Mind blown! I played this a lot back in the day and could never get past Figurits Revenge. You absolutely breezed through all the levels! Well played, Sir!
I remember getting to walls but I was only a step ahead of you. F.R. could be a tough level. Before looking at this, I forgot I got as far as walls. It's been so many years since I've played this.
Amazing longplay. This game was hard as a kid, especially the dramatic falling of Jumpman when losing a life was frustrating to watch. Seeing this video makes me appreciate the game more, because each level introduced a new element.
This is such a creative game! See, many of these one-screen collection games from the C64 tend to get repetitive quickly, but this one has a surprising amount of variety to it.

I had this on Colecovision and never could beat it. A ground-breaking, but very difficult, obstacle course platformer for its time. Hearing the different tones from the C64 just sound so weird to me.
I played soo much to Jumpman! It was sooo fun :D The best game ever :) ♥Very fun to be able to see it again! ♥My only problem was the joystick which was not reliable. I remember one day I was close to the last level and I died because the joystick did not follow my command. I had a memorable tantrum. My mother saw me rolling on the floor in rage (I was like 15 or 16 years old. Ah ah! I had gone completely nut!)). She was overwhelmed :D :D Ha ha! The good old days ;)
Very impressive! I rarely got past level 5 and level 7+ looked totally unfamiliar so I must never have gotten past 6. I had a cheat code for unlimited lives on original Jumpman which helped me get good, but I was not aware of one for Jumpman Jr.
Played the coleco version as well as a kid, great memories.... maybe the coleco game with the best gameplay. But... did you ever manage to beat it at level 1? (the fastest) I was THAT expert!!! lol (it would be very hard to do now)
Jumpman was one of the first games I bought but I don't think I was ever able to make it all the way through. Never had Jr--think it was cartridge based, right?
Wow highest level i got as a kid was 10...on speed 3. Speed 2 only got me to walls. Wasnt till years later with an emulators save state feature was i able to beat it. You are a jumpman jr god bro!
I'm pretty certain it wasn't written in basic but assembly language (machine code). No way you'd get an arcade game that quick in basic on the c64. And you could break out of some machine code games.
@@fordprefect80 It was in basic and remember erasing any copyright symbols and putting in my friends fake crew name. Something like Copyright Gangsta 1983 or something like that. I would give extra lives and so forth. It was one of the way I learned how to program by reading the source code.
@@inachu I just loaded it up on emulator and its definitely machine code, as its listing is a one line basic program calling sys2059. I've played many basic written games on the c64 and have programmed some myself. They in general run like a morbidly obese sixty year old. You sure you got the right game?
@@fordprefect80 There was a part that was also "LIST"able on the tandy. The code you use today for that game is of course real code but there was also by the same company a BASIC version and I played it both on the tandy trash 80 color and on the c-64 I just started googling to see if I can find the code for the tandy version first.
My dad bought a C64 for us kids to play with. This game was by far my favorite. I would play it FOREVER. Good times.
I need this intro as a ringtone. (Yes, I'm talking about that in 2024)
Brings back a lot of memories :) Thank you for this video!
For an old game, it still has some of the best sound.
It sure does!!!
Mind blown! I played this a lot back in the day and could never get past Figurits Revenge. You absolutely breezed through all the levels! Well played, Sir!
The description outright says it's a tool-assisted run...

This is a super underrated game series. I'm surprised it hasn't been ported to more modern systems.
Actually I came here to see the gameplay after finding it in the Google Play Store

