus GT to have the following features:
1. Height-adjustable seat belts - a big miss
2. Electrically adjustable seats - More precise and expected at this price point
3. Electronic Parking break - adds to the luxury quotient, and declutters the central area
4. Soft materials on the dashboard and touch points - adds to the luxury quotient
Even the cars at cheaper prices, and safe ones like MG Astor are offering these features. VW needs to up their game.
Which model of Virtus should I buy if I am planning to spend not more than 15 lakhs?
Full 100 points for this kind of salesman😂... carry on
Car buys should only consider two things at the time of buying, Engine Reliability & Safety....
Tears literally started pouring out of my eyes after completing this video.. Rachit is literally hunting down his typical VW image. Finally a video solely focussing on highlighting the strengths of a VW car. Now I see so much of a difference in your review video when Virtus was launched and 1 year post its launch. Is it really that good or paid promotion biased? I felt turbo lag and little vibration at idle. 1.5 is undoubtedly a gem but cant say the same for 1l.
This is a paid review, bud the lag is absolutely enormous. You don't floor the accelator to full in order to get moving
Verna turbo is truly savage though 😳 it's beating VW in their own game perfomance and handling and City in space and features 😱🔥‼️👏🏼👏🏼
DSG and DCT are same...
I'm appalled😱, how come UA-camrs are not addressing the glitches so many VW/SKODA owners are facing & which is so much evident. I guess that is the reason why VW\SKODA are able to survive even with sub standard quality.
What glitches?
what gliches?
Nice experience bro - just that Venue is 1.0 turbo :)

What about Engine, Maintenance costs, and Spare parts availability, the most important can local mechanic able to understand the circuit
Did no one notice the 3kmpl average?😅
Its from the trip start. Every time you set it to calculate the mileage from the start of the trip, it starts from 0 and slowly makes its way up to a settled average.
