Thank you! I am reminded by this to have balance. Also as always, that God loves us and we are free to choose that love no matter who we are. I am comforted by these videos. I may not understand it all, but I can understand that everything is in order. If everything is under God's control here, then we can go be good people without fear of others, or of hell. And with some confidence, you know? Because I am learning that heaven is set up to help us and we are (almost alarmingly, ha!) never alone. ❤

We have all of eternity to gradually understand better and better how that plan and order work! I do find that it makes an immense difference to have confidence that God and all of heaven are always there "in our corner," and that we are never left without inner support, help and love.

I always get my answers from Swedenborgs writings. I m listening to channeling sessions and I can't help but get the impression that spirits act as if they know everything or maybe believe they have the answers for everything BUT they actually don't. They just don't. We are not necessarily become wiser when we are back in a spirit form.
Very true, Neo. Spirits are just people in the afterlife, with varying degrees of knowledge. I agree with you that there seem to be spirits who believe they know all the answers, but don't. Accurate knowledge of how things are increases as a person in the afterlife gradually develops into an angel, opening up to the deeper love and wisdom of heaven. And the more deeply loving and wise an angel becomes, I think the less they will be talking in earthly language!

Love your show-) .... love your neighbour as you love your self suggests clearly that you have to love self first(I used to argue with priests abt this since I was 5yo). Not in a egotistical or narcissistic way, but you as a place where God is present. Most ppl can’t bare this idea, cose we were coached out of believing that we truly are an image of God having an experience in living with you; togetherness(which can be the most beautiful thing after we heal..). I heard all sorts of spirits since being born. All sorts of spirits because in some past lives I was tortured and had to claim that my skills came from evil. Now why I’m saying this unflattering facts is that it opened me up to both sides; the highest and the lowest worlds. Long story short getting out of being not fully protected from dark (I called it; it works only on weekends!) was transmuting their presence by purest love in heart; the presence of God(not a humin live..).One day they provoked me so badly that I didn’t let them leave but I hold to them with the purest love I ever Sensed in me till we get to gates of hell. And my deep understanding of their purpose simply kicked me out of hell and gates were closed. Since then I faced many spiritual challenges but mainly from different places let say. One thing I know for sure is that every time I felt that death would be better; my pure heart pulled God to me and he carried me to safety...so he does to all of us. Cherish your heart as you can 💕

@@MarikaSpirited Swedenborg learned that we all have an inner self that holds the presence of God! So yes, those deeper parts of who we are, our true selves, mirror God. Our outer selves (lower egos) can get confused and blocked and lose awareness of that inner goodness, but it is never gone. We can lose our way for a while, but God is always gently turning and pulling us back toward his never-ending love for each one of us. If we can have compassion on ourselves and others, we can better open up to that Divine unconditional love!

Oh wow yes. What Curtis mentions about vocal cords and trembling tongues. Fascinating. The ways that spirit - (my husband in my case)- communicates with me is through external senses. I get constant ringing in my ears. They are downloaded messages. And then I have to ask for confirmation of what is being transferred to me from the spiritual realm. Might be unrelated - but if you look hard - there might be a tie in there somewhere!
After 8 spinal surgeries and an out of body experience during one of them, I began to occasionally see and hear spirits around me. They seem fanatically concerned with the state of my health and try to help me somehow. At first I thought they were auditory hallucinations but I have since recorded their voices so I know it’s real. Much of what Swedenborg writes can be proven.

this particular topic is very interesting to me, for so many reasons....one of which is the influx of authors and celebrities claiming to be in touch with angels. my inner guidance/gut tells me for that to be true,they would not be indulging in certain behaviors that are evident...like diet for instance. on the one hand talking with angels,and on the other contributing to the suffering and torture of sentient beings. just so contradictory. with that said, i remember being absorbed with meher baba in my early 20s, and remembering his compassion and care of the masts. he said this of them- God-Mad, God-Intoxicated, God-Merged In these three types also, greed, anger, avarice and lust do not exist. he also said they were psychically imbalanced. swedenborg puts this in a different perspective for me, but does not alter it. yet. lol im still learning about swedenborg. please forgive my lack of shift-keys.

The point you made about the communication of an angel through the mind and tongue is fascinating. It may well be the reason that glossolalia takes place in the Pentecostal churches....but another thing I really found interesting is the manner in which Ron Wyatt found the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem. He said that his arm (involuntarily) raised and pointed to a place he was passing by and an automatic voice said this is the cave of Nehemiah where you will find the Ark of the Covenant. (or something to that effect).
This part of Curtis' description of the voice of angels and a person's trembling tongue reminds me of the words of the India physicist Ramanujan when he described his inspiration for his equations that led to the 2017 true story The Man Who Knew Infinity..When asked HOW he knew all this physics information he said his Goddess (Devi?) lays the information ON HIS TONGUE while he sleeps and in the morning he writes it down. He lived with this "gift" in his life (around 1918) and attended Oxford U (?) in UK.. You gotta watch this movie. It's on Netflix. I've watched it 10 times it's so fascinating how he knows stuff; the work of his last years (he passed at age 32) are being looked at in terms of black holes.....

