Because of Ed and the messages in the podcasts, I'm in the best shape of my life. At 48, I can do now the half spliit and head stand. I went from 155 to 128 by lifting weights, stretching, resting, and being surrounded by like-minded people.

I love the mention that because you've gone to the gym doesn't make you a trainer. And I have to add to the mapping out a program, if the the trainer isn't considering your medical history and current conditions...get rid of them. I have had clients come to me in the past with some real damage from trainers who just threw them in a workout without asking them anything.. Especially women who have had babes, they need to heal. It's important your trainer works with your medical team and has all the information.

2 things not really talked about much. 1. As you age your body changes and what kind of workouts are optimal. People train like they did in their 20's and pick back up in their 40's and get injuries as bones, ligaments, tendons are not the same as the once were. 2. People can OVERSTRESS themselves out with this physical fitness stuff. There are people that are so worried about calories and appearance that they create very high levels of stress hormones in their bodies. Controlling how long you live is an illusion. There are people who eat like crap that live to 100 and those that do everything right and gone at 50. You might can help the odds but it's not a given. People need to relax, enjoy life, and be happy. That more than anything can lead to good mental and physical health.

If you have never wrestled an experienced wrestler or BJJ competitor, under your weight, you likely wouldn't know and would be forgiven. That wisdom was earned and your joke was not funny.
