Great video as always! Two questions I do want to answer for you though; 1. Most of the vintage and classic arcade cabinets are still at the park, they were just moved over to the new 2nd arcade by the Thunderbolt while Penny Arcade gets worked on (not sure what it is they're doing with it though) 2. Phantom's purple train is currently waiting on parts, so expect it to be on one train for a while :/ Also personally I absolutely love the new SwingShot scheme, the old one was starting to look really faded and tired and I think the new one is much more creative and fun. Pagoda I don't hate, I think the concept of it being half and half is cute, but I do feel like it would've looked better if the colors were split from corner to corner instead of down the middle. I'm sure we'll get used to it though. The shooting gallery replacement is really funny. I loved the shooting gallery, but I get why they probably wanted to remove it after what happened last fall, and also the props in there could probably be seen as offensive stereotypes nowadays. But the RC Trucks are an absolutely memeworthy replacement, that I actually ended up liking in a "so bad it's good" kind of way. From what I've heard from people who actually tried it out though, it was apparently surprisingly fun. You can actually pick up and set down trailers too. I feel like it could honestly be fun to mess around with if you're there with a group of friends, which I definitely am gonna make my friends play next time we visit the park together. I agree with you that the Coffee Shop was a GREAT addition. My only nitpick is I feel like the brick scheme kind of clashes with the top half of the building's art deco structure, but eh whatever. For the most part it's really cute, and I've heard the coffee is surprisingly good. The fact that they serve donuts and Nancy B's cookies are a great touch as well. I actually really don't like coffee myself, but, when I worked in sweeps one of the most common questions was "where can you get coffee in the park?", and our only options were a Dunkin' stand in the Kaleidoscope and a starbucks vending machine. Glad to see so many people like it! I'm really excited for this season, and I'm sure I'll see you around!
Amazing camera work on this video! Really felt like I was there! Alot of fun to watch! I'm pretty sad about the shooting gallery, lots of fun times playing it or being around it. The pagoda needs to be one color or the other, looks almost purple now. I also really don't like the paint jobs on swing shot, cosmic chaos, or that coffee shop. I just feel like the parks new "look" feels extremely garish and in your face. I strongly preferred the older designs from the 00s. Felt more homey strangely enough. They really gotta fix steel curtain and black widow! Been way too long! The arcade being shortened and removing the classic games is extremely worrying. I loved playing Carnevil and tmnt! I dont know anywhere else that has them! Or pinball! I basically live through these videos since as a life long fan of Kemmywood, I think I'd be more upset than anything if I went there today! Kennywood really feels like it's loosing a good deal of its character with these changes.
Yeah I do think the 2000's look felt more "homey", but after the park wasn't kept up very well in the 2010's I think all these facelifts are good to see, and even though they're going for a different look I really like the bright and colorful schemes, it feels more fun. Also, don't worry about the classic games in the arcade, it wasn't shown in this video but there's a second arcade now near the Thunderbolt and most of the classic and vintage machines were moved over there while Penny Arcade gets worked on.