@@timbragg9684 Swedenborg does not tell us exactly how this works, but from other ways that he describes the relationship of the physical with the spiritual, I currently picture that any animal we encounter here on earth is just an outer shell of an animal in the spiritual world. So, if someone had forged a strong bond with an animal on earth, then that animal's inner essence could still be connected to their spirit, and show up in the same form to greet them, or be a part of their surroundings, in the afterlife (as has been reported in some NDEs).

@@timbragg9684 Again, I don't know exactly how this works, but I personally find comfort in the perspective that the outer shell of animals can go through things that the inner essence is not going through. And you are right that animals are formed out of thoughts and feelings, originally God's thoughts and feelings, but then also through the thoughts and feelings of angels and spirits and us on earth. Formed first in the spiritual realm, taking outermost manifestation in the physical realm. But the life force is anchored in the spiritual realm.
God never tells you what to do. Low spirits will try and influence negatively like some people on earth. When you get something higher it's so loving you can hardly take it because it is so intense. That's why talking directly to God would probably be too much. Swedenborg says lower angels cant live in upper heaven until they advance in spirituality. Higher spirit will show you better ways of doing things. Higher spirits know the bigger picture and guide accordingly. Low spirits feel depressing.

No, Swedenborg is not saying that all people are not aware that they have died. Only *some* people are not aware that they have died - basically, those who did not have any real belief in a life after death. Everyone is told that they have crossed over into the afterlife, and everyone who is open to a belief in an afterlife will readily accept that, or come to accept it as soon as they're ready. Those who have set their mind against that belief will have a much harder time. Angels will keep trying to convince them, but, in the end, we all believe only what we want to believe! I am confused about good /evil spirits not being “aware” of us yet they “try “ to influence us? Or do we interact with them depending on our thoughts (positive/negative)? We are the “antennas” picking up their signals (thoughts) ? Or do they also pick up ours? Their is evil and good thoughts which come to you and it is upto you which you choose. However good thoughts come from God and his heavenly Angel's and if we accept and work with these thoughts we are made to think they are own thoughts. If we choose to act on bad thoughts they do not come from God and are considered false because If the thought did not come from Gods love and truth they are false so do not exist. We perceive it as reality on earth but not in heaven. So people who believe in false thoughts do not see God who only speaks the truth. Such people want you to join them and this gives them pleasure. God wants you to experience false thoughts so you can see what's true and enjoy learning to live in truth ie God.
I hear you, Terry. It can feel very confusing! I think that's because it really is very complex, with a lot going on all the time. We pick up on the signals of spirits near us, and when we engage in or indulge those thoughts or feelings, we attract more such spirits. But many of those spirits are near us in the first place because they were attracted by things inherent in us from our heredity and experiences. We're all participating in shaping that life force into different expressions as we live our lives, make our choices, and affect the lives of those around us, both in a physical and spiritual sense. So, yes, this back-and-forth influence is going on all the time, with us picking up on spirits's signals, and them picking up on ours. That happens with the interactions of people physically on earth, too. We are influenced by the actions and words of others, and they are affected by ours. Who can say where exactly it begins? But there is a general protective barrier in place which has the evil spirits only aware of us in a general way, picking up on and interacting with the aura of negative thoughts and feelings without being specifically aware of the individual person on earth. Yes, I think the messages that Swedenborg received from our Lord about hearing from Spirits and communicating with them and angels is a practical guide for us, who are still living in our physical bodies on this Earth. I love how Swedenborg reminds us that's it's fine to try to communicate with the good Spirits, but that we are still human and living on this Earth. That means we need to work, spend time with our family and friends and beloved pets, and find love and joy through shining our Light and Love throughout the world. Many years ago, in a time when I was young and busy, I took on the attitude of - work hard - play hard. There was no spirit, no God, nothing like that was a part of my life at all. I was driving to work with my golf clubs in my truck. I was to play a round with my father after work as we did as often as possible. I had my CD player running, listening to Chicago. Nothing unusual I heard a voice as clear as a bell. This was not part of the music I was listening to, and it would change my life for ever. I was so perplexed by this voice that I pulled off the road to have a good look around to see where it came from. There was no other traffic in range and nothing could explain it. I felt foolish. It was very odd. The voice said "You are going to lose everything" It was just a simple statement. There was no conversation. No debate or room for discussion. Back then I was fairly well to do. I owned a little kitchen cabinet shop where I lived in a huge apartment above with my wife of 17 years. I was renovating the apartment so that my wife could live in a nice home like the ones that I helped to build every day, and I was almost finished. It was beautiful. We had bought all new appliances and they only needed to be wired up. After my round of golf, I went home to find my wife in tears. She was always going to the doctor for one reason or another. I paid little attention. She told me that she had been diagnosed with 3 aneurisms in her brain that very day that I heard the voice. 2 weeks later she was dead. Following the doctor's advice, she had this "life saving surgery" that she would never wake up from. When I went home, I reached for the door knob to enter and it occurred to me that I could not go in there. This was her home that she never got to cook in. We did all that work and it was all about her. I remembered the voice. What was this? I thought. This was just the start of a very dark time for me. I could only watch as, one by one, the things in my life vanished just as I was told. I sold off everything and became a junkie. The rest of the story is very long and would play out over twenty years. Suicide was the plan for me. Death by overdose. Soon into my drug infested trip, I heard that same voice, plain and mellow - "You are not getting out like this" So on I went until the money was gone. I even ended up in jail for 2 years at one point. I am no longer that person. It was another life time. I was never able to find another to share my life with, but I most definitely know that there is a God. I often wonder if any of this needed to happen at all, but I know the truth. That is how much it would cost for me to open my eyes. God will spend as much as it takes.

