David MacMillan: from Bellshill to the world

Today we will know a little about the trajectory of the winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2021, the renowned professor and researcher David MacMillan.
With a distinguished career in Science, he is currently a professor of Chemistry at Princeton University, in the United States. His research made an important contribution to the understanding of catalysts - accelerators of a chemical reaction.
MacMillan discovered a new type of catalyst that can be activated by light and this has had a positive impact, for example, on the creation of environmentally sustainable medicines.
