As an aro I asked my mom and dad what kissing feels like and I didn't get a straightforward answer from them I never had a first kiss or kissed anyone ever period so I honestly don't know what kissing someone feels like but at the same time I find certain types of kissing very tame to very gross it varies
Being heteroromantic (though extremely demiromantic) AND sex-repulsed is an absolute horror. Not only do I not see myself as human (because no one else seems to) BUT I also can't find any other aces who know how dangerous Covid is and are actively avoiding it. THOSE are my people, except...really, I think that I am the only one on Earth. And so I watch UA-cam and read books.
There's an ace/aro community here in DC but we argued months ago about the lack of requiring masks in indoor spaces. I tried to explain that it's a form of eugenics and that protecting peoples' health and wellbeing requires everyone's cooperation and that we can't exclude people with immune or other conditions from society simply because we want to pretend like everything is "ok" or "normal" (isn't that what people do to us?). And all I got was "you can't expect us to go against social norms" (err...what?). I countered with "if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you?" but that didn't seem to be persuasive. It isn't a great time to be alive and though I'm only 41, I'm hoping not to live a long life at this point because I'm finished with humanity.@@lynnsaga1397

It can sometimes feel like I don’t belong anywhere, even though I have met some wonderful friends at a local LGBTQ+ socials group. Add onto that the fact I’m a geeky introvert with zero social skills and my chances of finding someone irl (even if they aren’t ace) to connect with romantically are practically zero.
Yes, I think one of the most difficult things about being Ace is not having IRL Ace friends or groups in my area. Especially being an older Ace over 40.
I wish more people were open about being Ace though. I've known some friends who've come and gone who might've been on the Ace spectrum. If they opened up a little, we could've been closer than we were. I have an openly Bi friend who I talk to and it's great ❤
