Thanks for sharing bud. Channel seems barren at the moment, but as you say spring is around the corner, can't come too soon for me mate ha. Keep up the great work tight lines
A great video again mate shame the fish didn't want to play but like you said its that time of year when it's always a slow start but it won't be long until the fish hopefully start coming out to play 😀 🎣👍tight lines mate looking forward to the next video 🎣💪👍
Another great video Dean. Interesting to see how the dongles work out for you this year, we've had fantastic catches of rays, cod, hounds and huss on them with no losses (touch wood) but we have found they do work better with smaller baits. Only species we found they don't seem to work for is congers. Tight lines pal. MMC.
Another great watch, thanks for making this video! The dongle is a South African invention I believe. They call it a Dingle dangle..... They use it over there to great effect for there shore fishing with squid and sardine/to cut bait ... They also tenderise there squid with a little hammer and tend to build baits round polystyrene to give them neutral buoyancy.... Chokka baits (squid) and fish baits made from lots of layers bound together. Worth a watch sometime if you search Dingles and chokka very similar to the dongles 🤙
Is used also clipped up so the line to the lead is slack, and the lead hanging directly below then lead when ready to cast. Allowing large wide baits to be used without the hook coming out of the bait clip during the cast as a pennel would
Ive been using dongles for 15+ years , tried long version with worm yes they do work , but as you said the shorter version are better for me . I mainly use the over rough ground and braid.
Tough session Dean, as you say it’s that time of the year where one tide can be different to the next, never tried the dongle method before must give it a go on the hounds. On a separate note, where do you park to access that spot …. is it just across from the recycling site ? 👍

Good vid again Dean, not always about catching great to be out and get the head clear. Got to ask on you sliding 2 hook clip down do you use a crimp to stop the bottom snood from sliding up or a rubber stopper?
What advantages/disadvantages do shorter and longer pulleys bring? My thinking the shorter hook length on the shorter pulley won’t get snagged as much on rough ground, not sure if that’s right though? Any advice
Longer pulleys so rays don't come into contact with the lead as they are tight to the bottom and I think it help for fish to take bait down, as for short pulleys cod and hounds for example don't hug the bottom like a ray so a short one is fine, hope that helps
@@deanbooker3314 cheers for that Dean, yeah I’m targeting cod mainly but want to get more knowledgeable with fishing. I want to target other fish when cod move on so it all helps.
@Dean Booker haha 🤣 no worries m8 👍I could do with a few extra yards mind and my technique polished up, so if you do change your mind at any point snd fancy earning a few quid let me no 😉
