I spent 100 hours in Singapore, which has been called the City of the Future! Let's explore what makes it so futuristic and unique.

I'm an American who's lived in Singapore for about 17 years. Nice, quick overview of the country. One small note is that the Singapore dollar is only about $0.75 US - so things are slightly less expensive than they appear (but still a fairly expensive place to live). Second is that robots are not quite as ubiquitous as they might appear to be. But the cleanliness, efficiency, accessibility, etc. - yep, pretty much spot on.
Question - I'm from Bulgaria and here when the temperature is over 35 degrees on our phones we see an Alert for Extreme Heat!
But :)... Tell me how do you Survive in the Real Extreme Heat in Singapore?
Where are you originally from in the US? Maybe something similar and really hot in summer? How do you adapt?
Places like Singapore ( basically 100% humidity ), Thailand, and Dubai in Summer for people that are not adapted are actually really life-threatening if you cannot stay inside in a temperature control environment.
@@vasiovasio I joke that we have two seasons in Singapore - indoors and outdoors! We have a lot of well cooled buildings where people spend much of the day. When we are outdoors, we do have a fairly green and leafy urban area with a lot of shade trees as well as shaded walks and air-conditioned public transit. But yes, it can be uncomfortably hot and humid here.

Actually tell something also about the living standart - the Air Conditioning cost money for everyday, basically 24/7 operations and it is normal and the most important Affordable for the vast amount of the population to pay these electricity bills.

As a person from Singapore and who grew up in Singapore I actually didn’t know about some of the things in the video like the robot stuff as most who live here don’t go to the robot hotels but I was fun to see you walk on the same floors as I have walked on too before

Dang, there's actually a bar/arcade near my Washington State hometown with old arcade machines, some from Japan, and a rolling robot barmaid.

I visited Singapore about 10 years ago. I was a small kid so I couldn’t comprehend what I was exploring lmao. Now, I want to visit Singapore once again cuz I’ve been wanting to try new stuff y’know? It really is a fun place!

Btw, I think the prime and feastable price is from a few months ago. That was before the mainstream supermarkets got them. Now they are much cheaper but still considered pricy. About $3-5

My favourite part about Singapore was all the Hawker Centres everywhere, the food was always amazing and cheap, the local company great. The business area of the city is very expensive, but the subway system will take you anywhere in the city for cheap and its beautiful. Chinatown was a blast as well.
I live in Singapore! This was an interesting perspective because as a local I never paid this much attention to the tech and architecture... impressed that the heat and humidity never got to you either!

I used to live in Singapore from 1999 to 2010 before moving to Canada. It's crazy to see so much has changed in 14 years.
Singapore is on the top of the leaderboard for many things, I'm glad I'm a Singaporean Citizen. The only thing I would dislike is that it is really hot there.

Once you said Singapore thumb picture made sense. A very orderly, futuristic-materialism built into city infrastructure. It looks so different from twenty years ago, but same impressive headturning place. Very cool.

Singapore is superb for someone who loves concrete jungle. Aside from that, there's not so much to be in awe about. That's why many travelers rate it badly because they didn't manage their expectation. You don't come to Singapore for their nature, you come for their modern architectures.

Singapore’s great. Been living here for my whole life, and so far it’s still pretty good.
The only problem you could have in Singapore is the inability to sue the government, which for many people is a really big deal nowadays.
So until the Singapore government somehow fumbles, everything should stay pretty great.

A lot of Singaporeans are aware how amazing and modern our country is but at the same time most of us just want a simple life. There's a bit of a weird detachment because the most attractive things to tourists about Singapore are actually the same things we avoid. I've been to Changi Airport so many times but I've never bothered to explore it. I'm proud to be Singaporean but sometimes it feels like the pace Singapore grows and changes is a little overwhelming.

as a Singaporean, i think it is expensive here but i also think there is more to it than the big big attractions. our cultures and food are very delicious. you just need to find the hawker centers where the legends are located and eat good
