I just watched your Draw Story of Your life and now fully understand your journey to reach and achieve where you are right now.. and everynight i eat Mang Juan while watching your daily vlogs. Lol
may viz First, thanks for watching my new vlogserye! Second, thanks for taking the time to watch my Draw My Life video. One day I will tell that full story in these vlogs. Finally, thank you for eating Chicharron ni Mang Juan! Mabuhay! :)
Thanks for watching, guys! Have you guys been to the Philippines and if so, what do you love most about being in the Philippines? Let us know! Mabuhay!
I am touched...that inspite of the country's imperfections you still like living in the Phils...there are times that it would occur in my mind that the decision of returning back to the country after living in Australia was a big mistake...thanks mikey for re-affirming that it was not a mistake at all!...this country of ours is something to be proud of!...and we are Filipinos!...
Ha Same here, Filipinos are generally friendlier in terms of building good relationships that care for one another than most White Countries wherein people literally will leave you for dead of the wrong ethnicity....
The way you describe Philippines is why I love it there and love spending time there. in the province it's not easy, but if you are flexible and accepting, it's a great paradise.
true! I met a french girl who was having a tour by herself recently and I brought her to our condo even when I just met her at an public transit. I started a conversation with her and we bonded at the mall singing at karaoke. hahaha! what a nice experience when you get to meet kind hearted people and they become good friends right? Philippines has many good people. I believe that. Look at our churches. We are always jam-packing those places every sunday or even not on sundays only. hehehe. Just saying. Marami mababait na pinoy. And super! I admire Mikey how he does represent a good image of Pinoy around the world. Godbless you!
I appreciate your humility. I follow a couple of vloggers from the Philippines, to satisfy my Philippine life longing I guess, but I feel like you're the only one that has stayed humble all this time. You don't blow things out of proportion to add drama for content and your serious talks are really inspiring, it feels real, raw and unedited. I don't know, you're relatable, less commercial and I think your vlogs are pure one hundred. Please don't change.
Wow very touching words ... thank you! Honestly most pinoys who grew up in North America and esp those who had just been there for few years wouldn't even want to speak the language anymore. American accent agad in one month! A lot of fil-ams here still speaks like they are in the US. Dun pa lang sobrang nakakabilib ka. Thank you for being proud to be a Filipino. Thank you for loving the Philippines like the way you do. I wish you more blessings Mikey.
Even if i lived in the Philippines my entire life,i'm still going to answer that question. What i love most about the Philippines is it feels like HOME,i cannot and will not find any other place that will feel very comfortable and welcoming than here in the Philippines, everyone is treated as family, the food is awesome, and despite it's imperfections, there is still no place like HOME! Mabuhay! 😁☺️💕❤️😁
The biggest difference for me living in Philippines vs California/North America is the sense of community. The individualistic culture of the west is the complete opposite of the family oriented culture of the Philippines. Even though you can do whatever you want in an individualistic culture, it leaves you empty inside. The kind of connection you experience with people in the Philippines cannot be described you have to experience it for yourself.
i was touched with your talk about loving to live here in the Philippines. I love this country so much amidst its imperfections too. lucky for you you have the means to travel around the world, me i was born, raised, lived, worked in the Philippines all my 50 years in this world. I have never experienced going to other countries ever. I think i will be in the Philippines as long as I live. And I think thats okay with me. Thank you Mikey for loving our beloved Philippines...
Haven't been home since '98. It's nice seeing episodes in the Phil through your channel Mikey! Thank you! 😊 ...Lmao Classic Filipino! "Tara na sa GOOGEL" 😂 Gah! Ampalaya! 😖
We love you here in the Philippines. Thanks for appreciating our country despite all the imperfections. I can see in your vlogs how much you enjoy it here. Mabuhay!
Hi Mikey! New subbie here. Been watching your vlogs for 3 days straight non-stop haha. 😬 I admire how happy and positive you are in all your vlogs. I just want to thank you for spreading that positivity to all of us. I got teary-eyed during the part when you mention about your reasons why you love the Phils. I've been living here in dubai since 2005 and lately I've been doing a lot of thinking if i should go back home na. There's a lot of hesitations especially when I think about all the bad stuffs happening there. But i guess you're pretty much right. Perfect is boring. 🙂 Goodluck on your future endeavors, may it be in the phils or canada, we will support you ❤
When I was in college I had a friend from the Philippines, and unfortunately we lost touch. I wish I had known your videos before! I could have talked to her about the Philippines. It's a very beautiful country, what you show of it seems like something I would love to experience one day. Thank you Mikey!
You and Kyle Jennermann are my fav 'Pinoy' vloggers. You're both very down-to-earth or should I say very down-to-Pinas and your vlogs are very informative and entertaining. Keep it up!
Watching this at 8am today hehe and I craved for lumpiang shanghai! Awww and I got teart eyed about your speech about living in the Philippines. I'm so glad you decided to stay after your ad stint 😍 Indeed, perfect is boring! I love you Mickey!
woooow!!! you are living my dream mikey.... good for you!!! enjoy life, we only live once so you have to maximize it!!! sending this message with my family from UK. Mabuhay ka Mikey!
Good for you and I respect that coming to experience living in PH has been a great opportunity for you, career-wise...I've been to Toronto once and I loved it. Or living in a 1st world has been part of my goal, but that doesn't make me less of a Pinoy. I guess, it's part of developmental make up each one gets into. I have been sharing to my Facebook all your parodies as I find them stimulating and intelligently written. You keep that patriotic passion and we support you all the way. Kitos, Mikey Bustos!
As a fellow Canadian i agree 100% with you about how you feel about living in the Philippines. I Just wish as a non filipino i could find work there. One day soon i will be living there with my filipina asawa and i know that i will love it and cherish it. Keep up the great work Mikey!!
I learned to enjoy bitter melon (ampalaya) when I cooked at an Indian joint in Texas. Once I got over to the PIs my wife was surprised that I not only knew what it was but like it! :)
Gosh this video brought me too much emotion! haha! I cant believe it's been six years since I first watched you tutorial. I cant believe Ive personally known you. Cant believe Ive got a chance to spend time with you. Cant believe we've became friends. I will always be a fan no matter what and you will always have a friend in me. huggss!!! P.S. You are right, you cant join amazing race with RJ. You will fail so bad, sa audition pa lang. hahaha! Love you both! :D :D
You're right, Philippines not perfect but it's where you feel happy especially with people that surrounds you. Even the comfort is here in the states for me but my motherland is still calling me. Great vlog mikey.