Then I was extremely mad at God for using this as an introduction but it did most certainly get my attention. The thing is that if I didn't hear that voice then it is not likely I would believe in God today. I would be a bitter, lonely old man, or dead, never knowing God in this life and my wife's death would have had no meaning.

Wait Curtis - Spirits do know - they do know - they remember. everything. My husband told me specifically where something of value is located at right here in our bedroom. I swear he NEVER - not mentioned what it is or its location before he died. HE knew this thing of value was in this drawer and was able to get it into my thoughts! Good question, Mario. My understanding is that the spirits are vaguely aware of us, but not aware of us specifically. For example, they know there are other beings around, but may not know our names or who we are. My sense is that they read and feed off of energy, and are attracted to certain kinds of energy. Since time and space don't exist the same way in the spiritual world, they can instantaneously find energy beings that match what they enjoy. So, if we engage with them by falling into a negative spiral, they stick around, feed off that energy, and add to it to continue what for them is a feast. But if we can resist negativity and find more peaceful thoughts, there is nothing for them to do, and they move on. Always pays to be practical as part of the spiritual or even a mental quest. Case in point, there was a story of Einstein's housekeeper who after Einstein's death found thousands of dollars in uncashed checks made out to him. The guy never had time to cash checks since his entire time was spent discovering the laws of the universe. God's truth can always be a confusing subject in this physical world of separation. Sometimes the best way to discover it is to ask the Holy Spirit what is true and what is not. Asking with the innocence of a child to reveal your own revelation to yourself is something that God can never refuse. (a paraphrase of Matthew 18:3)

After watching this episode again, I noticed what Swedenborg wrote about spirit communication. There was a paragraph he wrote saying, …….“ There are some people who lead solitary lives who sometimes hear spirits talking with them without risk; but the Lord keeps these spirits a little space away so that they do not know they are with these individuals. Most spirits, you see, are not aware that there is any other world than the one they are living in or therefore that there are people anywhere else. So we are not allowed to talk back to them , since if we did, they would know”…. I was listening to a Leslie Flint taped spirit communication from 1957, in the audio tape, a “Dr Charles Marshall” was asked if he could see the room that they were in, and the “spirit” said no, only what was described to him. So that CONFIRMS what Emmanuel Swedenborg said about the spirits not knowing the physical world here unless they are communicated to and given the description of it….So in conclusion, that tells me the Lord as a reason for this. Personally, I live a solitary life myself , but I don’t talk to spirits. It is like, we do not know where they are and they do not know where we are unless someone from either side decides to communicate. 🙂❤️

I am stuck on one point. if we are so connected to God and Angles in our early, why do we need to develop this hard outer shell in adulthood in later life. it seems to me this hard shell would do more to pull us away from God and slow your spiritual regeneration? It's a great question, Randy! It's not that we have to develop this hard outer shell, but that we have to develop our own rationality and make our own freewill choices. In childhood, we're just going along with what others are telling us. As we enter adulthood, we are supposed to think for ourselves. This is crucial for developing our own individual relationship with God. It's not that it *has* to take the form of this hard outer shell. But that is a natural result of the fact that these days we are all born with a negative heredity. We have to come to a place that we can see and experience that heredity for ourselves, in order to eventually make freewill choices between that negativity and God's love. Another way to think of it is, we have to first ease out of depending on other people to guide us in order to then gradually turn toward being guided by the Lord through our own mind. That takes some kind of a rebellion, establishing ourselves as individuals, and then gradually and freely surrendering ourselves to God's care. Does that make sense?

