Very good. I haven’t been to Eastleigh for over 25years. It is a shame that the people are not getting served by the government despite hardworking people and business that goes on there. Good infrastructure would only enhance the livelihood of the people.

    Great content!
I'm Kenyan-kikuyu and on behalf of all Kenyans I would like thank Somalians/Somali Kenyans for the contribution to Kenyan society and economy. Your statement that Eastleigh contributes to "roughly" 30% of Nairobi economy is exaggerated. However it is undeniable that this area clearly needs investment in infrastructure to elevate it to the next level, as it already is a major economic hub/ business district in Nairobi. As an African it makes me proud to see Somalian and somali-Kenyans prospering. I live in the UK and from my observation here and traveling around the world is that Somalians have an awful reputation/stereotype which needs to be corrected. This type of content can help change the narrative in a positive manner. I also commend Kenya for being a truly multicultural society, as we do welcome all people to our country. Our strength in Kenya comes from our diversity and unity. Kenya can lead the way and show that Africans can be united, prosper and live together. One Africa!!!

Kenya is still diverse even minus the foreigners you list. Kenya shares tribes with TZ, UG, Somalia and Ethiopia. It has a mix of Nilotes, Bantus and Cushites and intermarriages which brought the likes of the Swahili people. All countries attract immigrants , that is not unique to Kenya, so they may as well claim to be diverse. Kenya's diversity is not pegged on immigrants and that is what makes it special.

What I have never understood is why some people think there are no Kenyan Somalis and any Somali they see is from Somalia! People need to understand Kenya shares boundaries with Somalia and Ethiopia..so we share communities! An Ethiopian-looking person is not necessarily Ethiopian, they may be Kenyan and same applies to Somalis. I have even heard ignorant statements where Africans say Kenyan food is bland but they like Somali and Ethiopian cuisine. Then I wonder what those ignorant people think who Kenyans are? Kenya shares some tribes with TZ, UG, Somalia and Ethiopia. Then add the Coastal Swahili people who are of mixed heritage comprising Coastal Bantu, Arabs, Persians and Asians. Kenya is the most diverse in East Africa in terms of mixed cultures/heritage and looks! To add to this, add immigrants and refugees.

Kenya has a big middle class and also millions in formal employment thus providing a huge, reliable customer base. They can't invest in small economies like Burundi and increase. Even the choice of Nairobi instead of places near Somalia like Wajir or Garissa is quite telling.

The North Eastern part of Kenya just needs good infrastructure to connect everyone. We need highways from Kenya to Somalia. We need bustling towns full of people from EVERY community. We need the border to be open so that the Somali community in Kenya and Somalia are not separated. We also need to see Kenyans thriving in Somalia the same way Somalis are thriving in Kenya. We need to be more connected. The Somali government and the Kenyan government should work together on these infrastructural developments so that both countries feel like they each played a part in the development. We need everybody to be free to live life how they want. We need to tear down all barriers to this unity such as religious differences, tribal differences, economic differences, cultural differences. We don't need the "us vs them" mentality. We need to mix with each other so that we are one. I hope we all agree
