Thank you for this tutorial. I've seen other tutorials on how to do sun rays, but I like your method better. However, you lost me at around 6:08 when you created a new layer mask and then you brought the Gradient Editor up but I didn't see how you did that. I tried to rewind and find your cursor to see what you did, but I couldn't find it. Just a tip on teaching, don't skip steps. Tell the student what you are doing for every step. Otherwise, you were very helpful up to that point. Thanks.
@@crysania vector mask is created when you already have a layer mask already created. I finally figured out what he did, the thing you have to do is to chose gradient on the tool bar (left side of your screen), choose radiant and play with different lenghts etc
in the tool columns on the left of the screen, its the 6th tool down in the second column. in photoshop you can type "Gradient Tool" into the search bar and it will show you where it is located. So to use the gradient tool, you click on the mask and then select what kind of gradient you want to use (on the top left of the screen). then just click and drag over your image.
Could you be a little slower on your next, be precise and if possible use a cursor highlighter so that we could see what you are clicking. You spoke like you were lecturing but you were suppose to teach. There is a difference. Cheers.
Unfortunately, you don't explain where to select each menu item from ...you just do it by yourself and show it in a hurry..If this is a training video, you have to 'train' the viewers by going slowly, showing from where you selected a particular menu etc..

Thank you so much for this tutorial. Wow, posted 8 years ago and still very helpful!
It gave me the sun rays I needed plus I like all the tweaks you show that I did not see in other tutorials. Thank you so much!

me too man, i'm confused
Same at 5:47 I'm stuck. Don't know how to save after following his instruction.
Yup this is where I got stuck too. The thing he clicks on on my screen says "vector mask" and not "layer mask" and then I just get lost.

Thanks! This is awesome!
Can you explain the clipping part on the Hue Saturation layer I lost you there.
+
Hold ALT and move your mouse over the line below, and click.
I'm struggling with this too, nothing happens when I click alt (option key on Macbook), it just keeps making copies of the Hue Saturation layer
here you can find a slower explanation ua-cam.com/video/thEnVCpDpAc/v-deo.html
@@mariapaulina3965 literally i was like what's he's saying God thank you for saving my time 😂
terrible tutorial. every photoshop tutorial I watch assumes the I know anything about photoshop.........I'm watching because I know Jack squat
There is a lot of way to do this and I think this one is one of the best! good job
okay tutorial but you can't just do random clicks in a tutorial without explain it, which you did towards the end....
yeah some of his actions were so fast had to rewind a few times to check what he did
Thank you so much! I just started using the program today and was worried it'll be too confusing, but I'm really happy with it! :D

not simple but well done
setting the mode of the sun ray gradient to soft light instead of screen works better for me. cool tutorial :D
edit:
new sub btw
Calvin Hollywood showed this technique awhile ago. You sure took it further as in changing the colors.
looks interesting to do sun rays in this way, but too much and too fast for beginner!
Great method but you are skipping steps! 5:47 and now 6:11.
