idk how to use cameras lol
Hi Sam. This is Tamino's grandfather. He was a famous Egyptian singer:
ua-cam.com/video/d_zdXY49wiY/v-deo.html
Say two things that are good about the camera work. :)
You are using rule of thirds, so that's basically most of what the camera world uses.
Artistic photography/cinematography is good. Friendly reminder that the entertainment industry should only go for consenting things, though. PSA on cameras and their use, has nothing to do with the video really, just a plug for making sure all photography /videography is consensual, which is an important PSA, and the program I was in taught this - you don't have to do things when you are uncomfortable with them.
Though it seems like you are using the camera well enough for the purpose of the reaction videos. :)
Nice use of rule of thirds, and your lighting seems fairly even.

Wow, I can't believe that this is really happening... There are no Tamino reactions on UA-cam at all, and now having one from one of my favorite youtubers... Can't wait to watch it!
I am surprised and so happy too
Same, i love this song
I HAD THE SAME REACTION
emre yucelen did one. an amazinhg one if you want another reaction
righttt??!! i was like :0
I’ve been absolutely mesmerised by this man for a couple of years now. There’s something about that voice, his music and his lyrics that completely enchanted me. I can’t wait to hear more from him!!!
Arabic blooded man. Basically
He's the grandson of a famous, late Egyptian singer, Muharram Fouad. Wonderful genes!
Oh, is he? Cool.. I was wondering how is he pronouncing the Arabic letter ح
@@blackpearl7665Is that "eieen" or "aien"? I forgot.
In all honesty,he's got this ambience around him, that takes up your whole space. Every single thing about what he presents is incredibly alluring. I've never seen an artist this bewitching.
As a Jeff Buckley fan I teared up when I first heard Tamino, thank you for shining some light on this guy!
Ohhh Chai, I was going to comment the same thing. His ability to emote is soul stirring.
Jeff Buckley is my favorite....god level in vocals and expressing emotions
I hope you know Nothing but thieves, their singer Conor made a cover of his song Lover, you should have come over. He has such a beautiful voice and emotion in every song
YES I thought he was really like him
@@hanawaldgrave BARS.
As someone who's been a fan for a while now, its good to see my favourite artist finally get this kind of recognition. I know it's not a competition but Tamino's music outshines 90% of mainstream stuff
I am a simple Belgian, I see Tamino, I hit like 😌 nice video, Sam!
Omg hi fellow Belgian
Hi Belgians! Any other music recommendations from your country? So far I’ve been listening to Balthazar, Warhaus, Sylvie Kreusch, Faces on TV and J. Bernardt (and tamino, of course).
@@vampabe523 depends on what you like, but Stromae, Bazart, Sioen, Oscar and the Wolf, dEUS, School is Cool, Hooverphonic, K's Choice, Angèle, Tourist LeMC, Gabriel Ríos,...
@@VocalAttitude thank you! I will check them out

I'm so in love with Tamino it's not even funny anymore... You should react to his live concerts btw, he's absolutely mesmerizing
2 years later, and yep, still am. I just can't seem to get over his songs and voice and vibe. His songs make me feel like I miss some time or place I've never actually been. There's not a single bad song from him.
And he's only two months older than me. That hurt as much as his songs did.
I'm going to see Tamino tonight in Philly. I am so excited. He puts me in a musical trance. His voice and lyrics are just mesmerizing ❤️
As a belgian, I feel honoured so share a home country with this super talented person!
WE NEED A REACTION ON INDIGO NIGHT BY TAMINO!!!. Loved this reaction btw
egyptians sings like that .. and he have it in english thats all .. hes euphoric state and the technique is so egyptian and we actually adore him in egypt , hes also a grandson of a famous egyptian singer as well
Tamino is in another level. Lucky to have seen him performing ❤️
I was introduced to him when he was the opener at a Mitski concert this year. I was so mesmerized and became a fan
Never clicked on a video that fast. Tamino has that quality of making you feel what he is feeling as well as the mystic lyrics
Never heard Tamino before, instant love 😳
Sam: **thoughtful analysis and observant critique**
Me: pretty voice pretty voice pretty voice pretty-oh right technique, yeah, that 🧐 lol
I love there are more musicians with deeper voices getting more of the spotlight!
Dat range! And when it's rich... whew!! 😍 He killed this! I really appreciate that perspective of vocal cohesion/unification, too, though, and that note felt like someone threw a pillow at me while I was dancing with my eyes closed. Easy enough recovery, but, like...
