    I'm slow when strapping my loads and always over strap. OCD is a good thing when it comes to safety. 30 years on the road and not on violation.

      Paranoia helps too haha. Throwing on a strap “just to be safe” and constantly checking your mirrors for signs of load shift. Least for flatbed drivers

    Got your channel recommended to me from UA-cam, clicked on it, watched 20 seconds of it, heard you say you were the fuck up of Flatbeds, and had to subscribe even before I watched the whole video, oh looky there, The ugly truth about rookie driving, that ones next.

    Flatbed is soo much work, i think really the only benefit is usually having a lower overall trailer height, otherwise give me my van and let me roll.

    At 9:30 he should wrapped that excess chain around the ratchet handle to prevent it from popping open. But there are several things I would have done differently.

    what keeps the Trane from shifting from side to side? It looks like there is only 4 securement points? How about tipping over? Surprised there isn’t at least 1 or 2 straps.

    • @gregbarth9617
      @gregbarth9617 5 років тому +1

      Can't strap them, it would damage the aluminum.

    • @josereyes9726
      @josereyes9726 Рік тому

      Trane has 4anchor points which shoukd of had been used with x pattern... prevents frim shifting side ways and forward and back movement....the way it was done is incorrect....the front piece two chains back and front ti prevent back/forward movement...two belly straps...

    • @josereyes9726
      @josereyes9726 Рік тому

      Those he used aren't proper anchor points and it's anchor more in the center if the load big no....it shiukd be towards the end and front...

    @5:00 AND 13:25 y'all just JUMPED RIGHT PAST how you create and keep that slack over and in between those (2) two separate securing points.
    Spend more time on the ACTUAL procedure and edit out the bs and banter.

    does flatbed get pulled over a lot and pulled in scale house?

    • @adammizell6227
      @adammizell6227 6 років тому

      J Bobb No more than any other truck in the fleet. If you have a prepass it determines it off of you CSA score. Good score they are more likely to let you bypass. If you don't have one you go on each scale house you go by that's open.

    • @shapeworld1517
      @shapeworld1517 6 років тому +4

      J Bobb yes THE hell they do in cali they fucks with flat bed more than van

    • @gumby442
      @gumby442 6 років тому +3

      flatbeds due indeed get D.O.T more then other trucks , inspectors want to make sure load is secured and safe for transportation , as well as the unit being safe for said transportation....having said that ...don't much care for above training , but it was most likely due to camera,... so i'll give it the benefit of doubt and trust it will be taken a bit more serious in the future

    If the guy filming would get in there and help you you might get done a little faster instead of him shooting the shit he needs to get there and learn how to do it himself before I started doing videos

  • @jjny191
    @jjny191 4 роки тому

    Typical prime. Shorts, slip on shoes and no damn clue how to secure, or let alone know how to train a new guy. Big companies put these guys as trainers after a 3months of experience and they can’t even do it right themselves. No wonder our industry gets no respect! Also this guy recording saying thanks for training me. Seriously? You didn’t do anything besides act like you learned or did something. I pray you are never driving down the road next to my family!