It can be dangerous because spirits are just people who have gone into the afterlife, and just like on earth, some people are kind and honest, and others are nasty and deceitful. Some spirits are kind and good, but there are many who are nasty and deceitful that want to fool and hurt people. Swedenborg didn't have much to say specifically about speaking in tongues, but he did warn that there are people who believe they are being influenced by the Holy Spirit who are actually being influenced by deceitful spirits. I have never heard a spirit or seen an apparition myself, even though I’ve tried. I still can’t understand why some people, ( perhaps because of a persons disposition or background? ) can become aware of something that is beyond our 5 senses. Could you say that these people ( including Swedenborg) are “special messengers” or “chosen” spirit world correspondents? 👍🏻🙂
I too share in your wonder, Julian. The Lord's careful plan for each of us is something often beyond our understanding. It's fascinating to think about "chosen" individuals that have their spiritual eyes opened. For Swedenborg, he was clear that this was a particular way he could serve the Lord. A friend of mine told me that my son was hearing voices and what he heard my son say. This all happened about 20 yrs ago. My son is ok now bc the Lord is healing him but at that time my son was very sick, it was thru drugs I believe. My son was going thru a very bad time. But now he is married and happy and has a good job, he works for himself in construction. I am so very thankful to the Lord for the healing. I almost went under emotionally myself bc I couldn't deal with watching this happen to him the way he was suffering and i couldn't do anything about it.

Very good video, definitely gave me a lot to think about. Anyway I am very confused, as you are saying that (some?) spirits don't even know about us humans, and then in other videos, you are saying that we have 2 good spirits and 2 bad spirits in us, and also the evil spirits are attacking us in our thoughts. So if they are attacking us they have to know about us humans and they have to have an agenda against us humans to destroy us. Also, schizophrenic patients (as you had a conversation with Jerry Marzinsky before) can hear voices of these bad spirits who talk to them to do things and reacting to a conversation with Jerry for example when he was still working as this prison counselor. How these spirits can talk to human what to do if they don't know that there are humans and they don't know that they are in a human body (as you said until the person starts to speak to them, so then they eventually know, are they surprised afterward?) :)) This subject is very confusing as there are loads of contradicting information. From some of your videos, it looks like evil spirits know very well about us humans and they want to destroy us and they find pleasure in it. It's confusing because there is a tremendous amount of variety in what is going on! The most general thing I can say is, evil spirits most definitely want to hurt and destroy all people, and look for any ways possible to do that. God puts a general protection in place so that evil spirits are usually not aware of us in particular, but still they are drawn to any negativity in our aura, and they can be feeding off of that, and inserting more of their own negativity, without knowing in particular who we are. They can react to the thoughts and feelings without knowing who the particular person is. However, that protection can get broken through due to things like mental illness, or drugs, or trying to contact spirits. Those are the kinds of cases that Jerry has encountered, spirits getting a stronger hold on people through mental illness or drug and alcohol use. How is it possible that the spirits don’t even remember that they came out of the physical world? Does this mean they have forgotten their earthly lives? I don't want to get too 'philosophical' as I'm not even qualified. But I thought that Jesus the 'Christ' came to this world to give the gift of 'transcendence' to men. This gift includes communicating directly with the Holy Spirit within us. I think that this is what Jesus meant when he was describing being 'born again'. Please feel free to clear up any confusion on my part, but I thought that Swedenborgians believed that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was gift of transcendence to humanity. If so, then we don't need spirits to communicate with our Source and Creator.
You make a very great point!!! I'm kind of confused too, but I think that we can communicate directly to God, we don't have to go through spirits or angels to commication with God because like you said, God, the Holy Spirit is already within us; but maybe these other pathways, or spirits and angels are there for more help guiding us directly towards our source. Like we don't need to pray to spirits or angels in order for God to hear our prayers, they are there for more of a cushion of guidance or direction to help us on this journey of life... idk I could be wrong, it's just my theory or my interpretation so far.

Like with every spiritual philosophy, Swedenborgian concepts get applied by people according to who they are. So, there are conservative Swedenborgians, liberal Swedenborgians, and everything in between. Concerning pre-marital sex, the basic principle laid out by Swedenborg is that the significance of every outer action depends upon the inner goals and intent. If pre-marital sex is coming from a place of the thrill of promiscuity and self-gratification, that is leading a person in a spiritually unhealthy and damaging direction. If pre-marital sex is coming from a place of genuine love for and commitment to someone, then that is leading in the direction of "true marriage love" that is heavenly. I can hear spirits. I am a child of God. I'm very close to God. I prayed for more discernment for almost a year. God gave me this ability. I have had all kinds of experiences and with spirits and demons. The spirits who communicate with me are tested vigorously. I don't let angry or negative spirits talk to me. I tell them to leave me alone and not to come back. It works. Sometimes I hear an aggressive phrase or word. It happens. It's random voices coming from the spirit realm. Even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of Light. I'm waiting for God to tell me how to help others. He said Be patient. I'm in a time of waiting. I pray all the time in my head and out loud. Satan and his demons cannot read your mind. They can put thoughts in your head. Keep what you are praying for in your head so that Evil cannot block your prayers or attack them. Pray out loud so that Evil can hear you and know you are fighting back as a child of God. I was with a beautiful lady yesterday who is always surrounded by disgusting human beings-demons and mostly bad spirits. Her behavior, even speech matches the behavior of those around her. I can smell and feel their presence. She's beautiful, sexy and very, very in touch with she spiritual realm. We speak and laugh from somewhere else, mostly unintelligible to those around us. God has her I'm told but I can't see how, I just want to bust heads. No wonder I've been on the streets for the biggest part of 40 years, can't fix stupid.

