- Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar is a family oriented All Inclusive Resort in Cayo Guillermo, Cuba. The resort boasts one of the best locations in Cayo Guilermo, just a few hundred meters from Playa Pilar, Cuba's best beach, and is a true paradise where couples and families with children can find comfort, recreation, and entertainment. At the end of August, we stayed here and, despite a few minor issues, had a good time. The buffet food was repetitive but tasty, and the Japanese restaurant was our top pick. Management should feel proud of the resort's cleanliness and the efforts of the staff.
Our personal views on the hotel's advantages and disadvantages;
Advantages:
Walking distance to Playa Pilar
Great staff
Very safe
All the facilities are close to the lobby
Nature is breathtaking
Beachfront hotel, but rocky
Great value for money
Wonderful sea view rooms
Excellent SPA
Disadvantages:
Early check-in is not available
Poor internet connection
The air conditioning in the buffet was broken (but they were working hard to replace the whole cooling system)

Food was fine for us; we always found what to eat, especially see food. The only little issue was that Coke was unavailable for a couple of days, which obviously impacted the preparation of several cocktails, but still ok for us. We've been to Cuba a few times in the last few months and have never gone hungry. Cuba has been under tight economic restrictions for tens of years but has always managed to provide an excellent service for vacationers; of course, Covid added a lot more pressure to them. We would say that if you enjoy eating a variety of imported food products, Cuba is not the destination to visit, but if you enjoy beautiful beaches and friendly people, it is ideal. By the way, we have friends with children who are currently staying at Iberostar Ensenachos (Cayo Santa Maria) and they are enjoying their vacation.
Do they have horse carriages for tourists in this city?
The nearest city called Moron is about 90 minutes away from the hotel and they do have tours on horse carriages. You can book a tour with your airline agent at the resort.

Thank you for watching 😊. We had no concerns at any of the All Inclusive resorts in Cuba, and we always felt safe and relaxed there. In any case, being overseas requires us to be always extra cautious.☀️😊
