Starving could probably benefit with a rewording of "Once per round" where round is one set of each player's turns. Problem is, to my knowledge HS doesn't use that as a term.
~1:21:00 - A note on Starving in layman's terms: Your character has a switch "draws card when a beast dies". When a friendly beast dies, you draw a card and turn the switch off. Once your turn starts, you reset that switch back on. When you said at roughly the given timestamp that you had no idea, why you didn't draw a card using Starving on your opponent's turn - you had just drawn a card on your turn because the sheep killed itself and that switch was still off.
I'm pretty sure it was, but since he conceded so fast, there was no time for the animation to trigger. It would make no sense for the opponent to have played reno otherwise.
I like that you got explained how the starving worked, understood how the starving worked then next game forgot the explaination and how you understood how the starving worked XD
You criminally underrated the usefulness of Helboar with those passives - it was like 1 mana Arcane Intellect with a body. It was your best turn 1 play
Missed lethal 23:45, even though it didn't matter. Swing for 11, opponent at 15. Magnetize frog onto porcupine. Play sheep, play dead on sheep, deals 2 damage to everything twice, clearing the board except for porcupine. Then play Deathstrider dealing 24 to face.
Is Tram Operator worth running for later in the run? It's a little expensive, but tutors and discounts both combo pieces and it's easier to avoid drafting mechs than beasts.
Won't work friend, it requires damaging minions with spells and this deck doesn't want to add like 6+ cards that can interfere with the combo (1 cost spells for tracker, cards that don't draw the combo, etc.)
Also I think I know as to why starving sometimes draws on your opponents turn. The turns you DIDN'T have a beast die on your turn and your opponent killed a beast, it would make you draw. So what I think the game does is that starving kind of acts like a counter. Every time your turn start, the counter of beasts that die and give you a card goes up by 1 with a max of 1 and it carries over even in your opponent's turn. A bit of a technical explanation but basically. TL;DR If you don't have a beast die on your turn, the next opponent turn can trigger starving.
Hey Roffle, what would you think of a treasure that lets you remove a card(s) from your deck? Would it make combo decks too good or could it be balanced?
Does anybody know where I can find a list of the CURRENT passive treasures in duels? I keep finding outdated ones and its a bit frustrating because I keep thinking the double deathrattle and battlecry ones are still in the game with no proof to show.
@@yonisimkin1515 that's good to know but I would like to see a list that's up to date. Every time I see a list, I still find starving when it was a tier 2 passive.
So, starving appears to work weirdly, but it triggers once per "your turn"~ that includes the opponents turn if it hadn't triggered on your turn before. Very weird. It resets once its your turn again.
For the BGs players out there, I found a fun new comp. In Murloc/Beast lobbies, you can use the Deathrattle Murloc with Macaws and the Horsies that summon from hand when a friendly Beast dies to make absolutely massive Horsies. You can then pair that with the Murloc that gains the stats of all the minions in your hand to solo an entire lobby with roughly 4000/4000 in stats and receive many emotes expressing abject terror, rage, and disgust.
28:50 ish the sheep doesn't actually do 4 to all, it does 2 to all including itself, but since it had 3 health, without the poisonous it would not have died to its own deathrattle and gone off the 2nd time
1:21:30 no that is consistent, the sheep died on your turn then died on the opponents. i do not blame you for not realizing, you were so tired at this point
This is the last straw for me. Been watching you forever Roffle, but these duels videos are so boring and bland, i cant fake anymore and act like i enjoy it. Goodbye Roffle
Who asked, you are literally leaving forever, what do you wanted to achieve with this comment, a farewell from roffle? You can’t take it anymore(how sad lol) so you shittalk his content before leaving, truly a “been watching you forever” guy moment
I see you didn’t take those 60+ minigun-porcupine damage from last run in stride
After seeing that game I was waiting for this run lol

Starving could probably benefit with a rewording of "Once per round" where round is one set of each player's turns. Problem is, to my knowledge HS doesn't use that as a term.
I feel like it should be in parentheses like : (this passive refreshes at the start of your turn)
Yeah something along the lines of: “After your first Beast dies, draw a card. (Refreshes at the start of your turn.)”
The full combo's damage = P×N+2^(N+1)-2, where P is the Porcupine's Power and N is the Number of times Deathstrider triggers the deathrattle.
Why -2?
@@JustaBigMan That's just how the sum of consecutive powers of two works out. 2 = 4-2. 2+4 = 8-2. 2+4+8 = 16-2, and so on
I saw you play against this deck a couple other times in your duels videos. Seemed fun hoped you would play it eventually
From what i could tell with starving is that it restarts at the start of each of your turns. So you only draw once during that cycle
That win against the Dragon Druid with the perfect draw and the Quel'delar was just so satisfying.

That king crush pick was abysmal. Cool porcupine games though
Happy New Year's Roffle!!! Here's to another year of delicious Duels content

💀

The Abbott and Costello reference is greatly enjoyed and appreciated 😁

Starving works like reverse undead. Its on your turn and the next opponent's turn, resetting every start of turn.
I love when I see you play against a funny deck and then pop up playing it like a day later
I have been waiting for you to come back to this deck. Funniest of the OTKs imo

Every time i think of playing some duels again you remind me why i am not. 😂 Thank you.
That paladin match had me on the edge of my seat
I theorized the porcupine combo on the last video with this hero! Glad to see it works!
did you do this deck because someone killed you with it? lol
That was my thought exactly lol.
That’s the exact reason I craft new decks lmao
i mean, if roffle had won he wouldn't have seen the full combo or how good the deck can be
Is Tram Operator worth running for later in the run? It's a little expensive, but tutors and discounts both combo pieces and it's easier to avoid drafting mechs than beasts.
That run was hilarious. Thank you, Roffle.
Have you considered adding the stormwind quest to make the hero power free, targetable, and repeatable?
Won't work friend, it requires damaging minions with spells and this deck doesn't want to add like 6+ cards that can interfere with the combo (1 cost spells for tracker, cards that don't draw the combo, etc.)
@@mangouschase That would also insanely pollute the buckets making the combo even less consistent over the course of the run.
@@WhipLash42o i didn't know what cards are from what sets but that makes it even worse
23:30 the play was go face with everything, explosive sheep + play dead explosive sheep, win with combo
early on someone mentioned that it seems to draw on the opponent's turn if it didn't draw on your turn, which seems to be how it works
Hearing the leapfrogger noise gives me BGs flashbacks
A perfect run to close the year with! Happy New Year, Roffle!
When you hero power with the sheep its a total of 4 damage. Didnt need to poison bloom at the 28min mark.

Like Bob's tavern from dungeon runs

Double death rattle is 100% still in but is ultra rare, I've had it offered. No ideas about the other one though.
They are still in.
@@yonisimkin1515 that's good to know but I would like to see a list that's up to date. Every time I see a list, I still find starving when it was a tier 2 passive.

Why is Roffle using powerful firearms against his opponents??
Roffle always had massive guns. Now he also has Augmented Porcupines.
i think the draw happens because it is a reborn minion. bug.
1:03:00 satisfying
I think Starving uses the code of "After the end of your last turn" cards, like the Nerubian vizeer. Still a badly worded card.
I finally got 12 wins in duels with this deck! Too bad it was in casual.....
1:21:30 no that is consistent, the sheep died on your turn then died on the opponents. i do not blame you for not realizing, you were so tired at this point
No need to put poison on sheep when vs paladin cos it blows itself up, dealing 4 to the board and killing all their minions
