Solid video! C tug owes you big time! I never would have managed the straps without your detailed instructions. It’s a very nice cart, but the mfg fell far short on strap assembly instructions.
Thank you for recommending this model and vid to set it up hassle free. I went on Amazon and ordered one right after seeing this the other day and just watched it again to set mine up.
Thank you so much for your time, really appreciated your attention to detail and not going to fast for us viewers 😊 moving the straps around with camera angles helped to take in how it's done.
THANK YOU for showing both sides of the straps. I break out in a cold sweat whenever I'm forced to put together straps, and I also don't retain information if someone says "do the same thing on the other side." Very well illustrated.
Thanks for this. Just got this as a Bday gift and everything was straight forward till I picked up the straps and my instant reaction was what in gods name? Looking forward to trying this out. I was concerned at the sheer size of the ctug when I seen one being used but now that I see how it breaks down for storage I can see what a slick bit of kit it actually is. Cheers.
Thankyou so much for explaining this process, the straps are a wee bit tricky but you made it easy peasy.....and thank you for talking with ease and not speedy or yelling....and wait there's more..... thankyou for not having pumping unrelated music playing....I don't want to dance I simply wants to put my trailer together and not have a breakdown trying to put the straps on the. And then go for a paddle....big cyber hugs to you...🙏😘 Shanna
Thanks Shanna! Really appreciate the comment and I’m glad you found the video easy to follow. There’s no time for dancing when there’s time for paddling! 😀😎
@@CornishKayakAnglerwow! Thank You for replying back.... I am still yet to try the new trailer out....the weather in Australia hasn't been all that good, supa windy, I don't mind paddling in the rain but the wind takes the fun out of it... hopefully soon🙏
Thanks for the comment! It is most definitely a trolley here in England, even though it says cart on the box 🤣 glad you found the video helpful, happy paddling 😀
This video is so much better than the instructions that came in the kit! Thanks so much for making this video! The instructions with the straps was very well done and super helpful!
I haven’t had the chance to use it yet but I see why it is popular. My wife ordered one and we’re sure to get a second. Thank you greatly for the instructions. The assembly was pretty straightforward but the straps we were left on our own. The instructions say “install as shown” you made it clear and easy to complete and about the storage inside the kayak holes I was unaware. Thanks!
thank you very much for taking the time to show how that went together I can honestly say I was doing a completely backwards thank you and good fishing
Well done video! Your strap instructions are not only better than the manufacturer’s, but also much easier to follow step-by-step. I’m very grateful to have found your video!
Thanks for the video, very helpful. So many people I see put this strap together wrong and then it loosens up and the wheels fall off the kayak. They blame the straps and say they the straps don’t work. If you put the straps on properly like this video you could pull a truck without them coming off. Love the C-tug and the straps that hold my Kayak on with.
Thanks for the video. I’ve been trying to find a how-to for the straps but could never find one. Your instructions were clear and the video was very illustrative. Thanks again.
Tried several videos, still struggling. Found your video ... brilliant! Walked right along with your video and got it first time perfectly. Excellent explanation!
God bless you, kind sir! I’m one of those weirdos who actually enjoys furniture assembly (including IKEA!), and I’ve assembled more things with more parts than I could even start to list…but this had me stumped. Wish I had found this video before wasting half an hour or so feeling like a complete idiot, LOL.
Really helpful, I got mine s/h without instructions so the locking of the wheel toggles and disassembly of the main frame was news to me, this will make a difference, thanks very much
Great vid👍🏻 I watched it because I couldn’t remember how to disassemble the cross-arms. I purchased a C-Tug about four years ago. Fantastic bit of kit, and still going strong. I wish you had this vid out then, as I did struggle (a lot) with the straps 😀
The official instructional video for the strap installation was actually wrong, they missed an entire thread on the belt lock. Thanks for posting the correct directions!!
Thanks for the comment Dan. The instructions are definitely not clear, and I also don’t believe them to be correct! Never had an issue doing it the way I show in the video 😃
You just got my subscription buddy, that was the most fantastic tutorial on those stupid straps that I could find. I was killing myself carrying that kayak back and forth to our lake.
Thanks a lot! Didn't think it would be so vital to thread "specifically", but it is. My first 2 attempts on my own and it slipped and came undone. Thank you.
4:30 My hook things won’t flip so I can’t put the wheels on but this helped me get an idea of what to do and helped me a lot! Thank you for this useful tutorial!
Great explanation. Exactly what I was looking for with the straps. Perfect. Railblaza should pay you commission. Their instructions for the strap assembly is useless.
Thanks John. It does surprise me how difficult they make it look on the instructions! That being said things are always easier to follow on a video. I think they need to employ me as chief strap instructor 🤣
@@bradhuskers I have a 13ft Vibe Sea Ghost 130, 97lbs fully loaded and I still get a workout hulling mine down for a beach launch using the sand wheels. It may work for you but it probably wouldn't be efficient imo.
I've inherited this kit, along with an inflatable kayak/rib called a spearfish 450 (4.5m long). I've attached the trailer as per the instructions but ithe trailer keeps collapsing when dragged. I've tightened the straps as tight as I can ... any suggestions? (my only thoughts were to put an extension timber piece on the support ?) TIA
Check out the new C-Tug R Conversion Kit. These new style hull pads offer better support to larger craft. Essentially doing what your timber pieces will do I believe.
Yep it flips both ways. If you leave it down, at least it has some chance of knocking out of the way instead of snapping if you hit a rock or obstacle as you pull your kayak along.
Factory instructions for the strap assembly were exceptionally poor, thanks for showing is the correct way. Question: are we supposed to tighten the bolt on the kick stand? Mine is very loose. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment Joe. I have found that the bolt needs nipping up a touch every so often as they can loosen up a bit over time. Perhaps it wasn’t quite tightened enough at factory on your one. Just take a spanner and give it half a turn on the nut to see if that helps it hold in position 👍🏻
Thanks for your video - Will definitely buy one of these trolleys now. I am tossing up between this and the sandtrakz wheel, but as it says not to leave the kayak sitting on those wheels for long was thinking I should get this original type of wheel, as I would probably like to leave the kayak on the trolley in my garage, inbetween towing it down the steep driveway asphalt to the river across the road. If someone has limb weakness and struggles to push /pull etc, Is it worth buying this trolley and adding a set of sandtrackz wheels ? But then I guess I have the hassle of needing to move it off in the garage and not store it sitting on the trolley? Anything that makes it easier to move around could be worth it for me.
Hi Alli, it’s usually not recommended to leave your kayak stored on a trolley long-term as you can end up leaving dents or warping the hull on your kayak. Because of the style of the trolley it is very easy to lift the stern of the kayak and pivot the hull on its bow when unloading the kayak from the trolley. As long as the kick stand is down the trolley will stay right in place for loading the next time. The Sandtrakz wheels are very good on soft sand and other soft ground. If you have any soft ground between your house and the river then they would be worth getting. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for this fab video. Was struggling badly with straps, and had wheels on wrong way round, and hadn’t clicked in the wheel pins. I hope C-Tugs will give you some commission, there were no instructions for the straps only a picture, useless! That’s on the Sandtrakz model. Cheers, one happy rookie Kayaker. Mia

C-Tug should skip the paper instructions they include and provide a link to your video instead. You explained this so clearly, thank you!
Would have never firgured out how to set up the straps without watching this video. Thank you!
The instructions that come in the box are as “detailed” as ikea instructions. Appreciate you taking the time to show the assembly correctly.
