Fun fact. That Jurassic Park moment that they were talking about is actually 100% realistic. It was indeed a Unix system and the 3D thing she was using was a real program from back then that you can still use to this day. It’s a 3D file system viewer that lets you look at your system files and directories in a series of 3D maps and lets you click on them. The exact application that was used in the film was called Silicon Graphics 3D File System Viewer and it was developed for IRIX which was a UNIX OS from back then. You can find modern versions of it under the name of File System Navigator that will work on Windows 7 and Windows 10.

The best part of the movie was the lead-up to the drop. The very concept of the draft was horrifying since we’ve had them in the past, and the survival rate was so low in the future. Kyle nailed it too. The family component were oddly the best parts, making it even more unsettling that Dan was statistically likely to die, and lose this likable family when he jumps to the future.

They could have sent back an alien corpse from the future for scientists to study for the next 30 years and develop weapons to fight them

Writing is a fucking joke nowadays. I mean the plot of the story wasn’t really horrible. It’s the execution when it comes to placing scenes in a chronological order that makes sense. I mean we see when they get teleported into the future, Chris Pratt’s character has no reaction to losing about his entire military force from falling miles into a swimming pool. No way they told him that cgi happened or else he would have better acting. Only good thing about this movie was the fantastic CGI of the aliens, and the scenes with the son and father killing the ending alien. Movie was definitely touched by the LGBTQ crowd you can see that for sure

I liked the movie - besides the plot holes, it was a good action flick. However, as far as plot holes go, here's one, SPOILER ALERT:
The future soldiers first jump back in time to the middle of that soccer (EU football) game, where they do the announcement. However, when Chris' character asks if he could travel in time to wherever, the answer he got was no, because they can only jump between the "bridges" that they have built in current time and future time... Quick question - how did the initial group of soldiers travel back? Obviously present time had yet not had any contact with the future, there sure as shit wasn't any bridge built there yet, so how were they able to travel back in time to that point? They built the "bridge" after they've gotten there, so how were they able to get there initially???

The trailer was really bad. But if you like fun action scenes then the movie is solid. Plenty of “Holy Shit!” moments that keep the movie entertaining. I’m not sure why Kyle went into this expecting anything other than action shlock but still. It’s really good action shlock.
