Green Flash, San Diego, 18 Feb 2009

I've been looking for the green flash for 40+ years, and I finally saw it, two days in a row, in San Diego on 17 and 18 Feb 2009. The second night I was lucky enough to get it on video. Next phenomenon up for videoing is ball lightning!

I am fortunate enough to have seen ball lightning once at the Jersey shore when a line of severe thunderstorms was moving through. My window had an unobstructed view of the bay and I was awakened by the intense storm. Amidst all the rapid-fire and close lightning strikes I saw a bright glowing orb float down from the sky, slowly, hover briefly over the water, and then a loud clap and a cloud of steam when it hit the water. It was by far the coolest natural phenomenon I've ever seen. If I'm ever lucky enough to see it again I hope I can record it.

You said "40+ years" Is it really THAT hard to see? I have a slo-mo cam, I bet I could get it easy....