Anyone who has the ability to rationally understand the effects of their actions is responsible for their actions. Evil spirits do put the thoughts and impulses to our minds, but we are responsible for the choice about whether to indulge and act on them or not. However, if for some reason a person is not able to rationally understand the effects of their actions, then they are not spiritually responsible. They certainly have to be stopped and prosecuted in the earthly sense, but in the afterlife they can be made to understand, and then can make their rational choices to purge those impulses and be a different person. I don't know which of these categories "Son of Sam" falls into, but fortunately the Lord knows!

Swedenborg doesn't seem to get into the subject of who the evil spirits are, does he? Let me fill in that gap with some modern revelation (of which I am not the source). Prior to the creation of earth, a Grand Council was held in which the Father presented his plan for the creation of earth and our adventure in mortality, the purpose of which was to enable us to become more like our heavenly parents. That plan included the possibility of failure, the inevitability of suffering, and the necessity of a Savior to redeem us from our errors and sins, inasmuch as we could not truly learn without being actually exposed to alternatives and actually having just as much ability to choose wrongly as to choose rightly. One of our brothers - yes, we were all there - objected to the plan and proposed an alternative, one which did not require a Savior. He would simply compel everyone to make correct choices, and voila, not a single one of us would be lost. In return for having devised such a clever plan, he demanded that Father give him his glory, because, in his opinion, Father had clearly lost his marbles. He convinced a large number of our brothers and sisters to side with him, and thus began the War in Heaven. The end result was that Lucifer and his followers were cast out of heaven and forfeited the chance to enter into mortality. Those unembodied spirits are what Swedenborg describes as the evil spirits among us. (I wonder if there might also be spirits of the deceased wicked who have joined their ranks, although one might expect them to be immediately be cast into hell upon their demise, but I don't know if they, in spirit form, might be allowed to remain for a time among us.)

I always get my answers from Swedenborgs writings. I m listening to channeling sessions and I can't help but get the impression that spirits act as if they know everything or maybe believe they have the answers for everything BUT they actually don't. They just don't. We are not necessarily become wiser when we are back in a spirit form.
Very true, Neo. Spirits are just people in the afterlife, with varying degrees of knowledge. I agree with you that there seem to be spirits who believe they know all the answers, but don't. Accurate knowledge of how things are increases as a person in the afterlife gradually develops into an angel, opening up to the deeper love and wisdom of heaven. And the more deeply loving and wise an angel becomes, I think the less they will be talking in earthly language!

Love your show-) .... love your neighbour as you love your self suggests clearly that you have to love self first(I used to argue with priests abt this since I was 5yo). Not in a egotistical or narcissistic way, but you as a place where God is present. Most ppl can’t bare this idea, cose we were coached out of believing that we truly are an image of God having an experience in living with you; togetherness(which can be the most beautiful thing after we heal..). I heard all sorts of spirits since being born. All sorts of spirits because in some past lives I was tortured and had to claim that my skills came from evil. Now why I’m saying this unflattering facts is that it opened me up to both sides; the highest and the lowest worlds. Long story short getting out of being not fully protected from dark (I called it; it works only on weekends!) was transmuting their presence by purest love in heart; the presence of God(not a humin live..).One day they provoked me so badly that I didn’t let them leave but I hold to them with the purest love I ever Sensed in me till we get to gates of hell. And my deep understanding of their purpose simply kicked me out of hell and gates were closed. Since then I faced many spiritual challenges but mainly from different places let say. One thing I know for sure is that every time I felt that death would be better; my pure heart pulled God to me and he carried me to safety...so he does to all of us. Cherish your heart as you can 💕

@@MarikaSpirited Swedenborg learned that we all have an inner self that holds the presence of God! So yes, those deeper parts of who we are, our true selves, mirror God. Our outer selves (lower egos) can get confused and blocked and lose awareness of that inner goodness, but it is never gone. We can lose our way for a while, but God is always gently turning and pulling us back toward his never-ending love for each one of us. If we can have compassion on ourselves and others, we can better open up to that Divine unconditional love!

Oh wow yes. What Curtis mentions about vocal cords and trembling tongues. Fascinating. The ways that spirit - (my husband in my case)- communicates with me is through external senses. I get constant ringing in my ears. They are downloaded messages. And then I have to ask for confirmation of what is being transferred to me from the spiritual realm. Might be unrelated - but if you look hard - there might be a tie in there somewhere!

