This man knows what we want to see, Hats off to you Sir👏 Being a Tata Tigor Ev owner I can say that in all 3 Nexon prime, tigor, taigo ev. Tigor provide max range. With same 110 whkm I get easy 260km range. With 105 I get max 270 km range without AC. I feel anybody who is going for Tiago top variant should consider Tigot Ev base variant.
@@TheTwinPost There are a lot of variables that contribute to change in range of an ev. Amongst them most important is driving. When I got the new EV I usually get 230 km range too. But now after driving it 30k plus km I can surely say I can get 250+ km without AC with ease. These people who do this range test are IC vehicle drivers so they can't get this kind of range.
@@ridhamgupta7504 I'm sure there's some sort of learning that you would've got after driving your EV for these many kilometres...and accordingly you figured out how to extract maximum range out of it.
@@TheTwinPost Yes, I suggest you to watch content from The noise factory to get real details of an Ev. They make very informative videos. They've traveld from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in their Nexon Ev. If you want to learn more about Ev you can check out their channel.
Your videos are amazing with the apt content most buyers need to know. A kind request to please increase the speech volume as the background noise and the background music effects it a lot and the explanation is hardly audible at times.
In any case, if the model you drove has a 24 KWh battery, you are getting lower than 120 WH per KM consumption, which compares well with the best available BEVs. The car may have some reserve battery capacity below 0% reading. After thinking over your results, I believe that the AC takes a high percentage of the power. The battery usage by AC is related to time of use, not distance. Hence, your city battery consumption looks worse that the highway consumption. If you want to test this, you will have to find a place and time where you can drive comfortably with AC off and then check the consumption. Very good review, keep up your good work.
Well good down to earth and honest. This car seems good for city commutes up to say 45km round trip. The battery will last longer if charged up to 80%. Slow charging is preferable. But all said and done the petrol version or the dual fuel version is preferable. The petrol automatic will be 2 lakhs less expensive.

The best and the most efficient way to know the Range (Of course, the numbers can drastically change if you put pedal to the metal or carry huge weight 😁). All Tata EV vehicles range is between 57%-60% (10% battery left, until which you can drive with AC and cruising at normal speeds); 63% - 65% (until 0% in an Emergency, Car is completely dead) of the claimed range. This number is very useful for a common person, as they only care about two things - 1) How long can it go using the AC and normal cruising 10% battery left ; 2) How long can it go until 0% Battery left - In an Emergency: See below chart and figure out what car & Range is best for you: 1) Claimed Range x 58.5% (10% Battery left) Normal driving with AC and at Cruising speeds Nexon EV Prime 30.2kWh Claimed = 312km; Actual = 181km Nexon EV Max 40.5kWh Claimed = 453km; Actual = 265km Tata Tigor All 26.0kWh Claimed = 315km; Actual = 184km Tata Tiago Base 19.2kWh Claimed = 250km; Actual = 146km Tata Tiago Top 24.0kWh Claimed = 315km; Actual = 184km 2) Claimed Range x 64% (0% Battery; In an Emergency) Nexon EV Prime 30.2kWh Claimed = 312km; Actual = 200km Nexon EV Max 40.5kWh Claimed = 453km; Actual = 290km Tata Tigor All 26.0kWh Claimed = 315km; Actual = 202km Tata Tiago Base 19.2kWh Claimed = 250km; Actual = 160km Tata Tiago Top 24.0kWh Claimed = 315km; Actual = 202km
Out of 24 kWh battery the usuable range is 20 kWh. You can not consider the last 10% in range calculation. To get the range consider to drive at ambient temp of 28 to 30 degree Celsius, no airconditioner, constant speed of 35 km to 40 km per HR by engaging cruse control and regen at level 2. You will get maximum range. Driving at 60 to 80 kmph and switching on airconditioner drains battery rapidly and you will get lower range. All depends upon how you drive.
I am owning Tata Tiago ev up end model battery range is very poor I am driving in 50-60km speed only in 3rd gen charging mode but still my range 160-170 😢
Similar to iphones, EV is famous however many limitations. A person can't go remote, hilly and many areas with fear of no charging points. These toys should not even sell costly it is just electric toy car light weight and made of plastics.
@@inderjeetsingh687 EVs are heavier than ICE, range anxiety is a thing but with more adoption, more chargers will definitely be set up by various companies exponentially increasing charging infra in the coming years.
Thanks for the efforts and nicely made video. 200 km is on the lower side of comfort it's a cause of concern. I have few queries in mind : if we did the test in parts let's say 60 km per day would the range improve vis-a-vis single continuous usage which would heat the battery/motor , and secondly instead of charging with the 7.2 kilowatt charger if you use a 3.3 kilowatt charger again would the battery heat reduce and the range improve as a result. I like the car in all aspects, but don't wish to have range anxiety/neither the hasle of charging too frequently per week. Saw a post / spyshot of Tiago EV Max version; Any news / rumours about this. It would be a limiting feeling to get this and then they release the EV Max version. Altroz which might have a bigger battery , would be too late and atleast 3L more.