Lovely reaction, I’d love to see more of Tamino on your channel, Sam. He is a amazing singer and has a good amount of songs that could be worthy of react.
Bruh, my friend told me about this guy like a couple of week ago. The whole Amir record is REALLY good. I’m looking forward to seeing more from Tamino. The way he sings reminds me a lot of Jeff Buckley.
Yes, Jeff Buckley was the first artist that came to my mind when I first heard him too. But at the same time he has his own style... I am in love with his voice.
So much content lately! Love it! Thank you Sam!
You're so welcome!
FINALLY! i’ve been waiting ages for this. literally. thank you sam!
Oh !!! You finally did Tamino I’m so happy !! Thank you !
Okay I loved the way you described voices and how different his voice sounds. And your opinion about « we like those kind of sounds because we were taught to like them » makes me think a lot. Tamino has an Arabic musical background and they do not use the same scale and key as European and American norms. Sometimes it’s weird for us to listen to those artists who just do music differently and it’s amazing to see how voices are perceived is subjective as well. I loved your reaction, thank you again
I am mesmerized by his voice.
Finally i see a Tamino reaction, thank You this guy is an angel please keep this Tamino reactions going. He is My favorite and no one seems to really know him.
YESS! I've been waiting MONTHS for you to make this. Thank you thank you!
I think I've come across this song before, it sounded hauntingly familiar, but thank you for reminding me of it because it is *beautiful*.. and I have missed you while you've been on a break, really lovely to hear your voice and perspective again. 😊
I love watching your videos. I miss music college, but I keep my vocal knowledge up w/ you!
Thanks Taylor!!! Hope you're singing a lot and having a blast
@@SamJohnsonVoice I am! Thank you. I now sing with my 3 year old. 🖤
Thanks for introducing me to a singer I hadn't been aware of 💕
I'm so glad you made a video on Tamino, he's so underrated!
The whole F album is a MASTERPIECE! VOICE + PRODUCTION= UNIQUE!
Glad to see you are back, was waiting for your musical opinion and guidance for a long time
Thanks so much for introducing me to this artist - one of the reasons I love your channel
I have been waiting for this!!!
So glad you reacted to him! I absolutely love Tamino and was happily surprised to see this video!
Hi Sam, I’ve been missing you off my feed and I don’t know why!
I have not heard this song before but I’m going to check it out now for sure. Very melancholy and interesting.
Same, i havent seen him in my feed looong long time
I had taken a pretty extended break, but have released I think 3 videos in the last week? Hope they pop up for you more in the future, thank you so much for sticking with me.
@@SamJohnsonVoice I am soooo glad your back. Many vocal coach reactions on UA-cam but always found the way you explain stuff the best!
@@SamJohnsonVoice it’s always a pleasure
Oh my god i am so excited to see this!!!! I love Tamino, I love Sam, oh my god this is THE BEST.
Oh man. I just love your teaching ways Sam Johnson! It’s really cool. Nice song.
Você poderia reagir a Pitou - Decay ou Give me a glass? Outra excelente cantora, com um alcance de voz incrível.
finally Tamino is getting the hype he deserves!!!!!!!!!!
What a nice discovery for me. Awesome talent
Thank you so so much for reacting to Tamino!!
tamino doesn’t move his mouth a lot when he sings but it’s live
@@pazidawson2178 it’s Tamino 😭
@@pazidawson2178 Indeed it’s interesting obvs he’s hot😌 also thank you, you too!
Please more reactions on tamino
i listened to the tiny desk version, which i like also bc you get the live version, no matter if they're singing sharp or they're pitchy. (why didn't you opt for it i wonder) it seems that the video you reacted to is pretty much a live version altho i'd have also liked an explanation for that discrepancy between the image and the sound.
i kept hearing bagdad cafe's i am calling you and wonder if the reference is on purpose. and when i first heard indigo night i found that he sounded a lot like leonard cohen. he's really interesting and i love the emotions. i knew you'd have sth to say about his eyes. i don't feel the same way about it but i'd have been disappointed if you hadn't tbh. 😂
2 years late but THISSSSSSS
Finallyy someone does TAMINO
Only clicked this bc I had a dog I named Habibi (found him as a stray in Saudi Arabia), which I believe means “sweetheart” in Arabic. Never heard this singer, but enjoyed his performance and your analysis and video.
He makes a lot of arabic inspired music since his roots are Egyptian. He just released an album called Sahar.
The "yes please" at 7:36 is me the whole song
The whole time he was correcting his baritone, I was just waiting for him to get to the end 😂😂😂
The fact that this is my fav reactor and my fav artist- i love it
Thank you for your video, I'm really happy to know more about a voice that i love so much !
