  • Episode 4 - Back at the Ramp
    Episode 4 takes us 70 nautical miles off the Pilbara coast in the pursuit of some more exotic species. This trip had been on the cards for over a year, however the weather needed to be near on perfect to provide us with safe travel conditions.
    unfortunately, the weather report was way off the mark, and we found ourselves in less than ideal conditions. This didn't stop us from going hard at some of our favourite offshore species.
    Join us as Sticks dusts of the jigging gear to land some personal bests as well as ticking off a bucket list fish.

    Very impressive video! It kept me on the edge of my seat. No need to stress over the mishaps-they're all part of the fun. Props to Matty for some excellent camera work! I'd love to head out to Glomar if the weather plays along. Got a subscriber here straight up and looking forward to the next high-quality episode. Keep up the great work!

    Great video fellas! The Green Jobbies are certainly the highlight fish 💥 Any issues camping out overnight with airborne fish or boats passing by? We didn't get the chance to stay out due to time constraints but definitely wanting to next trip out for the extra fishing time 🎣 very daunting in an open boat though if anything decides to fly in 🐟

    • @BackattheRamp
      @BackattheRamp  Місяць тому +1

      Cheers mate!! It's definitely not a place you want to take any un necessary risks and I guess no one's immune from accidents. Luckily the shoal is out of the shipping channel which provides some comfort however you need to be very vigilant. We had three boats tied off on each other and we were all lit up like Christmas trees so we were very visible. I would only recommend going out in groups if considering an overnighter.

    • @andrewcole6361
      @andrewcole6361 Місяць тому +1

      Na no issues at all in the end ships steer away from the shoals and you would be bloody unlucky to have a whale land on ya haha

    Some nice fish guys and great video guys ….. the only issue I have is promoting going out there in a 5 meter tinny as mentioned the weather turned even though it was a good weather forecast and by promoting this video in a small boat you will have other Peanuts trying the same thing and your lives and your mates lives are not worth playing roulette with. Glomar is not a small boat destination and even large boats have been caught out there and having no where to run makes it very dangerous. The only saving grace I can see is that you were in the company of same larger craft which was a good thing …….. there was a recent video of a looney out there in a small craft on his own which is plain stupid…… keep up the good work though 👍.

    • @BackattheRamp
      @BackattheRamp  Місяць тому

      Thanks for watching mate. I think you answered your question here but we certainly weren't promoting anything dangeous. This was a very calculated with more than enough backup. Unfortunately, there will always be people that make bad decisions, but that's out of our control. 🍻

    • @andrewcole6361
      @andrewcole6361 Місяць тому +2

      Thanks for your reply mate.
      We plan this as Saftey as possible. Sat phones, couple boats, etc etc I have had my boat in some of the remotes parts of Australia mate and done trips much larger then this also. I do agree it has its degrees of danger but I know the capabilities of this boat and it’s built like a tank. Iv spent my life on the water so to me this isn’t really that dangerous. Although I would not recommend to others to do the same I probably should have had in there a little disclaimer stating the above.
      A lot of our content is going to be very remote and traveling very large distances in pursuit of dinosaurs
      I do agree with your comment though and appreciate the time you’ve taken out of your day to talk about it.
      Thanks mate

      @@BackattheRamp cheers bud it wasn’t a question more of a statement for those that are thinking that Glomar is a good idea in a 5 meter tinny …along the coast or even the Monties can be done in the right conditions in the right smaller boat but as you would know Glomar has no where to run for cover.
      There have been multiple crew that have been caught out there in large boats in up to 40knot squalls which were not forecast and they were rattled by it ….Great Video and keep it up 👍