In a way kind of like original Super Mario Bros Levels. Sort of.
Best game ever!! :D
I jump from bed, run downstairs
Butter some toast, add apricot jam
Say, ‘Good Morning’ to Mum & Dad
Still asleep, still in bed and
CHORUS
Play with my computer
Play with my computer
Now, insert the disk, type in ‘load’
‘Junior Jumpman’ press the ‘return’
Screen says searching for ‘Junior Jumpman’
‘Loading’ ‘Ready’
CHORUS
‘Syntax error’ what can it be?
‘Syntax error’ press the wrong key
Just before I try again
Let me have a think now
My father doesn’t know a byte from a bite
My mother I’m afraid is not much better
They don’t understand, they don’t know where it’s at
And what can you do with parents like that who
CHORUS
‘Syntax error’ what can it be?
‘Syntax error’ press the wrong key
CHORUS
‘Syntax error’ what can it be?
‘Syntax error’ press the wrong key
props
Wow, the concept of Transporters and wind effect back then long before it showed up in games in the 90's.
bu oyunu çok oynadık zamanında.çok da güzel oyundur eğlenceli. yine oynamayı çok isterdim
This game looks way more exciting than a first glance might tell you.
Hellstones was gnarly and nerve-wracking - even watching it again now
I was 10 years. Now 47. Much remembers also for ugh! - Action biker and blue max
I had this on Colecovision and never could beat it. A ground-breaking, but very difficult, obstacle course platformer for its time. Hearing the different tones from the C64 just sound so weird to me.
Darn I made it to Blackout as a teenager but never knew how close that was to winning. Thanks for the vid! Those were golden times..
I remember having to tap the joy all the way through and had my brother draw a map out, so it was a breeze after that!
Very good playthrough. I love this game, and know how hard it can be.

With the deluge of retro stuff on Switch & Steam these days, this needs a re-release.
Loved this game. Speed 3, over and over. If memory serves me correct after level 12 it repeats random levels for infinity.
Very impressive! I rarely got past level 5 and level 7+ looked totally unfamiliar so I must never have gotten past 6. I had a cheat code for unlimited lives on original Jumpman which helped me get good, but I was not aware of one for Jumpman Jr.
wow its Luigi guys look!!!
Best ever!!!!
I❤it. thanks.
The hours spent playing this on Coleco-Vision lol. When I finally beat the 12th level, my brother threw his controller. Game rage isn't new kids lol.
Played the coleco version as well as a kid, great memories.... maybe the coleco game with the best gameplay.
But... did you ever manage to beat it at level 1? (the fastest) I was THAT expert!!! lol (it would be very hard to do now)
I was so good at this game. I played if for hours on end as a kid!
Well done! I've only made it about halfway through the game
I remember this game!
How to make an amazing game with few bytes..
Now, even the most basic games has 100 Mb at least.
On later stages you had to be ultra gentle with that joystick
I played this game for hours in the 80’s! Anyone have any suggestions on the best C64 emulator (PC or iOS)? I need to play this again.
I think I never got past the Hellstones level :/
Jumpman was one of the first games I bought but I don't think I was ever able to make it all the way through. Never had Jr--think it was cartridge based, right?
Both Jumpman games had cartridge releases though. Jumpman Junior was just a scaled down version of the original with less levels
Playing on the c-64 was best because you could break out of the game and mod the game to truly make it your own.
Good memories. 👴
Wow highest level i got as a kid was 10...on speed 3. Speed 2 only got me to walls. Wasnt till years later with an emulators save state feature was i able to beat it. You are a jumpman jr god bro!
Epyz anthem
I had a love-hate relationship with this game. Great job though. Your reflexes are outstanding.
-> tool assisted....
Walls looks like a more difficult version of Jumping Blocks.
hahahaha you made hailstones look so easy...
Played it years ago on a comodor 64
OMG, OMG ... OMG 8-)
The c-64 vesrion you could break out of the game since it was written all in basic and edit the game to your own liking.
Hätte es doch damals schon meisterschaften gegeben, ich war richtig gut, wenn nicht noch viel besser.
JJ was the technically more challenging one, but Jumpan had a more interesting variety.
Agreed. However for the ultimate "Jumpman" like experience I recommend Ultimate Wizard
I always thought this game had the Wizard Graphics or vice versa .
Played a lot 30years ago
if you don't stop and stand under the bottom middle screen fire to make it look like your hair is on fire, you're not playing this game right!
10:15 Portal!
Back when the world wasn't a mental institution
With the inmates in charge because the staff "Don't get to tell us what to do"
I could play this on a c-64 and also break out of the game as it was written in basic.
Funny how nobody has the source for it.
