Hi didi, I'm an employee at a company with which I'm not satisfied and feels like not my piece of cake. I actually completed my MBA from a state university which wasn't planned or without any guidance and there is now proper teaching and has 0% placements for finance, and now I want to pursue a second MBA from FMS (or from any top tier college) then some other way in some articles I found that top tier colleges in India majorly don't approve for second MBA, can you please clarify this doubt for me!!! Like I already started my preparation for CAT 2024, and genuinely want a good change in my career....

Yaa jo RCs hote unme lod nahi dhekhe the bss jese hit horhe book m vese kra tha. Ak aur ki jo cat ke RCS solved diye hue hai book m purane year ke like 1994 - 2003 yeh bhi poori preperation hone ke baad he solve krna hai ya abhi bhi kar sakte. Please guide me bada confusion hai!! TISS is certainly a great institute, both placements and ROI wise but it is particularly so for people who have a keen interest in HR. If you're not sure, it's a lot of effort vs return as 40k students fight for 68 seats.
So, make that choice keeping this in mind. Anyway you can think of this after CAT, so for now just focus on CAT.

As much as I respect Ravi Prakash Sir and have no doubt in his teaching ability or zeal for helping the students, it would be unfair for me to say anything in this regard as I haven't personally studied from any coaching other than TIME - that too North Campus centre.
What I can recommend you is that go through some of his videos on Rodha channel. If you like his teaching style, then that's the most important criteria for you to decide on.

Hey! Firstly, being from Open School wouldn't be any issue. It doesn't affect your selection. Many students from IGNOU and even SOL Delhi have made it to IIMs.

Any one exam score would be considered eligible….If you are applying for 2024 Cohort then CAT 2023 score would be accepted.

I have already written my gre and planning to write cat this year. Is it advisable to apply in round 1 of applications or wait for cat results and fill in the better score of the two in round 2? I mean, is it disadvantageous to apply in round 2 compared to round 1?

So turns out you can apply in round 2 after you get your CAT score, however, it's always advisable to apply in Round 1 as you might have higher chances then to get shortlisted, the more rounds go by, the lesser seats are left to be filled.
I applied through gre and I was successful in converting. It wasn't about the score. It's more about consistency in academics and profile as a whole

Regarding your question - pehle to ye batao which test series are you taking?
Secondly, if you're doing well in sectionals but not in full-length to it could be possible ki ek section ka stress dusre mein carry forward ho raha hai. Is that the case?
Thirdly, have you tried solving the same mock without timer after taking the mock? That may tell you ki kami knowledge ya concepts mein hai ya fir ke stress ke karan ya attempt galat karne ke karan hai.
Basically ye dhundna hai humko ki marks kaha se ja rahe, use control kia to apne aap marks aa hi jayenge

Ye batao:
1) are you able to at least go through and read the statement of all the quant questions?
2) how much time do you spend on each question on average?
3) in how much time do you decide to skip a question if you're not able to solve it?
4) when you analyze questions after the mock, do you note how many questions you skipped due to not remembering the formula or concept - because if this number is significant, you need to revise the formulas and concepts again.

Trust me I am very serious about the exam but maine mocks dena late start kiya aur daily full length mocks dene lga aur analyse kiya nhi bs solution dekhne lga to ye sab problem hui.

EY has a list of colleges where they would conduct placement drives and want to hire freshers from, and 99% of their fresh workforce comes from these colleges. So to join from outside of those colleges, is a little challenging thing. But please keep trying... You will somehow land some place nice 🥰😀

Is there sectional cut-off or just overall.
There are no sectional or minimum marks/cut-offs to apply to BITSoM because their shortlisting is based on exam score + your profile. But, the numbers mentioned in the video are a reference as to what were the marks of the candidates who joined them previously. So, they have no sectional cut-offs or overall - anyone can apply.

Anyone can apply to BITSoM because they don't have any academic or exam based minimum cut-offs. But, their selection criteria are based on 1. Academics 2. CAT/GMAT/GRE score 3. Achievements or Extracurricular 4. Essays 5. Work-Experience/Internships 6. References (optional)
So, if some of your areas are weaker, they can be compensated by the other areas like CAT score or work-ex or essats or internships

BITSOM is purely a profile based college. They undertake a whole lot of things when considering someone eligible. You should focus on essays and your CAT score. That would give a boost to your application.

@@YuvrajWithAGuitar Anytime! We did a poll in community post asking viewers if you guys would want such factual videos made in collaboration with B-schools and a majority said yes. So, we pitched to the B-schools who reached out to us that we will only talk about facts that are also available on Google, we just want the students to get factual information in one video and offer them a medium to reach out to the college (e.g. BITSoM students are evaluating students' profiles for free through the links in the pinned comment). So, hope it helps you all decide better.
Is it a tier 2 college?
Tbh, there's no one way of definiting tiers. Every person/company/platform has a different definition. Let me share a couple of them so that you can understand better:
When I was going to do an MBA, tier 1 meant colleges with more than 20L average package, a good brand name and top companies coming to hire for finance, consulting and marketing - by that definition BITSoM would be borderline 1 or 2 because even though placement stats meet the criteria, only 1 batch has graduated yet.
TIME's B-school ranking has put in as an AA college which means in Top 40 (at par or even above many newer IIMs) - www.time4education.com/CAT-MBA/About-MBA/TIME-B-School-Categorisation
SBI Scholar Loan List, which decides which top MBA college students to offer loans, considers it under the AA list which has all the top IIMs, IITs and others - sbi.co.in/documents/16012/76857/140823-Updated+255+Scholar+Institutes.pdf/4e982c23-392c-01a5-afcb-a2e23626598f?t=1691992183883
So, you can decide basis all these where you'd want to place it. Basis what I've heard from the students - they consider it to be a tier 1 college.
