This song was the best song I listened, i almost 😭, Cats Don’t Dance bough these memories back here, and we all miss this, we they thought Luther sung this but turn out to be Will Downing.
when i watched the movie as a kid, i'd always watch it to the very end. the song would usually go over my head. now that i've watched the movie again for the first time in years...how the hell did they not use it more prominently? this song should not go unnoticed!
I've always loved this movie and it's wonderful soundtrack. :) Now that I'm older I do appreciate it a lot more than I did as a little girl. I especially love this beautiful song. My fiancee and I have decided to have this song be used in our first dance as husband and wife next year. ♥
@@brianodonnell4496 I'm not sure how many to be honest. This film was made and all that jazz by a company called Turner Animation, if I am not mistaking. I could be wrong about that though. The 90's were an interesting time especially for cartoons, tv show or film wise. There were big hits by Disney of course, and then there were flops and non flops box office wise anyway by Don Bluth who was an animator with Disney before he got fired I believe and then ended up creating and thriving with his own animation studio called Bluth Studios or something along those lines. I mean, don't get me wrong I do love Disney films as well like practically anyone else especially the people who like myself got to experience the Disney Renaissance Era as a kid, but I do humbly believe in my opinion that the other films made by different companies and creators were and still are just as great if not greater even in some movie themes and the like of aspects as Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and etc. Keep in mind of course that this is all coming from a completely biased opinion from an 80's baby and 90's child. Also, some facts that I did mention about Don Bluth and all that could be easily miscued (I believe that is the right word.) by me since I was just a kid when all this craziness & such went down. I don't consider myself an expert on things even the things that I love like cartoon animation, it's history, and the like, but I do know what I know even if it isn't much to begin with. By the way, I'm no longer with the guy I was with before when I commented on this video the first time. He was and probably still is an idiotic liar & cheater. I'm with someone now who is a hell of a lot better for me in all ways that count in a romantic & all that jazz relationship. We've known each other for many years now. Haha! Him and I in more relatable terms now a days especially in the realm of fanfiction would be considered a real life slow burn love story. In fact, next January on my grandma's (May she continue to R.I.P.) birthday will be 4 years we've been together and I honestly couldn't be happier now.
@@kendrajones8215 I said, there were.... - Free Willy 1-3 - Batman: Mask of the Phantasm - Tom & Jerry: The Movie - Pokemon: The First Movie - Thumbelina(1994 film) - A Troll in Central Park - The Iron Giant - The King & I(1999 film) - Rover Dangerfield - Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish - The Amazing Panda Adventure - Alaska(1996 film) - Wild America - Space Jam - Quest for Camelot - And of course, Cats Don't Dance
Wow, seriously both this movie and the iron giant are very great yet underrated animated flicks. Especially since they were both made from warner brothers instead of disney or dreamworks
To all those talking about this song and how it should've gotten a nomination, I agree. However, I also can't argue against the Academy's rule that nominated songs in the credits have to be the FIRST thing in the credits. If that wasn't the rule, then anyone could just tack on a song at the tail-end of the credits and try to get that nominated.
I was so appreciated to listen to those songs from Cats Don't Dance when I was young back in San Jose, California. I watched Cats Don't Dance on VHS when I was young back in San Jose, California. That was from my own CD Album, Jimmy Kielbasa of San Jose, California, with all four volumes and all forty-four songs from albums, TV shows, movies and video games. Well, I hoped you enjoyed your whole memories, okay? Jimmy Kielbasa out.
This song is amazing, I am sure we all agree. I agree with what many others have commented with, I want this song played at my wedding with my wife when I get married
I watched this on Starz two nights ago and thank goodness you uploaded it because I knew there was a longer version than it was in the movie! Such a beautiful song and such an underrated movie.
If my research is correct. This song didn't play till LATE into teh credits. When most people walk out or turn off the movie. Infact if it wasn't for my research I wouldn't even know it existed. It's sad but true.
I DEDICATE THIS SONG TO MY HUBBY TO BE-RONNIE NEWBOLD. HEAVEN & EARTH IS WHAT HE GIVES SO WONDERFULLY!! THANK YOU GOD FOR GIVING ME EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED IN HUSBAND BEST FRIEND PRAYER PARTNER & LOVER!!
@FABLESFAN ThirdTime cannot answer as said name. Instead, this is who I answer as. Yeah, the first Annie Award for Best Animated Feature to go to a non-Disney film, though most reviews about it are negative.
Ok if thats the case, how does a movie like A Cat in Paris get nominated for Best Animated movie over really good animated movies like Arthur Christmas and The Adventures of Tintin but wasn't released im the movies 'til June 2012. Correct if I'm wrong but wasn't the 2012 ceremony for the movies released in 2011? RIDDLE ME THAT!!!!!!!!
@TheMOVIEMANIAC13 and protect that soundtrack with your life lol. and like i said, i now have the CD soundtrack ... ahem ... so if anyone ... u geddit lol
Was this the first song in the credits? Otherwise, it wouldn't be eligible as the per Academy rules. At least, the rules that aren't stupid and make sense.
Not actually. First, finishing the "Our Time Has Come" reprise during the dedication to Gene Kelly, then replaying the "Farley's Office" score, and then this song.
for some reason i always think of danny and sawyer doing it to this song every time i hear it... do i have problems or does everybody think about that?
I don't get how incredible songs like this don't even get recognised by the academy, but stupid songs like Man or Muppet get nominated and win the gold. BULLSHIT!!!!!
God bless the 90s

Takes me back to 1997. Living with my mom in our Chicago appartment in 1997 watching this movie.

That's a great song. How come the second verse won't play in the credits?
THIS SING IS GOING TO BE MY WEDDING SONG

Lady at all times I feel the same way!😁
I wonder one thing: Whose perspective could these lyrics have been written in?
