It's a little different for everyone but in general, the bar should land somewhere between the lower ribcage and the nipple. Where ever it lands in that area should be fine as long as your elbows are pointing out at about a 45 degree angle. When the bar is at the top, it should be right over the shoulders.
Good video. I am constantly watching Bench videos trying to get to a raw 600 bench. I just started lifting weights at 51 years old and set my bench goal at 500 raw. I go that and then my goal was to bench 12 plates(585) raw. I got that this last week so I am moving up on my big goal of a raw 600 bench at 55 years old, natty. 15 pounds away. I stay on my toes and use a narrow grip. I used to be 1/2 my thumb in the smooth, and recently moved it to just thumb tip touching the smooth. Getting there. Thanks for the great bench video.
