Her show does seem a bit... forced. I wonder if Karen was 'promoted' by the BBC as part of some (alleged) pro-female comic quota system (allegedly). You know the sort of thing: Quentin with a Powerpoint presentation says, "Yaah, we've got too many funny men, okay? And not enough women. We need another Tracey Ullman, another empowered, post-modern female with her own show." Like Ronni Ancona: very good as part of an ensemble, but rather weak without other big-name comics to play off. I think she (and Karen) did her best work as a co-star on The Sketch Show. On her own she seems lost, like a stand-up comic who's not quite worked out an identity yet. And the BBC would have been HORRIFIED with Karen's choice of material. Smutty Benny Hill humour, Carry On bosom jokes, a kiddie fiddling teacher, a man-beating, pre-menstrual woman... And she can't really get away with saying that she's adding the crude bits as ironic punctuation because they're all she's had for two entire series, and they're everything the Beeb has been frantically cancelling for the past two decades. I've nothing against Karen herself, but I'm surprised she was given quite so much rope to play with.
She's brilliant! I loved this show.
I was the guy in the wheelchair who parked in her spot
Less fatness, more hotness. Love Karen
I'm so worried about some q-anon-or coming across the recipe at the end
typical bbc wont put this on dvd.
