I just spotted an Io on my porch. When I moved it with a piece of paper, a strong stream of white liquid squirted out of its back end. I’ve found nothing about the moth doing this? Only that the caterpillar is venomous. Is this venom in the adult (male) moth? Thank you if you can advise me. Very interesting!
Especially loved seeing the kids play hide and seek with you 😆 So cute how curious they are while being so shy. Insane how many butterflies are just everywhere there as well!
Thank you Bart, was interesting learning about the rainforest (or lack of it) there. I loved going on the butterfly/moth adventure with you. I hope more people there learn to plant butterfly host plants in their gardens and on boarders of farm land so that these little creatures don’t become completely lost. All the best.
have you considered trapping on a more remote island? i bet some of the smaller indonesian islands or pacific islands like vanuatu or fiji would be very interesting and may have neat endemics

Fantastic video! Thank you for giving us a lot of time to view each one. Such amazing creatures.
Interested in doing a trip to Uganda to observe rare insects? We will make a website soon and even organise tours.

Rainforests around the globe are under attack sadly. We must preserve them

Maybe in India

Greetings in Poland Bart 🍺
Hi Bart. Loving fan here. I have a question. Why in the first moth you caught were you holding it my the head like that? Just curious.
I'm holding it by the thorax under my thumb which is the only safe part to hold
@@BartCoppens thank you for responding so fast. I’m sorry. It caught me off guard. Also I will be moth watching next spring. You inspired me!

Travel to southeast asia. Hopefully there will be very interesting moth species
Can they crossbreed (by accident or on purpose),i mean some of the species of butterflies and moths dont look all that different from each other

You can find them in the forest (and some webshops sell them); they are breedable on Wisteria or Inga