After 8 spinal surgeries and an out of body experience during one of them, I began to occasionally see and hear spirits around me. They seem fanatically concerned with the state of my health and try to help me somehow. At first I thought they were auditory hallucinations but I have since recorded their voices so I know it’s real. Much of what Swedenborg writes can be proven.

this particular topic is very interesting to me, for so many reasons....one of which is the influx of authors and celebrities claiming to be in touch with angels. my inner guidance/gut tells me for that to be true,they would not be indulging in certain behaviors that are evident...like diet for instance. on the one hand talking with angels,and on the other contributing to the suffering and torture of sentient beings. just so contradictory. with that said, i remember being absorbed with meher baba in my early 20s, and remembering his compassion and care of the masts. he said this of them- God-Mad, God-Intoxicated, God-Merged

The point you made about the communication of an angel through the mind and tongue is fascinating. It may well be the reason that glossolalia takes place in the Pentecostal churches....but another thing I really found interesting is the manner in which Ron Wyatt found the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem. He said that his arm (involuntarily) raised and pointed to a place he was passing by and an automatic voice said this is the cave of Nehemiah where you will find the Ark of the Covenant. (or something to that effect).

This part of Curtis' description of the voice of angels and a person's trembling tongue reminds me of the words of the India physicist Ramanujan when he described his inspiration for his equations that led to the 2017 true story The Man Who Knew Infinity..When asked HOW he knew all this physics information he said his Goddess (Devi?) lays the information ON HIS TONGUE while he sleeps and in the morning he writes it down. So, if someone had forged a strong bond with an animal on earth, then that animal's inner essence could still be connected to their spirit, and show up in the same form to greet them, or be a part of their surroundings, in the afterlife (as has been reported in some NDEs).

And you are right that animals are formed out of thoughts and feelings, originally God's thoughts and feelings, but then also through the thoughts and feelings of angels and spirits and us on earth. Formed first in the spiritual realm, taking outermost manifestation in the physical realm. But the life force is anchored in the spiritual realm.
God never tells you what to do. Low spirits will try and influence negatively like some people on earth. When you get something higher it's so loving you can hardly take it because it is so intense. That's why talking directly to God would probably be too much. Swedenborg says lower angels cant live in upper heaven until they advance in spirituality. Higher spirit will show you better ways of doing things. Higher spirits know the bigger picture and guide accordingly. Low spirits feel depressing.

No, Swedenborg is not saying that all people are not aware that they have died. Only *some* people are not aware that they have died - basically, those who did not have any real belief in a life after death. Everyone is told that they have crossed over into the afterlife, and everyone who is open to a belief in an afterlife will readily accept that, or come to accept it as soon as they're ready. Those who have set their mind against that belief will have a much harder time. Angels will keep trying to convince them, but, in the end, we all believe only what we want to believe!

I am confused about good /evil spirits not being “aware” of us yet they “try “ to influence us? Or do we interact with them depending on our thoughts (positive/negative)? Their is evil and good thoughts which come to you and it is upto you which you choose. However good thoughts come from God and his heavenly Angel's and if we accept and work with these thoughts we are made to think they are own thoughts. If we choose to act on bad thoughts they do not come from God and are considered false because If the thought did not come from Gods love and truth they are false so do not exist. We perceive it as reality on earth but not in heaven. So people who believe in false thoughts do not see God who only speaks the truth. Such people want you to join them and this gives them pleasure. I hear you, Terry. It can feel very confusing! I think that's because it really is very complex, with a lot going on all the time. We pick up on the signals of spirits near us, and when we engage in or indulge those thoughts or feelings, we attract more such spirits. But many of those spirits are near us in the first place because they were attracted by things inherent in us from our heredity and experiences. Chicken and egg scenario indeed! :D

But there is a general protective barrier in place which has the evil spirits only aware of us in a general way, picking up on and interacting with the aura of negative thoughts and feelings without being specifically aware of the individual person on earth. Many years ago, in a time when I was young and busy, I took on the attitude of - work hard - play hard. There was no spirit, no God, nothing like that was a part of my life at all. I was driving to work with my golf clubs in my truck. I was to play a round with my father after work as we did as often as possible. I had my CD player running, listening to Chicago. Nothing unusual
I heard a voice as clear as a bell. This was not part of the music I was listening to, and it would change my life for ever. I was so perplexed by this voice that I pulled off the road to have a good look around to see where it came from. There was no other traffic in range and nothing could explain it. I felt foolish. It was very odd. The voice said "You are going to lose everything"
It was just a simple statement. There was no conversation. No debate or room for discussion.
Back then I was fairly well to do. I owned a little kitchen cabinet shop where I lived in a huge apartment above with my wife of 17 years. I was renovating the apartment so that my wife could live in a nice home like the ones that I helped to build every day, and I was almost finished. It was beautiful. We had bought all new appliances and they only needed to be wired up.
After my round of golf, I went home to find my wife in tears. She was always going to the doctor for one reason or another. I paid little attention. She told me that she had been diagnosed with 3 aneurisms in her brain that very day that I heard the voice. 2 weeks later she was dead. Following the doctor's advice, she had this "life saving surgery" that she would never wake up from.
When I went home, I reached for the door knob to enter and it occurred to me that I could not go in there. This was her home that she never got to cook in. We did all that work and it was all about her. I remembered the voice. What was this? I thought.
This was just the start of a very dark time for me. I could only watch as, one by one, the things in my life vanished just as I was told. I sold off everything and became a junkie.
The rest of the story is very long and would play out over twenty years. Suicide was the plan for me. Death by overdose. Soon into my drug infested trip, I heard that same voice, plain and mellow - "You are not getting out like this" So on I went until the money was gone. I even ended up in jail for 2 years at one point.
I am no longer that person. It was another life time. I was never able to find another to share my life with, but I most definitely know that there is a God. I often wonder if any of this needed to happen at all, but I know the truth. That is how much it would cost for me to open my eyes. God will spend as much as it takes.
Wow, Jeff, I am stunned and in awe of your story and your experience. Do you think the voice wanted to prepare you for what was coming? Did it bring any comfort, having a warning, and knowing there was someone there, keeping an eye on things?

