11:30. “Karcher. Helping men ignore their wives since 1935” 😂
I’m so glad the blue peril is getting some love 😂
Hi Jon. A good tip from AM details for wheels is to jack each wheel as your working just enough to clear the ground and then you can spin the wheel round as you go to get a good clean. Also this allows a little extra room to clean the arches 👍
Love the Range Jon known Maz for quite some time now there completely dedicated to producing the best products possible hence the small range of products cracking video my friend ✊🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧
I use Garage Therapy’s Wheel shampoo and love it. Really thick and foamy and long lasting. Good kick of cleaning power too
Life-long dedicated woman: "Jon, love?"
Dude deep into his thing: "wot?"
:D
Jon, I've pretty much, moved across to GT products. The 3 shampoos are just brilliant, alongside BH Foam. The Zero is awesome as an extra bit extra in the foam lance, and the wheel shampoo in my foam sprayer, does great at holding the auto wheels onto the surface. Good review, as always.
Love the channel Jon
You dedication to cleaning that wheel, I would have washed the car dried it and be on my first pint the time it took you to clean that wheel lol
I really like GT wheel shampoo for its brightening effect, its not very strong, but very good for a maintenance wash.
A few years back I put mintex m1166 brake pads on my car and it destroyed my wheels in no time, the clear cote is gone, the car brakes great, but wheel cleaning after some fun driving is a nightmare, 3 hits with a korossol and you can still see some imbedded brake dust, and brake discs melt like butter with those pads. I’ll be going back to original pads after wheel refurbishment, as I don’t do any track days anymore.
Get yourself a stool mate for doing the wheels haha
You do make life hard for yourself - get a mechanics stool to sit on for cleaning wheels. Makes the job much easier.
This time it look like something, you dont need to have. I see how much time you spend scrubbing you wheels, so final result is done by shampoo or your hand work?
I thing Surfex HD gives you better, cheaper and easier job.
(with Korrosol second stage if necessary)
Yes,without beautiful foam... 😉
What did you do there John (5:18), did you twist for more flow or less flow?? Because you seem to get much more foam after that adjustment. Curious to know if the flow rate on my MJJC makes a difference regarding foam thickness.
Jon. Would it be possible for you to do a revised winter prep video using the best of range products on one of your BMW’s?
problem is I cant put protection down on my cars because they need paintwork soon, but we can perhaps try and do theorteritical ones
Fantastic video, would be nice to see some more videos on the e46
Not many ClubSports left in this sort of condition. Looks immaculate.
its falling to bits owen, paintwork wise at least.. laquer peel, dinks etc.
In my humble opinion Jon, GT are a top brand. All their products are top rate. You mentioned HDD Brake through, again a very good wheel shampoo
I'm yet to try GT products. Heard a lot about the wheel shampoo. But honestly, Surfex HD is that all rounder for me. At 10% with a foam pump followed by some BSD and my wheels are always clean and tidy on my daily. As I use HD as a prewash I can get a lot of value out of it. I recently bought a 2008 TT as a second car and that had like 10 years worth of brake dust on the wheels. To get it decent ish I tried Brake Buster which is great but expensive. The job required all 500ml neat and a lot of scrubbing, rinse, repeat.
I use surfex as well for the same reason at 10:1 its a strong degreaser and decent wheel cleaner and very very cheap. But the economy of the GT wheel cleaner is pretty solid, it suds up thicker in a bucket and it does a good job. Its definetly worth trying I mean it, it may challenge your opinion and I know lots love these products. let me know. if you buy some get some /decon
33:23 Toothbrush cam!
haha that tickled me :)
Id like to see a Wheel shampoo battle Jon. IK foamer dwell time dirt simulater, price and such like.
You could get a pole under that tree to the left, attach some hooks to the garage fascia and have a temporary shade sail to do your work out of direct sunlight?
thats some A-team magic right there!
@@forensicunplugged4295 Love it when a plan comes together 😏
If Gliptone UK has Magtastik that’ll take care of anything and safe for coatings/wheel protection
I am a big fan of your channel Jon, but I actually fell asleep whilst listening to the hypnotic sound of your continuous scrubbing!
This vid had a bit too much Detail for me!!
Varied results I read on these products. As always a great video, when was it recorded, weather looks great.
I think "stubby" should be renamed "stabby" with the way you was going at it! 😂😂
I don't get what happened with this car last video I seen was the bonnet opened while u was driving and smashed up the whole thing roof as well ..is it fixed now is it ?
I think it’s another bonnet that he put on and just wrapped matte black
I would try some GT Zero Iron Oxide its excellent on the body and wheels. I used to like BH Auto wheels but I think GT have the edge now.
For a minute I was sure, Dan...Dan... Dan...Dan Dan.Dan.Dan No he hasn't heard me Daaaaaaaan!
