@@BrianPhillipsRC I'm waiting for my Night Radian. I hope the wings are going to be easy to install,. I can't wait for this plane, Brian :) I love gliders. One thing though. I'm thinking of buying some better servos and clevis made from metal. Are there any good ones you can think of? Thanks for the video. This plane really looks great, but I don't mind only having rudders. Flaps would be nice though.
Always wondered what crow is and now I know. And thanks to your channel I have purchased my very aircraft which is the ranger 1220 rtf and look forward to it's first flight
Very cool! FPV is a fun thing, but keep in mind, it's hard to land...hard to understand WHERE (exactly) you are relative the ground. Pick TALL grass, or just land line of sight, if you want my 2 cents ;) Good luck!
Do you think a flight controller with a 21700 4S1P battery will fit there? And if there is an Air unit in the nose, it seems to me that the CoG will be in the front.
That battery is ridiculously huge. The wings are going to need to be reinforced, and you'll have to fly about 250 mph to keep in the air - LOL (might be a slight exaggeration) The plane flies on a 2200mAh if I recall...so just about 10X that size...no. She'll break in half. If you tried that, you would have to basically rebuild the plane. You CAN, if you want. You would have to re-engineer it to take MANY smaller batteries, like maybe place them IN the wings, but then you'll have to do so much work it'll destroy the plane, and what it's all about. If you do, please do share your results. Good luck!
@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks for the answer. in fact the 21700 pack weighs only 300g, and the size is 4x7cm. I've read that other gliders manage to fit 3 or even 4 of these packs. And the cruising speed is not that high. Okay, I'll look for another glider then. It looks like this glider is more designed for LOS flights..
The rudder doesn't respond in SAFE, but AS3X the Rudder will respond. If the rudder still doesn't work, see if the rudder works as an aileron or elevator if you plug it into another channel...then you can see if the wire (extension wire) is maybe unplugged, or if it's plugged in backwards - this will help you tell, then swap back the leads and test and re-test before you fly again. Good luck!
@@BrianPhillipsRCokay, for some reason i just had to give throttle for it to work. Now everything works, thank you so much for your advice and help Brian!!
Crow is a camber preset in sailplanes when you have the flaps go down and the ailerons go up to help both slow down airspeed and help lose altitude to allow for a precise landing…
@@loddude5706 Brian Phillips seems to like Sailplanes, but he sets them up all like traditional "acro" planes with the throttle on the left stick....Most "sailplane"pilots fly Motor Gliders with the motor control on a switch or button and have the flaps/crowbrake on the left stick so its adjustable as you land...
Great to know. That makes a lot of sense if you're 'feeling out' thermals/lift also I guess. Might have to give it a go and see how I get on.@@Fastfritz63
I am trying to setup CROW however does not show up in the menu of flaps. Am using iX12 with 637T any suggestions. Give me your phone no too if possible will call and love to you directly and get your suggestions. Am in Australia
Gotta watch the RADIO SETUP part (probably haven't gotten there yet, I imagine?). Your IX12 is gonna have very similar WING TYPE or AIRCRAFT TYPE, then from there you just setup things the same. I'm very sorry that the IX12 is not something I can speak with any level of authority, since I don't have one [yet] - very sorry about that!
Nice set up Brian. Very Knowable.

I learn a lot on your channel.
I'd like to FPV fly some planes I already own.
I had a lot of fun with with an ARF sailplane in the early 90s.

@@BrianPhillipsRC I am a novice who watches your content a lot. It's been a while since I flown. I'll restart this RC flying hobby shortly.
Hi Brian why do you have the plane upside down to do the centre of gravity?

I have a question, i did the safe setup exactly like you did, and for some reason my rudder did not do anything.

#1 Again... BUTT IT AIN'T 3M... 😜🤣😁😎
NAIL POLISH CHECK.....what's withe the gray nail?
BTW, now i know how baby planes are made!!🤣
Forgive my ignorance, what is 'crow'?

That looks very much like the ASW 17. Too bad they couldn't use carbon fiber instead of the metal sparse
You can check the Cg either way. Just depends on the size and balance of the different planes. Just whatever is most comfortable I found.
Yet another great review!!!However, I am disappointed. You’re not wearing your visor… It’s just not right at this point bud 😅
