yes we are fortunate to have them living here with us and get to help raise them. It's given us a new purpose in life and they're doing much better here
Good on you Rob, put the feet up & enjoy the festive season, it's snowing here at present, my poor old bike will be cold in his shed, the sooner I win the lottery the bettet, then I'd move over your way, nice weather, & Harley heaven 🖒😎
I'm going to try and enjoy it as much as i can & hope for a speedy recovery from the hand surgery. I don't know what i'd do if I couldn't ride all year. If I could win the lottery there's so many things i could spend it on like bikes and hot rods Of course the wife would want all new furniture for the house lol
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I see mostly sports bikes lane splitting, not many others. Only seen a few Harley baggers do it over the years. They're usually fair weather, weekend riders around here.
Another dose of Bum Tightening, Rob! You say you are now experiencing below freezing temperatures in Bakersfield at the moment! It's amazing that just a few miles from you, down the Pacific Highway 1 and Highway 101, there are devastating wildfires raging at Ventura and Santa Paula; and down to LA and San Diago! Wild weather conditions of the Pacific Coastal waters! I woke up this morning to find my England World (and Daisy) buried in deep snow and temps of 27F rising to 32F! I can well do without snow! Snow in my Housing Estate means I am stranded! Take care Rob, and all the bet for the Hand Op!
yes it does get the bum tightening experience at times. So Cal is experiencing the Santa Ana wind conditions which means temps ,much higher along with high winds, it's like Summer down there. It seems as if all of So Cal is on fire right now. All we are getting from it is smoke coming over the Grape Vine Mountains into the valley but not warmer temps. I couldn't handle living in the snow again. I'm hoping for an easy operation just to fix the fingers this time. Thanks for your well wishes and commenting
I never get tired of listening to the sound of that Sporty's exhaust or watching you lane split. However, I'm always nervous and expect to see an automobile rear view bite the dust. Ride safe Robert and best of luck with the upcoming surgery.
I never get tired of the sound also I probably blip the throttle too much just to hear it lol. I hope I never see the rear end of a car like that and I do take precautions and don't always lane split every where I ride because of heavy traffic and scary drivers. Thanks for the well wishes on the surgery & for commenting
Robb, Another great vlog! Robb, I have all 2 local Harley dealers looking for a used Harley 72. I want one with high miles and needs work that I can get a good deal on. I want to trick it out as bobber style. I am going to keep the small tank it comes with I'll just ride around town. I want your color with a solo white seat. I want to chrome it all too. I am keeping my Harley 2014 Fat Bob but if I can get a 72 at a wholesale price for one that maybe has high miles I will like to get me one. Take care and nice vlog as usual.
Thank you. I've seen some 72 on the market but most with low miles for around $9 k . Some people who have them think they'll become collector items? You need to find a private seller who bought one then discovered they didn't like the way it handled with the 21" front tire & forward controls. I bet most at the dealerships will be low mileage bikes with higher prices than say a 48 or custom Sportster of the same year. Good hunting my friend
Good luck with the surgery Rob, hope all goes well. You didn't get much mileage out of your tyre, & you're a careful rider ay. I hope you & your family have the best xmas possible ,😎👍
thank you for your well wishes on the surgery. I'm hoping for a quick recovery. No not as much miles as I'd like to get but the Shinko is a much softer compound and does hold the road better with my style of riding which is important. Thank you & Merry Christmas to you & your family. The Grandkids will be off to their mothers for the two week break so it'll be lonely this year without them here. We're celebrating early before they have to go.
yep best part of living in Central Calif valley is year round riding weather followed by cheaper house prices than the rest of Calif. Thanks I really like the look, sound & performance of the short shot pipes. Snow is nice to look at but I couldn't handle living in it again. Thanks for commenting
The roads & intersections all look pretty much the same on my daily commute. I always ride the same roads except when I've got an appt. It does seem as I'm just going around in a large circle at times day after day. Thanks for commenting
Yes the newer rear brake pads are a much harder compound than the stock pads but they stop better and should last longer. I've almost gotten used to the squeal lol
My next purchase will hopefully be a bigger cruiser for long tips with the wife, if she can ride again after her back surgeries. So far she's not ready to try riding on the back yet, maybe by next year? I'll keep the Sportster for commuting to work & the Softail as a on going project bike, since I wouldn't get much for it if I sold it. I think I've go my wife convinced of going that route but it all depends on if she feels well enough to ride without pain. If not I wont have much use for a larger cruiser bike.
You are so fortunate to be able to watch your grandchildren grow and flourish. Life is indeed good...but goodness only grows in a cultivated garden.

That's damn cold. Better bring that bike into the house where it's warmer
Robert Robb if only man... I’m 4 floors up in top of a block .... I do like a challenge though !
Late night rounds ... hehe... enjoyed watching you knife up the traffic. Do you see many baggers splitting in California

Old 72 sounds great Rob. Ride safe...
agreed!
thank you I'm really happy with the short shot pipes sound & performance Best investment I've made in changes maybe?

Good point there, once they are all stopped, they cant do kuch.
Bike sounds alot throatier this week, maybe its the cool weather?
I noticed it immediately and was waiting for him to comment on it. Good ear
much
yes much safer when they're stopped. I'm thinking the pipes are getting a deeper sound as the get older? I don't know why but I like it.
what's up with your front squeekie brakes.
lol that's my rear squeekie brakes I replaced the OEM pads with harder material pads and the squeek Next time I'll go back to OEM pads
Do all your intersections look the same, or were you riding round the block over n over?
The roads & intersections all look pretty much the same on my daily commute. I always ride the same roads except when I've got an appt. It does seem as I'm just going around in a large circle at times day after day. Thanks for commenting
My partner would be the same 🖒😎
Brakes a little squeely there huh?
Yes the newer rear brake pads are a much harder compound than the stock pads but they stop better and should last longer. I've almost gotten used to the squeal lol
I ride an Ultra Limited so wife and i can take long trips, but if i could afford it i would have a 72 also , just for myself.