Jon....u need a pint of Guinness now !!!!
Hi Jon, do you think surfex pro is just as effective? I tend to soak mine down with surfex pro and brush down and then if any fallout follow the same process as you with auto wheels.
Was thinking Auto Wheel would've saved you all the elbow grease you put in before if you'd just gone with it straight away. That stuff is amazing.
The side bucket the main bucket for your brushes. Where did you get it from. Cheers .
I asked the same question for a previous video. The reply was he picked them up in a hardware store, they are for kitchen sink organisation rather than specifically for detailing.
I Hate cleaning wheels youre better of putting them in Gyeon Rim for example
The extension lance you are using is it the 450mm one on the in2detaling site?😊
hey james, no my one was from amazon its not great though a bit wobbly but does the job
May be wrong but Zero is the strongest shampoo and the wheel is the next strongest.
That is correct 👍🏻
@@GarageTherapyOfficial Good because I add a drop of Zero to boost cleaning power in various shampoos including One Wheel.
Where can I buy the brushes and kit you use in the wheels bucket ? I’ve bought various over the years and there useless.
the stubby I think bonnymans sell it, autoglym sell it in halfords as well its known and the atlasta wheel crush. The blue ones are the EZ brushed (big small and "Go detail" for arches see my review). I use vikan flat face as well. also use detail factor hoggs hairs.
@@forensicunplugged4295 thank you. I’m on it.
after the soap and rinse, there is a transformation
polish the wheels use a polish?
Hi John - Discount code for GT isnt working
I use screwfix shampoo for the wheels and it's great for me, I've used kkd ceramic coating so doesn't need much
Have you used autobrite direct -recon shampoo
no m8
That wheel shampoo seems pretty good, lots of foam. But as stated on the bottle, it seems it's more meant for maintenance. I wouldn't expect a lot from this product on trashed wheels like they were.
And again, on Auto wheel, i keep seeing this product under perform on embedded brake dust. Carpro ironX is in my opinion more effective, maybe because it's only made for decontamination, not cleaning and decontamination like Auto Wheel is.
And as a dedicated wheel cleaner for maintenance, it could be a good solution, as a 2-in-1. But the price and the fact that you are not supposed to dilute Auto Wheel, it gets way too expensive as a routine wash every 2-3 weeks.
i've tried 2-3 products like auto-wheel, wheel cleaner and fallout remover in one product (sonax full effect and meguiars). It is not for me, they are nice but not if you are concerned with the price per wash. And as full fallout removers, they under perform traditionnal one like iron X or gyeon iron.
I think having a concentrated wheel cleaner, and a fallout remover is the way to go. Maybe next i'll try BH korrosol against ironX, i'm sure it will perform about the same.
Korrosol is better IMHO. There are cleaning agents added to Auto Wheel. If you see, they are both priced the same but John uses Korrosol for a lot of his shoots. Korrosol is all decontamination based.
I have the same issue with ingrained dust n dirt on my sons 208 GTi . The last owner must never of cleaned the inners , almost brown inside , looked ruddy awful . Took that shampoo and lots of fallout to get em ok but they seem a mat finish so Im wary of what I can add to protect them from this happening again
KKD R-Evolve Matte.
Are you still using the K7 FC what lance is it you are using? I am after a new pressure washer as my K3 Does not feel powerful enough anymore (think its the nozzle tbh) but good excuse for an upgrade.
k7 full control with in2detailing quick release gun upgrade mate
@@forensicunplugged4295 Cheers
I have to be honest, I wasn't really impressed with this wheel cleaner.
Didn't seem to be outstanding, compared to other products I've used and seen. 🤔
nothing really beats just surfex with a bit of korrossol or autowheel
@@martin1649 agreed. I’m struggling to see what GT wheel shampoo does that Surfex HD in a foamer couldn’t do.
@@martin1649 it’s pretty average imo. Foams up well and keeps the wheel well lubricated and keeps the auto wheel from drying out as well.
In situations like this you should use some better products that work more efficient.
1 NERTA WHEEL SHINE SUPER to start with, it's an alkaline, pretty much the best on the market today.
2. Poorboys World
Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner which is acidic.
Any suggestions on how to remove stubborn brake dust (thick black baked on stuff) tryed chemical guys wheel cleaner no joy
Bilt Hamber Auto wheels Chris. Failing that wonder wheels or a wheel cleaning acid. just try and take the wheel off with acids or avoid like letting them dry or hit unpainted calipers.
@@forensicunplugged4295 many thanks
My last words on this matter.Empty promise and guarantee does make a good company!!!!! And good service I also brought something 3 months before and it took 5 weeks. They lost the order. what a great service.!!!!!!!
Discs please not rotors
Very sorry but I would trust garage therapy and owner in any detail with them .DON'T TRUST THEM.
