What is the relationship between writing system and culture?

Generally speaking, culture shapes the way we think, and the way we think affects the way we write. For example, English people tend to express their feelings, ideas and opinions directly in writing. Arab people, on the other hand, express their thoughts, feelings and opinions indirectly: they write a lot of words in order to say little. I hope this helps!
