  • After skating the Kaltik Mery Muñoz (‪@MeryMunoz‬ ) frame for the last few months, I figured it was time to talk about it in a little bit more depth in case any of y'all out there have been interested in the Kaltik style of frames.
    Spoiler alert: I LOVE the frame. It took some getting used to, but now that I'm comfortable on it, I can't imagine anything else. More discussed in the video, just wanted it known I love the frame.
    Also just celebrated 9 years sober from alcohol, so that's pretty cool.
    Anywho, STAY SAFE!

    Awesome seeing the power of UA-cam. You got years of experience between all your subscribers and they could see what needed tweaking with your coping grinds and it worked out!
    And damn that's awesome I reckon you've been inspiring the younger generation! 🙌

    Great vid once again! Lookin good on the coping! It's all about that carve up to the coping to set you on top to slide.

    • @MattBurke820
      @MattBurke820  3 роки тому +1

      That carve really was a game changer. I hit the park this morning and began to figure it out a bit more and worked on my unity a bit. I’m hoping I can transfer my grind vocabulary to coping and then start working on those airs you manage to pull off.
      No joke I get super jealous watching you float over transitions, and your grind game on coping. Hoping to hit that level at some point

      @@MattBurke820 Lol thanks but I really need to work my coping grind game and to that end my while grind game. I don't have much. I really want to try a back unity next on coping.

    Hell yeah dude!! I had the same issue with my Aeons, but started landing royales on 90° ledges last Tuesday. It doesn’t make sense and all, but just keep going for it and you’ll lock on and get that muscle memory.

    • @MattBurke820
      @MattBurke820  3 роки тому +1

      Everyone talking about Aeons got me fiending for some haha.
      I’ll do some work on the 1 ledge we have at the park and see if I can get comfortable with it, I just don’t seem to enjoy them as much as rails, though. Something about locking onto a rail feels so natural haha

    • @BladerReboot
      @BladerReboot 3 роки тому

      Matt Burke I totally agree! My buddy talked me in to trying to royale a ledge since the rail was waxed up too much. Landed first try to issue 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Got the Munoz frames coming this week! Been using the v2's and they are by far the best flat frame i've used so far, also cess slides are unreal on them, they slide perfectly in the royal position against the frame and the soulplate of the Razors Shifts, easy mode cess slides!! Looking forward to trying the Munoz ones, always wanted to stick it out with those frames!

    love the detail with the kids! This is one of the most important parts of being out blading!

      It’s become one of my favorite parts of being out at the park lately! The 2 boys rollerblade and the mom and sister are tearing around on quads. The mom is a shredder and has a few girlfriends on quads that come out and it’s becoming a huge community and could NOT be more stoked. So rad.
      All about the positive vibes and passing this sport on to everyone we can 👏🏼

    Great video man. The groove on those frames looks real nice. If you find constructive feedback helpful the only thing i would add to the dialogue is to lean into the transition more, so you dont end up on the deck. You probably already know this, ive been skating transition for 20 years and still have to remind myself over and over when i learn a new coping trick. Anyways love your videos man and thanks for your insight on the frames 🍻

      This is something I’m trying to figure out and I think I figured it out more today with my unities that’s I was working on. I definitely go way too on top of the grinds cause that’s just what I’m used to haha, but yeah, I absolutely need to work on angling those grinds better and figuring out how to hold them, as well.
      I wish I’d gotten into transition earlier, unbelievably fun.
      Appreciate you checking the videos out, man! And also appreciate the advice. Gonna put that to use tomorrow and force it into my head haha

      @@MattBurke820 no worries man. Keep making videos, really enjoy your content! Hows the blade scene in your part of the world? I've noticed you reference mainly skating with skateboarders, nowt wrong with that of course. We're all homies these days (mainly 🤣)

    I could see the appeal of skating a banana rockered aggressive frame like the Munoz frame or Oysi frames after skating anti-rocker for so long. But my Aeons have me spoiled.
    I'm stoked we're seeing such evolution in the skate hardware industry with regards to wheel rocker. Much more experimentation, more manufacturing precision and tighter tolerances...

    • @MattBurke820
      @MattBurke820  3 роки тому

      I was looking forward to getting a Oysi setup, but I honestly think I’m gonna stick with these Munoz frames, I’m falling for them haha
      BUT, I do think that once Aeons restock I’m gonna pick up a pair of those 72’s. Aeons look really dope

      Matt Burke yeah our weather can be so crazy unpredictable! It’s been a nice 70 degrees since so we may actually get a fall this year! We have one indoor park but it’s skateboarder exclusive which is pretty lame 😑

    Man, you hit that round rail with so much speed, confidence and steez! I love watching you grind that rail. It certainly looks like you are figuring out the quarter/bowl angle of approach and maybe because you are used to bombing so fast at that round rail you need to slow down a bit and let the ramp do the work for you when you are in the bowl. But that's coming from someone who can't do it himself so you don't need to listen to me. Your interlude story about the kids at the park getting aggressive blades (not that there is anything wrong with fitness skates) is just the best thing! Hats off to you for your influence on UA-cam and at your local park! One final thought is that I found it interesting that the Kaltik frame is rockered. I did not know that. I think you are going to love the Oysi frames but they are tall so royales with a narrow soul plate can be tough if you are not flexible like me! Keep shredding!

      Every “bowl” park in Canada is really just flat ramps with no transition to the bottom. Kills you speed and is exhausting.

    Hi, I've been following your channel for a while and I really like to watch your progression. I am no expert in aggressive blading as I am just starting to learn grinds (but I've been riding transitions with freeskates for a while), but I noticed something. You are turning on the left when you are doing airs and just going up and down the quarters, but you are turning on the right when you try to grind the coping, and then on the left when getting out of the grind. Maybe you should try grinding the coping on the other side towards the left (but it might be your switch side), you'd have a better carving. It is just an idea, keep having fun !

    • @MattBurke820
      @MattBurke820  3 роки тому

      Honestly, at this point I’m trying to figure stuff out haha. Trying to figure out what feels more comfortable to come out of grinds to see how I want to proceed. I DO absolutely (!) need to work on airing right out of the coping.
      I just started throwing a new trick today coming from the right hand side and it was really comfortable, so I think I may level up soon haha
      I appreciate you checking out the videos! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

    Maybe u should stop trying to get on TOP of the coping, the angle is not the same as the rail, instead of trying to get at the 90 degree angle shoot for like a sixty or 70 and just bend yur legs more as needed

    • @MattBurke820
      @MattBurke820  3 роки тому +1

      This is exactly what I need to start working on! I’ve got years of experience jumping directly on top of rails, so I’m just so used to it. Need to break the habit and hit the angles better, you’re totally right.
      Working on it tomorrow! 💪🏼