I was just thinking yesterday that I'd love it if you made a video on this song
I'm just glad sam knows my fav singers
Bro Sam reacting to this is my dream come true I’m smiling so hard rn
Check out his song indigo night live at AB ♥️
It's true that we are used to a pressed sound. This was the sound I was looking for for a long time, but every time I have approached it, my voice got strainend quickly, just too much compression. Now I try to blow more air through and relax, mix more head voice into it. Unfortunately it doesn't sound strong anymore. It takes a lot of practise to have a high meaty tone, I guess, especially with my light quiet tenor voice :D
There's also a huge difference between perception and reality. I know when I'm singing well other people hear a loud, robust tone, but my perception especially above an Ab4 is that it's quite quiet and thin.
@@SamJohnsonVoice Interesting. I guess I need to record myself more, thanks 😄
I love you both so much 😭
Love Tamino so much
Man i posted a comment in like January on one of his vids to react to Tamino and didn't realize he did it like 3 months ago wew
Muy buen análisis y argumentario. Voy a por más.
Look at this dude trying to correct a 5 times reincarnated Egyptian god... I'm crying
Loove Tamino! Great reaction video, really interesting!
This was a n excellent presentation. Your knowledge was well explained to us.
Sync problems are common with UA-cam and other streaming platforms. It takes an accute eye to seem them sometimes with broadband
When you started singing when things started lifting off… reminded me of Serj Tankian 😂
Tamino's the best, my Egyptian god
I might get flack for this. But now that you've done Tamino, you might need to do the female cover that is just as amazing and fragile as this one.
By a singer called SLOŃ.
Also, yes he sang this live. If you check other live performances, he can do this.
PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO HIS OTHER SONGS AS WELL
Hey Sam, I really enjoy your vids and find them very helpful. Do you have any plans on reacting to Robin Pecknold / Fleet foxes?
Oh great idea. He's one of my favorite singers.
@@SamJohnsonVoice please do!!!!!
Finally a coach who knows what he's talking about
i find a lot of great singers from your videos
Devil in details ___
You killed the pleasure
i recommended this a few months ago 👁️👄👁️ woohoooo
Love this
it would have been better to react to the les concerts volants version though - it was recorded a few months later than the version reviewed here and Tamino was already much improved
You look great with long hair, Sam :)
thanks david!!
Thanks so much
I do believe it’s live, or that’s the first lip synced sniffle I’ve ever seen.
Love your analysis!
tamino 😍😍😍
Never heard of him before but wow, that was some range! (Also please react to carrie underwood singing how great thou art live ^.^ )
Thank u!
I'm proud to be from Belgium.
Tamino of Egyptian origin
@@maksimrux Agree, but a beautiful voice from someone that lives in my country.
@@maksimrux he's Belgian though! His mother, his upbringing. Doesn't matter, we all got a fantastic artist
Hi Sam. You should really react to Jeff Satur if you want to discuss smooth transitions. He is a Thai singer with a truly great and versatile voice and style. His tone is great and he seems to have a knack for how to blend the traditional Thai runs and colorings with a more modern/contemporary approach. His song Comedy and the darker version of it called Tragedy is a great start to explore. He is doing a lot of OSTs as well.
Umm ur voice is so good as well
I dont understand why there are so few reactions to Tamino.
Can confirm the twitter link is a good link to click indeed
i recommended him to you a year or more ago...nice to know that he is getting recognized
I'd be so fascinated to hear what you'd have to say about Confessions by Tim Minchin
Please react to Queensryche - Take Hold Of The Flame (Live in Tokyo)
Thank you for you work! Pls react to "sweet thing" sung by hozier
hi! will someone tell me why the sound apparently didnt match the face motions? is it bcs he doesn't move his mouth that much?
Haha. Saw him live. Tiny performance. Very live. And even better in person. Needed to edit my comment. Dude. Hahah who are you?? I’m going to wait. I’m commenting as I watch this. Ok. I can’t. Who ARE YOU!!!!????? Dude, this guy wrote this gorgeous song and you are….forget it. I’m done.
Hi, can you make a reaction to one of Cosmic Crooner's song, e.g Bolero or Popsicle Place. Thx ❤
YEAAAAAH TAMINOOO
You should react to Sheldon Riley’s Eurovision selection performance in Australia…wow they are likening him to Sam Smith.
James Blake please!
Great video btw :)
A little Rufus Wainwright there I think.
…and Jeff Buckley on occasion.
