All at the hands of the Sri Lankan Government
These decades of violence continue to impact the Tamil people
That's why it's so important to name the Tamil Genocide and remember it

They removed all tamil people from the gov. job.... On street tamils were tortured and mistreated and some even were killed. the government didn't even consider tamils as human and never took action on them..These all the things that happened before the beginning of the organisation....Sir Prabhakaran did a non violence protest at his very young age...But no use in non violence....Then only he started his organisation.....He said in an interview that all sinhalese are not his enemy only who have racism in their head are his enemy....

Uhhhh as a eelam tamil whose parents both lived in the war areas like they lived in jaffna ... we know what he is saying is true. Eelam tamils have lived in sri lanka/eelam since the 3rd bc and wikipedia says that. Eelam tamils have every right to lanka as sinhalese do and I have seen you other comments about tamil homeland being tami nadu which is a joke. Yes, india allowed a state to be called tamil nadu that doesn't mean all tamils are from there. Also, please stop saying eelam is a sinhala country cause tamils, moors, muslims etc also live there. Now, about LTTE. LTTE didn't just come about and be like let us split our mother lanka. Honestly, tamils before the independence would never have thought of that as we tamils knew that eelam is a country for tamils and sinhalese. However, the SL government and sinhalese people at the time wanted tamils eradicated from lanka to make their sinhala country, Do you remember sinhala only act, tamils killed, tamils raped, tamils forced out their lands, tamils loss their jobs, tamils made 2nd class citizens, jaffna library burnt down, black july etc. This is why LTTE came about and this is why even to this day tamils respect LTTE as they fought for tamil's rights in their own motherland. If we could go back in time and stop the sinhalese government from doing this to tamils and you just treated tamils as your brothers and sisters ... then there would be no LTTE and no war and our mother lanka would have shone to the world. Now, don't tell me that the SL army only killed LTTE cause the whole world knows that the SL army and the gov commited a genocide to destroy all tamils in sri lanka. You can deny it all you want but we all know the truth. It is sad cause it just reminded all tamils again that even after LTTE was basically finished ... the army hated all tamils and killed civilians. This is why we remember tamil genocide day and Maaveerar Naal (rememberance of LTTE) which even the SL gov has allowed as long as we do it peacefully which is ironic as tamils do it peacefully but sl soldiers make choas as we remember our lowed ones and tamil sruggles. Please understand that tamils have long history in lanka, and just because we don't have many big temples like in TN where tamil culture and histroy was preserved... it doesn't mean there is no tamil history in lanka. Like the naga people are the ancestors of SL tamils ... naga means snake in tamil and nagas worshipped snakes and snakes is an animal closely related to lord shiva and tamil hindus are shaivam which means they pray primaryily to shiva. Also, the physical apperances just show that nagas could be the ancestors of sri lankan tamils. Please stop the bs about sri lanka/eelam being a sinhala buddhist nation cause it is these types of things that made tamils want tamil eelam ... like there are tamils in SL like you can try to kill all of them or wish they weren't there but they will always be in their mother lanka. Personally, if you ask me i don't want lanka split into tamil eelam cause my country is eelam/sri lanka but if the sinhalese don't stop abusing tamils and don't listen to the war crimes commited by SL army then war is inevitable. Peace is needed and for that sinhalese need to understand what the army did to tamils and not just listen to the propaganda news. Also, before that pandyas and cholas ruled lanka and they were tamil kingdoms. I am not saying stories - this is proper evidence. Tamil nadu and sri lanka were connected before by rama's bridge or adam's bridge - do you think no tamils many centuries ago didn't come to sri lanka. I know my history and one important evidence was when the sinhalese were doing archealogical work to find sinhala history they found a very old lingam statue dating back to centuries ago - whether you like it or not there is tamil history in sri lanka. Of course, over the years, tamil history has been destroyed by sinhalese to make sri lanka a sinhala buddhist nation. Anyway, history is history and how long we debate about it, it won't chnage and no one knows the exact truth. So let us come to the present now which is more important ... ltte may have been formed in 1976 but it became big and many tamils understoof its importance after the sinhalese being racist like in black july. Yes, 13 police officers were killed by ltte in the north but black july was the worst for tamils - thousands of tamils were killed. Like, if I was there are the time - I will be slaughtered just because I am tamil. You again keep trying to blame everything on ltte when the sinhalese people, government and army have done so much wrong as well. Also, don't tell me I am the young generation ... my parents were in the flipping war zones where bombs would be thrown at civilians, rapes by the sl army, everyone treated as LTTE, losing homes, land and peace ... they have told me everything. The final thing they want me to remember is that Sri lankan army and government hated tamils but LTTE weren't saints and tamil civilians respect LTTE for their efforts because they were in the middle of tamil tigers and the army where army hated all tamils. Oh and yes tamils live in the south i agree ... but not 2/3 and yes they can go and live where they want cause sri lanka is their country too. Now, the sinhalese can go and live in the north ... who said no ... I actually will promote it cause then sinhalese can see how tamils suffered as well by the hands of the sl army and both sides can learn their mistakes. However, gov is just taking tamil people's lands and giving it to the sinhalese which isn't fair ... if the sinhalese people bought it then fine but they can't just take. Also, to be honest, sinhalese don't want to come to the north and east cause well the war happened there and there is a lot of poverty. BTW, tamils are not racist/ hate the sinhalese. For example, my piano teacher here is a sinhalese and I go to her house every week before covid and we are good friends and I met a sinhala girl here and she just openly started talking about the war and accepted that racism by the sinhalese caused LTTE to come up but LTTE were bad as well. All we need is peace in Lanka and for you to say that there was no genocide in the last stages of the war, tamils don't beling in sri lanka, sri lanka is a sinhala buddhist country for the sinhalese - will cause anthor war.