I've been to the Philippines only once recently and I had the most fun wandering around aimlessly and attempting to navigate while only able to speak English. I would visit more if I could but I couldn't imagine living there. I love my hometown in California incredibly.
you're saying that cause you're single with no kids and as you said, you have not experienced the crime and all those ****... im Filipino but we chose to move here in NZ. i love philippines but it was not good to me and my family as it is to you. its really different for everyone. i wish i can go back without having those bad feelings come rushing into me. but you and your vlogs are there so i still get to see it from your eyes and im really thankful for that. thank you!
Watching this made me miss the Philippines... :> I'm Canadian born and raised (to a Filipino family), but I went and took university in the Philippines, and those 4 years were amazing. I'm back in Canada for some more school and work, but I'd love to go back one day

there is a simple trick to make the ampalaya not too bitter.. it is putting it on the water with salt after you chopped it.. not exposing it to the air because it makes the ampalay bitter... hehe.. because it is also my favorite....

Did I hear RJ say "Ewww" when you were talking about feeling like you're making out with a cow when you eat the cow's tongue dish? Haha! Your adventures are so funny.
Love the view from you condo! Last time I was in Manila, I stayed out in Eastwood and the view from the condo was just as nice. I spent a lot of time just staring out toward downtown. Would love to have a condo like this or a house on a quiet street. Also thanks for the good recommendations, will have to try those places next time I am there!
Wow.. you have included Baguio to live in for a while. magsawa ka sa Peanut Brittle at Ube pag nandito ka na..haha love your "chibog time" in your vlogs. (expression ni Wil Dasovich, chibog time, sana may collaboration kayo sa future vlogs niyo)
I admire your decision to go back home. I would love to do the same thing and go back to Iraq, but the problem is that my Filipino wife is too scared to do it.