The thing is that if I didn't hear that voice then it is not likely I would believe in God today. I would be a bitter, lonely old man, or dead, never knowing God in this life and my wife's death would have had no meaning.

Wait Curtis - Spirits do know - they do know - they remember. everything. My husband told me specifically where something of value is located at right here in our bedroom. I swear he NEVER - not mentioned what it is or its location before he died. HE knew this thing of value was in this drawer and was able to get it into my thoughts! Good question, Mario. My understanding is that the spirits are vaguely aware of us, but not aware of us specifically. For example, they know there are other beings around, but may not know our names or who we are. My sense is that they read and feed off of energy, and are attracted to certain kinds of energy. Since time and space don't exist the same way in the spiritual world, they can instantaneously find energy beings that match what they enjoy. So, if we engage with them by falling into a negative spiral, they stick around, feed off that energy, and add to it to continue what for them is a feast. But if we can resist negativity and find more peaceful thoughts, there is nothing for them to do, and they move on.

Always pays to be practical as part of the spiritual or even a mental quest. Case in point, there was a story of Einstein's housekeeper who after Einstein's death found thousands of dollars in uncashed checks made out to him. The guy never had time to cash checks since his entire time was spent discovering the laws of the universe.
God's truth can always be a confusing subject in this physical world of separation. Sometimes the best way to discover it is to ask the Holy Spirit what is true and what is not. Asking with the innocence of a child to reveal your own revelation to yourself is something that God can never refuse. (a paraphrase of Matthew 18:3)

After watching this episode again, I noticed what Swedenborg wrote about spirit communication. There was a paragraph he wrote saying, …….“ There are some people who lead solitary lives who sometimes hear spirits talking with them without risk; but the Lord keeps these spirits a little space away so that they do not know they are with these individuals. Most spirits, you see, are not aware that there is any other world than the one they are living in or therefore that there are people anywhere else. So we are not allowed to talk back to them , since if we did, they would know”…. I was listening to a Leslie Flint taped spirit communication from 1957, in the audio tape, a “Dr Charles Marshall” was asked if he could see the room that they were in, and the “spirit” said no, only what was described to him. So that CONFIRMS what Emmanuel Swedenborg said about the spirits not knowing the physical world here unless they are communicated to and given the description of it….So in conclusion, that tells me the Lord as a reason for this. Personally, I live a solitary life myself , but I don’t talk to spirits. It is like, we do not know where they are and they do not know where we are unless someone from either side decides to communicate. 🙂❤️

It's a great question, Randy! It's not that we have to develop this hard outer shell, but that we have to develop our own rationality and make our own freewill choices. In childhood, we're just going along with what others are telling us. As we enter adulthood, we are supposed to think for ourselves. This is crucial for developing our own individual relationship with God. It's not that it *has* to take the form of this hard outer shell. But that is a natural result of the fact that these days we are all born with a negative heredity. We have to come to a place that we can see and experience that heredity for ourselves, in order to eventually make freewill choices between that negativity and God's love. Another way to think of it is, we have to first ease out of depending on other people to guide us in order to then gradually turn toward being guided by the Lord through our own mind. That takes some kind of a rebellion, establishing ourselves as individuals, and then gradually and freely surrendering ourselves to God's care. Does that make sense?

It can be dangerous because spirits are just people who have gone into the afterlife, and just like on earth, some people are kind and honest, and others are nasty and deceitful. Some spirits are kind and good, but there are many who are nasty and deceitful that want to fool and hurt people. Swedenborg didn't have much to say specifically about speaking in tongues, but he did warn that there are people who believe they are being influenced by the Holy Spirit who are actually being influenced by deceitful spirits. I have never heard a spirit or seen an apparition myself, even though I’ve tried. I still can’t understand why some people, ( perhaps because of a persons disposition or background? ) can become aware of something that is beyond our 5 senses. A friend of mine told me that my son was hearing voices and what he heard my son say. This all happened about 20 yrs ago. My son is ok now bc the Lord is healing him but at that time my son was very sick, it was thru drugs I believe. My son was going thru a very bad time. But now he is married and happy and has a good job, he works for himself in construction. I am so very thankful to the Lord for the healing. I almost went under emotionally myself bc I couldn't deal with watching this happen to him the way he was suffering and i couldn't do anything about it.

