I’m guy who grew up in a household where my mom and dad were viewed as equal figures of authority, but I had some extended family who were very misogynistic. My Dad would even get shit from some of my extended family for not “keeping my mom in check.” I noticed what some of my uncles and male cousins would do is they would actually go out of their way to say something bashing women, usually be making some stupid comparison, even when the conversation wasn’t related at all to something like gender.
