I was leery about watching this series at first. I saw it on UA-cam and I resisted watching it because I didn’t know who had created it. Was it Hollywood creating a blasphemous version? I figured it probably wasn’t Hollywood, because there would be more advertising and big stars. But if it was a Christian production, I wondered about the quality of it. Would it be faithful, but badly done? But I took a chance, and discovered it was a faithful depiction of Christ, and was extremely well acted and it was well written. The Gospels leave a lot out. They aren’t meant to tell the backstory of the Apostles. This series adds fictional backstory, but the writers try to make it plausible based on the culture of the time and based on history. Other depictions of Mary Magdalene never show her as being possessed by demons, yet she was. The last scene of Part 1 was so emotional, that I was hooked and have watched the series several times now.

I was really moved by the humanity of how Jonathan portrayed Jesus. He definitely seemed to be channeling the Holy Spirit. I watched the whole series in one sitting and was overwhelmed.

The Franciscan , both videos I saw first one Jonathan Rouemie spoke about himself his walk in faith and his family origins and his testimony of his encounter with Jesus Christ as a child as a young adult and in his praying about his vocations. To work what God wants his direction to go. Daily. Yes it was interesting. Second video spoke on his role on "The Chosen " the series about the life of Jesus Christ as it was per scripture and historically researched to bring best possible reality of Greatest story told about Jesus and His discipline and their life's as well. Their calling and ministry . The testimony s of those people who recieved graces of healing and Ressurected from the Dead as Lazarus was Jesus Christ spoke his word to him. And other miracle s . As fishes in the empty net and Jesus spoke try again against all odds Simon said yes Lord I will do as you say and behold the fish net was over loaded that paid the debts that Simon and others had for the taxes owed to the Romans. Makes for exciting accounts of scripture in visual and allows those who watch see life as it was in those days lives how it was . For different Faith's and non believers. You can make your own choice to seek and believe or just watch and be an observer of this series , miracle s can be seen , or even realized by just watching and asking for Jesus Christ name. As IAM a believer. Catholic . I enjoy watching it . Very Good witness about Jesus Christ life. Also good for Children learning about God , Jesus Christ. As I was a former CCD teacher for third grade first holy communion . I wish I had the series where he had children praying and the our father in Hebrew also. Beautiful! I Loved those scenes!!
Pretty good show. I thought it was Catholic, especially the Wedding scene. Salvation is in Jesus Christ...not sacraments; that can be pooped out; however, the Spirit of God, once believed and received will abide in the heart forever.
Jonathan has so much grace. I don't believe anyone could do a better job in that role.