Anyway I am very confused, as you are saying that (some?) spirits don't even know about us humans, and then in other videos, you are saying that we have 2 good spirits and 2 bad spirits in us, and also the evil spirits are attacking us in our thoughts. So if they are attacking us they have to know about us humans and they have to have an agenda against us humans to destroy us. It's confusing because there is a tremendous amount of variety in what is going on! The most general thing I can say is, evil spirits most definitely want to hurt and destroy all people, and look for any ways possible to do that. God puts a general protection in place so that evil spirits are usually not aware of us in particular, but still they are drawn to any negativity in our aura, and they can be feeding off of that, and inserting more of their own negativity, without knowing in particular who we are. They can react to the thoughts and feelings without knowing who the particular person is. However, that protection can get broken through due to things like mental illness, or drugs, or trying to contact spirits. Those are the kinds of cases that Jerry has encountered, spirits getting a stronger hold on people through mental illness or drug and alcohol use. How is it possible that the spirits don’t even remember that they came out of the physical world? Does this mean they have forgotten their earthly lives? I don't want to get too 'philosophical' as I'm not even qualified. But I thought that Jesus the 'Christ' came to this world to give the gift of 'transcendence' to men. This gift includes communicating directly with the Holy Spirit within us. I think that this is what Jesus meant when he was describing being 'born again'. Please feel free to clear up any confusion on my part, but I thought that Swedenborgians believed that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was gift of transcendence to humanity. If so, then we don't need spirits to communicate with our Source and Creator.
You make a very great point!!! I'm kind of confused too, but I think that we can communicate directly to God, we don't have to go through spirits or angels to commication with God because like you said, God, the Holy Spirit is already within us; but maybe these other pathways, or spirits and angels are there for more help guiding us directly towards our source. Like we don't need to pray to spirits or angels in order for God to hear our prayers, they are there for more of a cushion of guidance or direction to help us on this journey of life... idk I could be wrong, it's just my theory or my interpretation so far.

Like with every spiritual philosophy, Swedenborgian concepts get applied by people according to who they are. So, there are conservative Swedenborgians, liberal Swedenborgians, and everything in between. Concerning pre-marital sex, the basic principle laid out by Swedenborg is that the significance of every outer action depends upon the inner goals and intent. If pre-marital sex is coming from a place of the thrill of promiscuity and self-gratification, that is leading a person in a spiritually unhealthy and damaging direction. If pre-marital sex is coming from a place of genuine love for and commitment to someone, then that is leading in the direction of "true marriage love" that is heavenly. I can hear spirits. I am a child of God. I'm very close to God. I prayed for more discernment for almost a year. God gave me this ability.
I have had all kinds of experiences and with spirits and demons.

I was with a beautiful lady yesterday who is always surrounded by disgusting human beings-demons and mostly bad spirits. Her behavior, even speech matches the behavior of those around her. I can smell and feel their presence. She's beautiful, sexy and very, very in touch with she spiritual realm. We speak and laugh from somewhere else, mostly unintelligible to those around us. God has her I'm told but I can't see how, I just want to bust heads. No wonder I've been on the streets for the biggest part of 40 years, can't fix stupid.

Anyone who has the ability to rationally understand the effects of their actions is responsible for their actions. Evil spirits do put the thoughts and impulses to our minds, but we are responsible for the choice about whether to indulge and act on them or not. However, if for some reason a person is not able to rationally understand the effects of their actions, then they are not spiritually responsible. They certainly have to be stopped and prosecuted in the earthly sense, but in the afterlife they can be made to understand, and then can make their rational choices to purge those impulses and be a different person. I don't know which of these categories "Son of Sam" falls into, but fortunately the Lord knows!

Swedenborg doesn't seem to get into the subject of who the evil spirits are, does he? Let me fill in that gap with some modern revelation (of which I am not the source).
Prior to the creation of earth, a Grand Council was held in which the Father presented his plan for the creation of earth and our adventure in mortality, the purpose of which was to enable us to become more like our heavenly parents. That plan included the possibility of failure, the inevitability of suffering, and the necessity of a Savior to redeem us from our errors and sins, inasmuch as we could not truly learn without being actually exposed to alternatives and actually having just as much ability to choose wrongly as to choose rightly. One of our brothers - yes, we were all there - objected to the plan and proposed an alternative, one which did not require a Savior. He would simply compel everyone to make correct choices, and voila, not a single one of us would be lost. In return for having devised such a clever plan, he demanded that Father give him his glory, because, in his opinion, Father had clearly lost his marbles. He convinced a large number of our brothers and sisters to side with him, and thus began the War in Heaven. The end result was that Lucifer and his followers were cast out of heaven and forfeited the chance to enter into mortality. Those unembodied spirits are what Swedenborg describes as the evil spirits among us. (I wonder if there might also be spirits of the deceased wicked who have joined their ranks, although one might expect them to be immediately be cast into hell upon their demise, but I don't know if they, in spirit form, might be allowed to remain for a time among us.)
